“I think that’s completely out of context here. You are trying to say that the masked man wasn’t Bane but Killian. No no, I think you’re mistaken. Killian could do many despicable things but not to kill someone. He would never kill someone,” I said.

“I only assumed. I never said that he was the one that killed Melo,” Laura said. “Let’s forget about this topic. How are you feeling now? Do you need anything.”

“I don’t need anything, Laura. I want to apologize for being such a burden to—”

Laura placed her index finger against my lips and I stopped talking.

“Don’t ever see yourself as a burden to me. You’re not a burden to me.”

“Does this mean you’ve forgiven me?” I asked while looking into her eyes.

“Shut up and sleep!” She ordered furiously as she went to bed.

I giggled.

One day you’ll forgive me, Laura. And that day is when you’ll know the reason why I chose to run away from the palace. I didn’t run away of my own accord, I thought.
