SAM’S POV

Next, I made it to Kael’s.

He was in his training field when I arrived, surrounded by his guards. Kael is the only one among the elders who has combat skills. He would have made a very good name for himself if he wasn’t an elder.

“These skills could be put to use, it would be a shame to have an asset like him standing against me.” I thought to myself as I watched him handle his sword with abrupt and precise movements. I don't even think he noticed me watching.

In a matter of minutes, he had gotten all seven guards surrounding him to surrender, and he tossed the sword on the well-trimmed grass and moved toward where I stood. I guess he did notice me.

“Sam?” He called as if he wanted to confirm if it was truly me before he could speak out the rest of the words hanging on his tongue.

“Sam,” I confirmed with a little head bow in respect. A fighter will simply have my heart anytime. Even though I would rather chew on my own tongue than let it be known to him that I adore him.
