Celeste's POV:

Vanessa pulled my arm, snapping me from my thoughts. “Who is she?” She asked.

“Some sorceress that's here to help me,” I answered.

“She looks like she's going to make it worse,” Vanessa argued.

“I know,” I answered.

“Then?” Vanessa asked.

“She got Killian to make her a deal,” I answered.

Vanessa scoffed and grabbed my hand.

I raised an eyebrow, confused.

“Come. We're going to see what that witch is up to,” Vanessa said, pulling me with her into the packhouse.

Once we got in, I froze. That hissing sound rang in my ears again, making me want to scream.

“You came, perfect,” the voice breathed in my ears.

Go away. Shut the hell up!

“You should have known by now that I have telepathy. The wolves have it too. Don't fight it or you'll make it worse,” the voice hissed in my mind.

I looked up to see Selene smiling at me and the mai

Killian’s POV Charlotte screamed, growling and snarled while holding her. She twisted like a mad possessed woman. “Charlotte, snap out of it! “ I said, using the mind link, but she wasn't listening. She didn't even react to my voice. “Charlotte! Your alpha commands you!” She growled, giving a bloody eerie scream. I frowned, tightening my lips into a straight line. Charlotte! I tried once more, but a loud screeching sound rang in my head. She screamed, her voice cracking with the heavy wind that suddenly came into the room, blowing the windows open. I didn't want to hurt her. I couldn't. She wasn't herself. “Charlotte,” I called, trying once more to reach her. She stopped, turning her gaze towards Celeste, her body contouring to the same way. Then her eyes darkened and glowed. “Oh my God,” Celeste gasped, and Charlotte roared. Vanessa began running towards Celeste as Charlotte roared. I felt my blood run cold, and she pulled away from my grip.

Selene's POV: “K…Killian,” I begged. “Don't!” “It was you, wasn't it? In my head?” Killian asked and squeezed harder. I slapped at his hands, begging for air, but he was having too much fun taking it out of me. “I killed my own today. I should send you to hell,” he snapped and loosened my grip. I fell to the floor, gasping and coughing, drawing breaths. “If I didn't have use for you, I would crush your bones,” he said. I started laughing, holding her neck and rubbing it. I had touched him exactly where I wanted. Now, he would respect me and not treat me like some lowlife. “Did you like my gift?” She asked, and my anger rose. He crouched to the floor and raised his hand to my face, smiling. My eyes widened in horror as his claws grew. “I didn't,” he said and scratched hard on my leg. “Son of a bitch!” I screamed, pulling my leg away, but he wasn't done. He held me still and brought his claws again on my arm. I yelped, and he smirked. His face dangerously close. “Tha

Celeste’s POVI cleaned Vanessa's wound with a cotton stick and drugs. She flinched as I rubbed gently on the skin. My mind drifted back to an hour ago. Killian had looked downcast, and I felt pity for him.He wasn't the tough man on the inside like I thought he was. It made me realize he loved his pack members. That was why he was a better leader. His eyes turned sad yet had a huge layer of anger before he left the room. An audible voice rang in my ears, but I jerked the second it became clearer with a tap on my shoulder. “Celeste!” Vanessa's voice yelled. I snapped back to reality and blinked. “Girl, are you okay?” She asked. “I have been calling your name for a while. It's a good thing you ain't dead yet.”“Huh?” I groaned. “You're thinking of it, aren't you?” She asked. “That's why you zoned out.”“No,” I lied. “Uh,” she responded. “That's why you're pressing hard on my legs. You're going to give me a bruise.”I stopped

Celeste's POVI raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Selene's drama. “Hell no,” I replied, snarling louder than I had meant to.Selene's smile only increased. "Afraid you'll lose?"I laughed and rolled my eyes. “I doubt,” I replied. “I just don't see the point.”I turned, walking away from her. She made me angry even without trying. I felt my heart pound as I moved forward.I wasn't stupid enough to believe Selene was up to anything good. Whatever she was after, it wasn't a plain fight.Walking down the training grounds and down the hill, I moved quickly, ignoring Vanessa's voice calling my name.

Killian's POVI stood there alongside the hill and watched them saddle up. Selene caught a glimpse of me and bent down before she passed by. I crossed my arms over my chest, hiding my face until Vanessa looked up at me. I stood stiff and unmoving, and she yanked on Celeste's arm, having her look over.Vanessa's mouth was open a fraction, and Celeste turned to follow her glance, almost jumping back when she saw me. Good. They should be afraid. She better have a good excuse for skipping the training.I'd been watching from the instant that Selene threw up her hand, muttering whatever spell she was. I saw how Celeste's body stiffened and how her eyes lit up when fire suddenly came into existence in her hand. That energy was not good. That was not

Celeste's POVI heard fast footsteps on the ground. My ears caught on, and Killian's must have, too. His hands rested on my waist, pulling me close and staring into my eyes even when he knew someone was closing in on us.“Killian,” I whispered. He didn't budge, only bringing his face closer to me.“Killian,” I called again, and the footsteps stopped. I turned instinctively to where I heard the movements and saw Logan appear from behind the trees. His expression was hard until he saw us and changed to surprise. My cheeks turned red in embarrassment, and I looked away."Uh-o

It was quiet, and I adjusted the cuffs of my shirt.Logan and Victor got out of the car, closing the doors shut, and I walked towards the warehouse door. They followed with the other men.The second I got to the door, the men standing guard bowed. “Welcome, boss.”I raised my hand, accepting their greeting. “Open it,” I said. They nodded and pushed the door open. I stepped in, taking my men with me. As I stepped forward, the men inside beca

Selene’s POV The smoke wafted around me, and the smell of burning dirt and charred leaves was heavy in my lungs. Across the glade, Celeste was frozen, breathing in great gulps. The last sparks of the fireball she'd halted moments before burned out at her feet. Her fingers fluttered, as if she were still sensitized by the searing heat in her palm, as if she couldn’t register what she had done. I raised my eyebrow, masking the pleasure I derived from bloody being amused. She’s getting there. I had expected resistance. Wolves were relentless, driven by swiftness of instinct and the might of brute force, and never quite understanding the beauty of true power. But Celeste was different. She fought with intelligence. She would listen even when she claimed she wasn’t. And, above all, she didn’t escape from what was within her. Not yet, anyway. The trick was to keep her off-balance to rupture her just a little, to push her buttons just enough that she would turn to me for answers. Trust

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 78: Peace talk?

Killian’s POVI sat in my office, eyes on the file in front of me. It was a thick folder, full of names—young pups, barely old enough to walk steady, who were being enrolled into the new training program. The idea was to teach them how to shift safely during full moons, so no one got hurt. Some of these kids didn’t even know what they were yet. And I needed to be sure we picked the right mentors for them. The list was long. But I didn’t mind. This was the kind of work that kept me grounded. Calm. Focused. My pen tapped against the corner of the file as I flipped another page, reading over names, pack lineages, and notes from their parents. I made little marks in the margins—just small things I’d remember later. I didn’t want to rush it.Then, five minutes in, there was a knock. It was soft. Hesitant. Like whoever stood outside the door wasn’t sure if they should be here.“Come in,” I said, without looking up.But the second the door creaked open, I smelled him before I even saw his f

Celeste’s POVI walked across the wide lawn of Midnight Moon Paradise under the pale glow of the moon. The grass was very cool and soft beneath my bare feet. I kept my eyes on the ground, as If I was lost in my own thoughts, though I did not know what I was thinking about.I felt very restless, like a bird trapped in a cage. Vanessa’s face kept floating in my mind, but it was a half-remembered image, blurred at the edges. I knew I didn’t trust Vanessa, but I was worried even more about my own self. Somewhere inside me, something had gone wrong. My memories felt extremely thin, like they could slip away at any moment. I tried to hold onto a single clear thought, but it dissolved before she could pin it down. Every time I tried to remember a name, a place, or a promise, the words would just drift away. That confusion, that fear, was pressed down on my chest. I knew I needed a break from my own mind. I kept walking until I found a smooth concrete stone in the middle of the lawn. It l

Vanessa’s POVCeleste was losing touch with reality.I saw it happen for a week, her laughter absent, her warmth lost. She avoided conversation and seemed to forget what she wanted to say in the middle of a sentence. Her eyes became dull, and she stayed alone. Tonight, I followed her.She paced alone through the dark corridors, almost robotically. When she stepped out into the open air, I stayed put, back there behind the tall hedges. She drifted, her hair brushing the moonlight as she moved across an empty field. Then she stopped. Her body was tense, and her head was tipped to the side. I could see her lips moving but heard nothing. My stomach twisted. It was unnatural and eerie. She was muttering to herself in a low, detached voice as if she were addressing someone only she could see."Celeste?" My voice called gently as I got closer to her. She spasmed violently, her head whipping toward me.

Killian’s POVThe walls of my office had felt too confining, the metal cage of it closing in all around me.Celeste’s voice was running in my head, cutting like a knife. It cut deep enough that I couldn’t focus. How could she see me as a monster? My fists were clenched. I wanted to punch something.I flew out of my office and stalked down to the private training room, shouldering the door open with enough force that it slammed into the wall. The noise hardly penetrated. I grabbed the nearest heavy bag I could find, set my feet, and punched it with abandon. The opening pu

Celeste’s POVI gasped for breath, my chest heaving as I sat up straight. My hands grabbed at the sheets, soaked with sweat; my pulse thumped so hard it vibrated in my skull. Darkness surrounded me, it was close and suffocating. Quickly, I turned on the lamp by my bedside. Something was wrong with me. Every night I woke up sweating with blood on my palm sometimes. I never remembered what I did and was scared I had hurt someone. I balled my fingers into fists, my nails biting into my palms, searching for a tether on the ground. But the nightmare continued to cling to me, unwilling to set me free.Killian’s voice echoed in my head. It was bitter and cruel.“I was never, ever going to let you go, Celeste. You were mine to break."I pressed my eyes shut tight, but images sizzled and burned behind my eyelids. Every time Killian's bloodied hand would reach for me.I couldn't take this anymore. “Leave me alone. Go away!” I yelled, covering my ears as the eerie whispering voice continued

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 73: The Game of The Puppeteer 1

Selene’s POV: Celeste was slipping.I watched her from the mirror every day, fighting against the seed of doubt I had put in her mind. It made me furious to see she still had the spirit to refuse me. I needed her to be done with Killian as fast as possible. Only a great heartbreak could fully awaken her power, and since she was under my spell. I would have access to her powers and be rewarded with immortality. She was almost there. I just needed to add more flame. Something to make her act out and lose Killian's trust. Each time she defied my instructions, I increased the spell’s effect. Twice, she fell off the bed, and I felt my blood boil when Killian came to check up on her just when I started. I made her attack him in her sleep, and he pinned her down till the next morning. She was pathetic, as I expected. On the seventh day, I had completely invaded her mind and made her stay longer doing what I asked. I kept creating and heightening her father's death at the hands of Killi

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 72: Shadows of Betrayal

Celeste’s POVThe darkness lay out before me, waiting still. They reeked of gunpowder and of gas, of memories of where I was and what sort of world this was that I was a captive in. Killian vanished into the dark alley. I had been observing him for days, building up his actions, waiting to get the timing perfect to reveal him for who he actually was.A murderer. The man who killed my father. The image burned my mind, pushing me on as I crept noiselessly down the manor corridors. I easily moved past the room leading to the doorway. The lower I descended, the more I felt smothered. I kept following him, and almost gave up when he walked into another hallway. I remained behind, resting against the courtyard wall as Killian stood beneath the faint illumination of the overhead light bulbs. He was not alone. There were other men around him, and they were standing too close. His tone was low, and each sentence softly commandingly declared. "The delivery will be made at dawn. Any hindra

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 71: A Mind Unraveling

Killian’s POVCeleste's body trembled in my arms, her breath turned irregular, her chest became cold. The moment I saved her back from falling, something within me twisted. It was the sick, disgusting awareness that I had nearly lost her.I had saved her from committing suicide, but that was not what unsettled me. When I pulled her away from the hug gradually, I noticed her eyes. They glowed…green. No normal wolf had eyes like that, and even if she weren't a normal wolf. I had first seen her eyes when her birthmark had glowed and they were blue. She floated in and out of consciousness from the second I drew her away from the edge of the stairs."Celeste," I whispered, shaking her lightly. But She gave no response. Her lashes fluttered, and her lips opened, but she was held by whatever nightmare pulled at her below. My jaw tightened as I dragged her back in. As her body tensed in my arms, a harsh whisper fell from her lips."Please…don't…kill him."Kill who?I was scared for her. She'd

Celeste’s POVI felt warm and safe. Killian’s steady breathing kept me at peace. His arm held me closer to him. I could stay like this forever. I felt it, the sudden movement of something creepy pressing against my chest. My mouth opened slightly as I tried to breathe in, and a gust of air moved in my nose and mouth. “Wake up,” the voice whispered. It wasn't mine and I couldn't ignore it. “Wake up,” it commanded. Its voice was stronger and I shivered. My eyelids opened, even when I felt sleepy. I got off the bed and slowly turned my gaze to Killian. He stirred in his sleep, turning a little bit to his right. I felt a silent war waged inside me. What was wrong with me? I couldn't control my body. “Killian is a liar.” The voice in my head spoke. It was confident and demanding. I listened to every one of its words and agreed with every one of them. “For myself,” I repeated calmly and glared at Killian with a murderous intent. Staring at him, the room changed into a different
