Alan's POV

When I returned, a cloud of tension had emerged over the heads of my beta and his seeming love interest.

"Why do you look so pale?" I observed Elara's astounded glance and followed it inside the assembly hall through the flimsy curtain. 

My fist clenched as I watched that dreadful scene unfolding in the room. Jonah was standing with a fire torch and Sebestian was being soaked with Kerosene. 

He was on the floor with a twisted arm. He was struggling to pick himself up on his quivering arms but in vain. Jonah pushed him down on the ground with his feet on the face.
