Chapter 16 ADRIA’S POV I looked at the knife in my hand, and wondered how I was going to kill someone. It was going to be hard for me as I had never done anything like this. “Adria.” I heard a soft voice call out my name, and the breeze caressed my back. I gasped in shock and looked around as swift as I could. I licked my lips in fear and widened my eyes to be at alert to catch a glimpse of any move of my opponent. “Who are you? And why do you keep calling my name?” I questioned as I looked left and right, and then back and front. Then I heard a laughter that seemed like it was sounding faraway. “Do you really intend to kill me? I didn’t decide to kill you when you got here, but you have the guts to come at me first. Can you really handle me? Can you get my blood!” The voice blurted out curtly. “I…I don’t want to. I really don’t want to, but how do I do it? My time is running out, and if I fail this task, I may never be able to make it out of here alive. I do not even know wher
Chapter 17 ADRIA’S POV My heart began to beat fast without rest, and I began to drag my body back little by little. But the Great Vampire’s steps seemed faster than the pace at which I moved. But to my surprise, the Great Vampire only picked up the book that had fallen, which was beside me. Even as she picked up the book, I still felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest. The three Vampires rushed in, looking like they feared that she had seen me. But to me, it seemed like she didn’t see me. She couldn’t purposely ignore me as she looked like a really thirsty vampire. Even Veronica, Valerie, and Victoria, looked as surprised as I was. The Great Vampire had passed me by, and placed the book in a vacant space in the bottom shelf. They gazed at me and then gazed at the Great Vampire, and I could tell that they were wondering what had just happened. “Oh, my goodness. She can’t see me.” I thought to myself happily. “I guess you aren’t ready to fix up the ladder.” The Great
Chapter 18 ADRIA'S POV. I blinked after hearing that statement and you can't imagine what happened in that single blink. I blinked only to open my eyes and meet myself somewhere different. A rock dropped in my tummy, and I took a step back, turning around as wind blew my hair into my face harshly. "Gosh." I exclaimed softly as I looked around. Everywhere had a dark atmosphere but I could still see, and my heart began to throb. Where was I? Could I really be in my nightmare? It almost felt like looking into smoke. There were trees around but they were only a few and they rustled to the sound of the wind. All around me was a vast piece of land. It somewhat had a resemblance to a desert for I was standing on sand which was definitely a few feet deep. The trees all gave an eerie aura. It felt like they were all staring at me and the wind continued to howl in my ears, shouting and communicating words I couldn't understand. I didn't want to stay there. I wanted to leave. I pushed away
Chapter 19 LUCIEN'S POV. I had not imagined it would bother me as much as that to be worried sick about Adria. She was but a human and I had heard so many cases of humans who died from ailments. I gave another long sigh as I poured water from a jug into my glass. Adria was sick, so her friends told me. That was the reason she had been absent from school, and also the reason I had not seen her for days. I really hoped she would be fine. All of me really wanted to pay a visit but it wasn't professional of a professor to visit a sick student. It was something that would arouse suspicions. Another sigh escaped my lips and I drank the water in the glass in one go, then dropped it a little too hard, making a crack appear in the cup. Then I left the kitchen and went to my living room. I lay down on the couch and closed my eyes. Just a few days and I already missed her as bad as that. And there had still been the unsolved issue of her fear—she was still scared I was going to do somethin
Chapter 20 LUCIEN'S POV. I was horrified as I faced a hideous creature that I hadn't seen in all my life. I couldn't explain the way I felt. Was it fear at having that creature touch me or was it just plain disgust. The creature had a large muscular body frame that could be about three of me put together, but it had the face of a woman and that face was horrible. Her eyes were ink black and seemed to have vivid red veins connecting to it. She had two holes instead of nostrils and instead of teeth, she had worms… Worms protruding out of her mouth, amd floating all around, squirming and looking disgusting. My tummy crawled, totally repulsed by the strange creature. "You. Finish." She said with a growl and in a second, she ran towards me but I already held up my claws and she ran right into them. My hand m0ved back from the force but it still did the job as the horrific woman gave a howl of pain. I was able to escape and get back to my feet immediately she was distracted and I d
Chapter 21 ADRIA'S POV. I fell backwards immediately as a fierce gasp escaped me. I moved back quickly as it had been so close to me, and I lost my balance once more, falling to the floor. At that rate, I couldn't keep count of the number of times I had fallen. I had simply been in a state of continuous shock ever since I had met myself when I was. It felt like building up to a frequency at which it was going to burst, splatter and leave me dead. Standing behind me was a figure in a black hood. It towered over me menacingly, but I couldn't see its face, and just then the wind picked up slowly. Something tickled my hair and I caught it immediately, only to find it was my hair. "Please…" I heard myself whisper as I began to try my best to shift as far away as I could away from it, but my hands were too shaky to hold their ground on the floor. They buckled, and gave way, making me lay flat on the floor. I immediately, sat up, and scrambled to my feet, all the while keeping my eye on
Chapter 22 ADRIA'S POV. I was going down effortlessly, plunging down the tree I had climbed with much effort, and falling to a sure death. My heart was flying as it had left whatever it always sat on and there was that helpless feeling I hated. I shook my legs and arms, screaming and trying to hold onto something but I only got hit by numerous branches bouncing off them until I reached branch which had no other branch underneath it. It meant nothing was going to break my fall. I kept on going down and down at the speed of lightning and finally, I hit the ground with a scream. My breath was seized, and slowly I began to let it go, wondering if I had injured my nerves or they had all died, because I couldn't feel a single thing. It had been a painless fall. I gasped in relief, and waited to see if I was going to feel the pain again but it didn't come. It seemed ridiculous. I could feel tired, exhausted, breathless, and sore but I couldn't feel pain? Just then, I felt something wet,
Chapter 23 ADRIA'S POV. My eyes flew open and I looked at saw my friends who were still staring at me with worry, I tilted my head so I could look at my feet. Daniel's hand was on it and he took it off immediately he realized I was staring at it. "I'm sorry. I thought you wanted to sleep for days again." He apologized, raising his hand, and tears came to my eyes. I began to cry. What had happened to me? "Something is wrong with me." I cried out to them. "Something is wrong with me." I repeated, crying hard. Why was I made to go through all that? What had I gone through all that? I hadn't offended anyone, nor had I stuck my nose up in anyone's business. I was always on my own or with my friends so why did I have to experience all that? Water rolled down the corners of my eyes down to my ears, and I shivered when they trickled inside, but I didn't stop crying. "Adria. Adria, honey what's wrong?" Stacy asked, taking my hand and looking like she was in trouble. "I feel it. Somethin
