Celeste’s POV

The sun was blazing in the afternoon sky, sending strong beams through the trees. The forest felt alive, and the rustling leaves seemed to cheer as we walked.

The heat stuck to my skin as I stood in the clearing, trying to catch my breath, my body aching from many failed tries.

“Again,” Selene's voice cut through the heavy air.

I clenched my fists in frustration. My heart was racing as I tried to reach the wolf spirit inside me that wouldn’t respond. I felt it stir for a moment, but then something pushed back from the inside, rejecting me.

A sharp pain burst in my chest. Immediately, a powerful force pushed me back, and I groaned, flying backwards without control over my body.

Everything blurred as the ground rushed toward me.

Before I crashed into a tree, a pair of strong arms caught me, and I smelled the earth and wind. It was Vanessa.

"Enough!" Vanessa growled, holding me steady while I tried to breathe. "She’s not ready, Selene. You’re pushing her too hard."

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 185

CELESTE'S POVOne week.I had just one week until Killian was completely gone, turned into someone else. One week, and then the help I should provide would be useless; one week, and I would have failed in life for the rest of my life. If I don't find a way to eliminate Malthus, I will lose my mate forever. That thought alone was enough to fuel me into acting. I jolted up from the seat again and faced Sam. “I think I need to go, I have to go back to the Moonstone Howl pack, there might be something closer to success than there is here.” I don't know what exactly I was going to do there, but I just can't sit still."What?" Killian and Sam inquired at the same time. Without bothe

JEREMY'S POVWe were on the run for the past couple of days. I knew Killian was a determined bastard, but I had no idea he was this determined, especially when it comes to prisoners. I mean, you wanted to get rid of him anyway. Now that he has escaped, doesn't that make the work a lot more easier for you?"Dammit, I stepped on a pool of mud." Victor winced from behind. That was all he had been doing, wincing and heaving like a child since we left the pack."Well, step out of it, is not that hard, you know." I didn't even bother turning back to glance at him or what he was doing."Exactly what I am doing." There was a bit of an attitude in his voice as he sp

CELESTE'S POVKilliam opened the door, expecting to see only Sam, as he was the one who had knocked. When he saw me behind Sam, he took a step back in what I could only describe as annoyance and was about to vent his anger at his brother when I spoke. "I am just here to pick up something; you don't have to lash out at him." It took a lot of willpower to come up with civilized words to say. I wanted to scream, to explode, to cry on his chest, and ask him why he was doing this to me. But instead, I swallowed uneasily and sauntered to the walk-in closet away from the side of the room where he went. I had some of my father's diaries stored in there, and if I wasn't mistaken, he did mention something about Malthus in it too. My father is a writer. Not like he published books or anything, but he was better off communicating his feelings to his journals. He had lots of them, and I never spared time to read through not even half of them. When I was leaving the Moonstone Howl Pack, I packed

CELESTE'S POVMy emotions were on the loose, swirling all over the place with no way to tackle them. From anger, to fear, to confusion, everything was just jumbled up so bad it's slowly making me insane. I don't know where to start, what to even do, or who to go to. Since Killian had taken over my room and refused to let me in, I have been camping in his, drowning myself in stress and annoyance. No matter how much I despise Logan, I would have reached out to him for help, but I have seen him. He is super busy, pressed to the neck performing Killian's duty, and I am not that evil to add my stress to him, even though I knew he would want to help since it involves his golden Alpha. But since Victor escaped the dungeon, with the help of someone who is still not yet recognized, he has been working his ass off trying to recapture the criminal but so far, I could tell there was no progress. It's at moments like this that I would have felt bad for his mate. The guy barely has time to breathe

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 181

SAM'S POV Thoughtfully and carefully, I picked the book again and side-stepped him, moving to the other side of the bed, all while his eyes followed my every movement. "You better get used to having me around, I will not be thrown away so easily. Also, do me a favour and pass the same words to Malthus if you can." I squinted my questionable eyes at him before turning my attention back to the book. I need to see if Celeste's father had written on how to get rid of Malthus. Like pieces of a puzzle, everything had fallen into place after reading the Journal. Celeste's father's warning her about an ancient Lord of werewolves who would come after her seemed to have answered all our questions and curiosity. Coupled with the fact that he mentioned he would attach himself to someone close to her if he couldn't get to her directly, protected by her powers. That only meant one thing and needed no further explanation. Said Lord is currently lurking somewhere in Killian's body, and we need to

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 180

SAM’S POV“Let me.” I seized the book from Killian’s trembling hands. Don’t know if it’s the aftermath of his blowup, but he seemed a bit slower at everything now. He groaned under his breath but didn’t attempt to take the book back. I sat on the bed before I dove in, somehow anticipating something that would blow my mind even though I have no idea what it contains past the first page. Killian lingered above me, still standing while I went through the insanely thick paper of every page. The second page more or less contained what I could only describe as an introduction; he was explaining to Celeste what power she possessed. “The Lunaris power isn’t something to be messed with, it isn’t something to take lightly as well.” It says. “You are powerful, and although you haven’t realized it yet, you will. I am writing to guide you as I might not be around when you reach your full potential.” “Let’s keep this back, man, this is her personal stuff.” Killian attempted to pull away the book
