Lucian was still breathless when he stepped out of the combat ring.

Not from exertion.

Not from pain.

But from his opponent.

From the way Valen's hand had felt in his, warm and electric. From the burning look in his eyes that scorched deeper than any blade. From the unbearable pull—raw and primal—that his wolf felt every time he was near.

Valen wasn’t just another recruit.

And that terrified him.

But terror had no place at Blackmoon. Especially not for someone of his rank.

So when a messenger found him just as he reached the dorms, handing over a note bearing the crest of the high instructors' tower, his stomach coiled.

Instructor Rhys Calloway, had summoned him.

The head of combat strategy. A veteran of the Northern Pack Wars. The man responsible for training the next generation of Alphas—and a figure Lucian had never once disappointed.

Until now.

Lucian stood in front of the tall oak doors of the instructor’s office, heart steady, posture perfect.

He knocked once.

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Nineteen: The Edge Of Want

Lucian said nothing for a long moment, and the silence between them was deafening. His jaw was tight, his hands clenched at his sides. But his expression—gods, his expression— It was like he’d caught her mid-transformation.

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Eighteen: Between Curiosity And Claim

Rayne sat on a bench tucked deep into the wooded perimeter, the noise of the courtyard muted beneath the canopy above. Her fingers trembled where they clutched the edge of her cloak. She was still reeling. From Jace. From the kiss. From everything she couldn’t name.Jace had fallen in love with her. This wasn't what she wanted. But Jace was a good friend, the only one who knew her secret and has been by her side to ensure she never got caught. She sighed deeply as she turned around hoping to see him with a tray of food. But it's been several minutes he left and still no sign of Jace.Rayne stood up and head back to the courtyard in search of him.---More girls had began to circulate the crowd now, pairing off with Alphas who approached them eagerly. Some flirted, others brushed fingers and whispered promises of what the night could bring. A few couples were already slipping away into the inner halls where the actual festivities would begin—behind closed doors and out of sight.Rayne

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Seventeen: The Kiss And The Claim

Rayne barely had time to breathe before the air between them shifted—charged, trembling. The warm flicker of torchlight danced across Jace’s face, casting shadows in his dark eyes, and for a moment… something else shimmered there. Not just concern. Not just friendship.Something deeper.Something dangerous.“Jace?” she asked, voice tentative. He didn’t answer. Not with words. In the space of a heartbeat, he stepped forward, his hand rising to cradle the side of her face. His thumb brushed her cheekbone—gentle, reverent—and then his lips were on hers.Soft. But sure.It wasn’t a lustful kiss. It wasn’t instinct-driven.It was something far more terrifying. It was honest.Rayne’s eyes flew wide, her breath catching as the world around her blurred and vanished into that single point of contact. She didn’t move—not away, not closer—frozen in the shocking press of Jace’s mouth against hers. And then, just as quickly, he pulled back.Silence.Rayne blinked up at him, lips parted, utterly du

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Sixteen: Luna's Arrival

The air shimmered with excitement. From the upper balconies of Blackmoon’s training halls, banners of deep silver and blue fluttered in the breeze. Torches lit the outer walls, their golden light bathing the academy in a warm, ceremonial glow. The scent of roasted meats, sweet bread, and freshly brewed moonwine drifted from the Great Hall, mingling with the primal hum of wolves barely restrained.Rayne stood near the back, dressed in her standard Blackmoon uniform—combat boots, black tunic, silver-trimmed cloak—nothing that screamed “mate-worthy.” Her hood was drawn low, masking her face. As she stood still watching as the gates to Blackmoon were drawn open with a slow, dramatic groan. Then—they arrived. The Lunaria girls stepped through in a formation so elegant, it felt choreographed. There were dozens of them. Maybe fifty. Some tall and regal, others petite and sweet-faced. Each one wore a different variation of the Lunaria ceremonial gown—deep violets and pale silvers that hugged

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Fifteen: The Weekend of Temptation

The sun had barely risen the next day when the academy bells rang louder than usual, their deep chimes echoing through the stone halls of Blackmoon Academy. The air was still crisp from the lingering chill of the Moonrise Trials, but a strange current rippled beneath the surface of the morning silence—a hum of energy, excitement, anticipation. In the central courtyard, students began to gather, bleary-eyed and bruised from the night before but drawn out by the unmistakable sound of the head instructor’s voice projected through the academy-wide speaker rune system.“All students who survived the Moonrise Trials,” came the deep, commanding voice of Head Instructor Rhys Calloway, “congratulations. You have proven yourselves worthy of the title Alpha in training. Your strength, instinct, and endurance have been tested under the full moon’s gaze, and you’ve emerged victorious.”Cheers erupted across the courtyard, scattered but spirited. Rayne stood at the edge of the crowd, hidden beneath

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Fourteen: Shadows After The Moonrise

The forest was quiet now.The carnage of the Moonrise Trials lay behind them like a bloody memory, fading into the mist that curled along the academy’s training fields. Most of the participants were nursing wounds or celebrating their survival in the dorms. But not Rayne. She walked in silence through the thickened grove near the eastern ridge, where the trees grew close together and the moonlight barely pierced through the canopy. Jace followed behind her, silent at first, until they reached the edge of a secluded clearing near the academy’s perimeter wall.Rayne exhaled and sat on the worn trunk of a fallen tree. Her limbs ached. Her skin burned in places where the trial had left its mark. But it wasn’t the bruises or the exhaustion that had brought her out here.It was the fear. The way Lucian had looked at her. Like he knew the truth she was barely keeping hidden.Jace leaned against a nearby tree, crossing his arms. “You haven’t said much since we got back.”Rayne lifted her eyes

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Thirteen: Secret Beneath The Moon

The full moon rose like a watchful eye above Blackmoon Forest, pale and pitiless.Beneath its light, the students stood silent, lined up in perfect rows outside the Trial Gate. No one spoke. No one dared.Rayne's hands were fists at her sides, her heart galloping. Her wolf paced within her, teeth bared. Not from fear—but from anticipation. Blood was in the air. The kind that stirred instinct.Across the clearing, Lucian Wolfe stood like a statue carved of obsidian. Commanding. Still. But his golden eyes, glowing faintly in the moonlight, weren’t still at all. They burned—and they were fixed on her.Head Instructor Rhys Calloway stepped forward, his voice like stone cracking.“The Moonrise Trials,” he began, “are not for the faint-hearted. They are not a game. Not a test to see who’s the strongest in combat, or who can throw the farthest punch.”His gaze swept the crowd, cold and unblinking.“They are a reckoning.”Rayne held her breath.Calloway continued, “As tradition dictates, the

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Twelve: Trial By Moonlight

The forest was silver. Not green. Not brown. Not wild.Just silver—every leaf, every shadow, every breath of wind caught in a strange, glimmering stillness. The moon hung low and heavy in the sky like it was watching him.Lucian stood in the middle of it all, shirtless, barefoot, the dirt cool beneath his skin, but his body—burning. His pulse was wild.He could feel the beat of it echoing inside his chest, inside his veins. His wolf stirred.Something was coming. He turned slowly. The trees shifted. The leaves whispered. Then he saw it.A wolf.Pure white.Too small to be an Alpha. Lithe and sleek and impossibly fast as it stepped between shafts of silver light. Its coat shimmered like snow in the moonlight, but its eyes—its eyes were the color of wildfire.Amber. Sharp. Knowing. The moment he met them, something inside Lucian cracked wide open.Bond.The word wasn’t said.It was felt.Like lightning arcing from soul to soul. His breath caught. The white wolf stepped closer, slow, cau

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Eleven: The Mask That Might Break

The sun rose like a blade over Blackmoon Alpha Academy, slicing through the veil of night with a pale, golden chill. Rayne stood among the other trainees in the main courtyard, her limbs sore from yesterday’s match but her mind sharper than ever.Lucian stood across the formation. He hadn’t looked at her once. Not since last night. Not after the words they’d shared.Words she couldn’t stop hearing. “I can feel it. I know it. Who are you, Valen?”Rayne forced herself to focus. To breathe. To stand as Rei Valen—Alpha-born, rogue-raised, and very much a boy in the eyes of everyone present.Their training instructor, Alpha Draven, paced in front of the assembled trainees. His heavy boots thudded with purpose.“All of you have trained hard,” he began, voice booming across the square. “You’ve bled, bruised, and endured.”Rayne stood straighter, ignoring the sting in her ribs from yesterday’s spar.“But next week,” he continued, “you’ll be tested in a way that separates the wolves from the
