CHAPTER 3

CHAPTER 3: Blackville

BLAIR

"Where are you going again, young lady?"

I sighed. I showed my sad face to my old Aunt Carolina before pouting. She's at it again. With her creased forehead, both hands were on her waist, staring at me intently with her strict pose. Ahh...Aunt Carolina won't be Aunt Carolina without that kind of pose. That's her signature look everytime I attempt on going out.

"I'll just..." I trailed off slowly and shrugged. "Stroll down...the stream?" I asked teasingly.

She sent me a death glare but my smile widened even more. I really have to convince her, like really really convince her because I want to go out today. It's been two days since that unfortunate event happened and right now, I'm convinced that I won't be crossing the same paths with that stupid dog again. And if ever that I'll be able to meet him again, well, I won't waste any time and slice his head off his body for invading my space that day.

She scoffed at me before rolling her eyes. "You won't be going anywhere."

"Carolina!" I stomped my feet. I've been a good girl for the whole two days. I didn't even planned to escape nor go out, but here she is, still not granting me the freedom to go out of the house surrounded by her spells! She don't trust me! That's for sure! And I don't know if I should be hurt or what.

She glared at me before snapping her fingers in the air. And the next thing I know, I was already floating and was thrown outside of the house.

"Argh!" I grunted, irritated of the fact that she's using her magic tricks on me again. "You can't shut me up! I will escape!" I shouted. I stood up and fixed myself.

Seconds later, I saw her going out of the house with her basket on her arms. She's wearing her black cloak again, which she usually used everytime that she's going out.

"Ha!" I huffed. "That's so unfair of you, Aunt Carolina! You're going out of the house freely while I can't?!"

She raised her brow before showing me the other black cloak that she's been carrying the whole time. I didn't even notice because I was too focused on being dramatic. "Thought of bringing you with me. But since, you're being a bitch right now. Na-uh. Might as well keep the cloak."

My eyes widened. She was about to put it inside her basket but I immediately ran to her side. I held her arm, stopping her from keeping the cloak back.

"Auntie..." I cooed so softly. "I was just joking for today's video."

"What?" Her forehead creased. I pouted. I don't even know what that words mean. Humans are using that kind of expression in their world and I was able to easily adapt.

"It's a human expression, Auntie. And of course, you won't understand that because you're a witch...and old."

"What did you say, Blair?!" Her eyebriws furrowed. Amgry of the fact that she was called an old woman.

"You're old but gorgeous and sexy!" I grinned. Of course not. She's not sexy and gorgeous. She's old, but because she's a witch, she managed to look like she's on her mid 40's right now.

She scrutinized me from head to toe before she rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Wear that cloak and follow me."

"Of course, Aunt..." I grinned widely. I fixed the axe on my back before wearing the cloak.

"We're going to the town, Aunt?"

"Stop asking questions, Blair." I rolled my eyes but didn't talk anyway. I'm worried that she might change her mind and completely lock me up inside the house with its huge barricade if I won't stop talking. She's really scary. And I think, she's the only witch that can scare me. Tch. I'm not even proud of that.

When we were finally out from the huge barricade of the house, that only the both of us can see. She casted and whispered some spell that I don't really understand before walking away.

My forehead creased. I slightly raised my brow when I saw how her magic worked. I can never be really used to these.

Her, being an old witch still amazed me.

I shrugged before following her.

I narrowed my eyes at the entrance of the forest before scoffing. I remember that dog again who fvcking licked and sucked my neck! How dare him! I am slightly thankful that Aunt Carolina wasn't aware of who I am with that day.

I looked at her back intently.

It's impossible.

It would be really impossible if she didn't knew that I was with a dog that day. She's probably just...keeping it silent. She's a witch. And she know her ways in everything, that's for sure. But why...why didn't she asked me about that?

I sighed and shook the idea off in my head.

I want to enjoy being free right now...and not to think of someone who's unworthy, like that dog!

When we arrived at the Town of Blackville, the noisy surrounding immediately greeted me. The town of Blackville is full of witches, sorcerers, and wizards. In short, this is a town where different creatures gather. And no one wanted to mess up with these kind of creatures or they'll be cursed to death.

This is my second time here, and just like how my first day went back then, the creatures immediately throw their heads at me before they murmured.

"Mortal. She's a mortal. A human being."

I rolled my eyes. I know right. I know that I'm mortal and they don't have to rub that on my face. And so? I'm sure that they won't harm me. They can try and mess up with me, but I'm sure that I will slice their heads off or Aunt Carolina will smash them. Either of the two, both aren't really safe.

"Cover your head, Blair. You're showing your face to them again. They can't be trusted." Aunt said before holding my wrist. I sighed before fixing the cloak on my head. It will cover half of my face now since it was designed to be bigger than my size. It covered my eyes particularly, but since Aunt Carolina put some spell on it, I can still be able to see behind the cloak that's covering my eyes. I can see but the other creatures won't be able to do it. Not unless, someone's more than powerful than my aunt. He or she would be able to decipher the spell that my Aunt had cast on.

Anyways, I'm confident that my Aunt is not just a witch. She's more than that. And it would be a death if someone will cross her path.
