Clara’s POV When I stepped down from my car, I slapped my hand over my mouth at the disgusting scent that made me want to vomit. The ground beneath me shook as I made my way to the fire that had probably destroyed everything inside the tomb by now. "Martin?" The lump inside my throat grew as I choked out his name when I found him standing by the tomb, watching his entire family turn into dust. The Redwood and the Aries family were a legacy. They all were kept down here, in the same tomb and now they were all being burned together, in the same flame. Ironic. "Clara?" Martin turned around and pulled me into his arms without wasting a second. "I thought you were inside." His head sank into the depth of my neck while his arms sealed around my back. "What?" "He told me-he-big fucking liar." Martin crouched down and picked me up in his arms, giving me a never-ending hug along with a couple of grateful kisses across my cheeks and lips. I ignored the fire behind him for as long as I c
Clara’s POV I paced around the room after gaining some strength and conciseness. From the outside, it seemed like the sun had fallen and the moon had taken its position. I lost count of time when I fell asleep but I assumed it had been a couple of hours now. I was nervous, chewing on my lips and my lips while waiting. I didn't really understand what the dream meant and what the woman was trying to tell. There was a task that was going to be given to Martin and if he did it rightfully, all the trouble would leave our world. But what if he didn't? What would happen then? I knew Martin was dumb in making decisions. I didn't trust him in this at all but again, I needed to have some kind of hope. Suddenly, I felt something, a strong wave that went through my body, a relief. The door flew open by itself and I stood there frozen, wondering what happened. There was no one behind the door, just a hallway to a few more apartments. After taking another peak, I ran outside and kept running.
Martin’s POV From the corner of my eyes, I saw Isreal hurriedly entering inside the room, terror across his face as he expected me to kill his Father one more time. I couldn't. He had information about Clara’s whereabouts and until I couldn't get it, I couldn't kill him. By what it sounded, he had taken her somewhere, forcibly. I knew she wasn't going to go with him anywhere, especially after knowing everything. "Join in. Maybe this time you'll see how many faces your Father has." I shot my glance at Isreal who stopped by the door after seeing us. The worry slowly wore off his face and he came inside, looking as curious as me. I wasn't angry—I was simply tired. The facade Aston put up was unnecessary, his return was an unnecessary problem. I still had no idea what he was doing here but I suppose we were going to get our answers soon. Peace was still resting upstairs, completely safe. He wasn't going to get a glimpse of Clara or where she was taken too. She was my responsibility an
Clara’s POV Hours had passed by. I was in pain. It was mainly the bite that was killing me. The medicine had worn off and I could feel my leg, including the wound. There was another medicine Aston kept on the table inside the room I was locked up in, it was for the pain but I resisted from taking anything he offered. When he came to my room in the hospital, I was confused and weak from just walking up twelve hours after getting injured. He wrapped a rope around my throat and threatened to kill me if I didn't walk out with him. I didn't want too but he didn't give me much of an option. I wanted to shift and attack him but neither of that was possible as I was pregnant and shifting into a wolf would immediately bring an end to my pregnancy. So, I left with him. He bought me to a place, nearby one of the warehouses at the outskirts of the town. It was a small room, with a small window at the corner and a few doors that were all locked. I had been here for hours. There was food ar
Martin’s POV "What do you mean that she's gone?" | demanded answers from the people working at the hospital I bought Clara into. "What part do you not understand that she cannot walk out of here alone?" I continued, dropping all my anger over one of the nurse's who was working on the same floor where Clara was admitted. It had been less than an hour since she woke up and she was already gone. How was this even possible? I needed answers and right now. I had spent the past ten minutes arguing with the female wolves who had no idea where Clara had vanished too. They didn't see her leaving or anyone entering her room apart from me and Isreal. Anger roared inside me, setting a flame in my body. I dropped a quick message to Peace to look out for Clara if incase she went home to see Peace. But that wasn't possible either. She couldn't walk on her own, she needed some sort of help. I let the nurse go after I received no answers from her. Glancing at Isreal, I found him speaking with the
Blacking out suddenly was horrifying and waking up to the sound of a heart rate monitor ringing inside your ears was much worse than that. I opened my eyes to a bright light hitting my face and a sharp pain shaking through my body. For a second there, I believed I was going through a surgery and the anaesthesia was just wearing off. But then I heard Martin’s voice. "Good job, Clara." He clapped, applauding me for something I had done. "I hope you are happy after trying to get yourself killed. Such a bliss!" He continued, his words slowly turning into taunts. "I think it was one of her sick fantasies to get killed by a wolf." Isreal’s voice boomed in my ears along with Martin’s and the heart rate monitor that just couldn't stop beeping. Was I in hell? Because if this was hell, I wanted to get out, right now. I opened my eyes wider and sat up straight. My leg, I couldn't feel it, at all. Dashing my head at Martin, I yelled, "You amputated my leg?" I could feel the other one, it was
