Chapter 170 – Divided Hearts

Zarina's POV

The silence after the seer spoke was louder than any scream.

Cara was still on her knees, her hands shaking, tears streaming down her face. She looked up at the seer in shock, as if begging her to take it back. But the seer didn't. She just stood there, calm, her hand now by her side.

"There is no child in her womb," the seer said again, slower now, her voice a thunderclap that rolled through the air. "She has lied to this pack."

The words sliced like lightning.

I didn't move. My feet were planted, my heart pounding in my chest. Asher stood beside me, silent but fuming. His fists were balled. I knew him well enough to feel the conflict in his heart.

But before we could say or do anything… a third voice cut through the tension.

"That doesn't make her a liar."

They all turned. One of the elders, Elder Mica, stepped forward. He was one of the oldest, and he was always kind to Cara.

Chapter 170 – The Council’s JudgmentZarina’s POVThe day after the gathering, everything felt too quiet.Even the wind seemed to move more gently, like it was afraid to disturb the silence that had fallen over the pack. The truth had been revealed—Cara was never pregnant. Her lies were exposed before everyone. The seer had spoken, and the spirits had confirmed it.But somehow… not everyone believed it.I sat by the window in our room, brushing my fingers over the small wooden rattle one of the nannies had made for the triplets. The sunlight filtered through the curtains, warm against my skin, but it didn’t calm my heart.“Asher,” I said softly, turning to him as he buttoned his shirt. “Do you think they’ll finally let this go?”He paused for a moment, his hand frozen mid-button, then slowly looked at me. His expression was hard to read.“I wish I could say yes,” he replied. “But last night, I received a message from Elder Tovan. The council wants to meet. Immediately.”My heart sank.

⸻Chapter 169 The Gathering of TruthZarina’s POVThe day finally came. The sky was soft with morning light, and the wind danced gently across the packhouse grounds. It felt like something important was about to happen. I stood by the window, holding a cup of warm tea in my hands, staring out at the large clearing where the gathering would happen. This was Asher’s plan, but we both agreed it was time. Time for truth. Time for peace. It wasn’t just about me anymore. It was about our children. About our future. About the pack we were building, the one we wanted to make stronger. And lies had no place in it.“Asher,” I whispered as he stepped into the room, fully dressed in his Alpha robes. “Are you sure?”He came over, placed his hand on my shoulder, and kissed my forehead. “She’s played this game long enough. If she’s lying—then she’ll be exposed in front of everyone.”“And if she somehow escapes it again?”“She won’t.” His voice was firm. “The seer we’re bringing today… she sees what’

I sat by the window, combing my fingers through my hair, watching the trees sway gently in the wind. My heart beat faster than usual. Today was the day the seer would arrive.Beside me, Asher was quiet. He hadn’t spoken much since we woke up. I knew he was nervous too.We had spent days planning this moment—pretending something powerful was coming to the pack, something that needed blessings from every true heir of the Alpha bloodline. We wanted to catch Cara in her lie. We wanted her to expose herself. And we wanted the truth to come out in front of everyone.A knock came at the door.Asher stood and went to answer it. The guards stepped aside and let in a woman dressed in a long robe of deep green and silver. Her hair was white, but her face was young. Her eyes glowed like silver moons. She was not from our pack, but everyone would know she was a tru

Asher. He was awake already, his eyes watching me, a smile on his lips."Good morning," he said softly.I smiled too. "Good morning."We didn't say anything for a few moments. We just lay there, holding hands, the peaceful before the storm.Because today… everything would change.Once we dressed and shared a sparse breakfast together, Asher grabbed my hand and pulled me out. But this wasn't any sort of celebration. It was a test. A trap. A silent war.Asher stood beside me, his shoulders squared, voice calm. But I could feel the weight in him. We were both nervous. We had to pretend this was about the safety of the pack. About so
