A Silver Threat

Author: Alyssa H.
(Charlotte's POV)

Time seemed to freeze as the cold metal of the silver-loaded gun pressed against Natalie's temple. The stranger's eyes were wild, frantic with desperation. My heart pounded in my chest, the classroom suddenly silent except for my own thundering pulse in my ears.

Then, in a split second that felt like an eternity, everything changed.

Samuel Carter stumbled backward, his face pale as death. The gun had been pressed against his waist just moments before—I hadn't even noticed. His eyes darted frantically around the classroom until they landed on me.

"It's her!" Samuel shouted, pointing a trembling finger in my direction. "She's rich! She drives a white custom sports car, a global limited edition!"

What? My mind struggled to process his words.

"That white Bentley outside is hers!" Samuel continued, his voice cracking with desperate relief that the weapon was no longer aimed at him.

The rogue wolf's grip on Natalie's shoulder tightened as he pressed the barrel harder

(Third-person's POV)Lucas his face went white as he stumbled forward, now walking faster than his father as a sudden realization dawned on him.The city was crawling with rogue wolves. Dangerous individuals lurked almost everywhere - desperate creatures who would do anything for the right price. And if the Nightshade pack wanted to make problems for them...He shuddered at the thought, quickening his pace toward their car.Richard Silverstone hurried after his son, casting nervous glances over his shoulder. The mere mention of rogue wolves from Ethan Blake had been enough to send both Silverstone wolves fleeing. The threat couldn't have been clearer: cross the Nightshade pack, and your territory might face some "unexpected visitors."Charlotte Reed stood beside Ethan, watching the retreating figures with undisguised curiosity. Her red dress stood out vividly against the academy's stone facade as she tilted her head in confusion."What was that all about?" she asked, still holdin

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   Unwelcome Visitors

(Third-person's POV)Richard Silverstone and Lucas Silverstone had reached the door of the New Zealand Academy of Art when a voice stopped them cold."Gentlemen, it's been a long time, hasn't it?"Both wolves froze, a chill racing down their spines. They turned slowly, their faces draining of color as they recognized the source of that voice.Ethan Blake stood before them, resplendent in his clashing floral shirt, a predatory smile on his face. The same enforcer who had "hosted" them on that nightmarish yacht in neutral waters. The same wolf who had shown them exactly what happened to those who crossed the Nightshade pack."Ethan Blake," Richard whispered, the name escaping his lips like a prayer of desperation.Lucas stared, paralyzed. His hands began to tremble uncontrollably as memories flooded back – being held over the side of the yacht while Ethan listed, in excruciating detail, exactly how long it would take him to drown if dropped into the cold waters below."What a plea

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   Unexpected Encounters

(Natalie's POV)The gentle pressure of the brush between my fingers still felt slightly awkward. My hand had nearly healed from the kidnapping incident, but I couldn't paint for long periods without discomfort crawling up my arm.I focused on the canvas before me, carefully mixing colors on my palette. The private studio at the New Zealand Academy of Art was quiet today, allowing me to concentrate on my graduation project. The sudden "click-clack" of high heels echoed from the corridor, growing louder with each passing second. I didn't need to turn around to identify the owner of those footsteps.Charlotte Reed burst into my studio like a whirlwind, her copper-red hair bouncing with each step."That flamboyant wolf is driving me crazy!" she announced without preamble, throwing her bag onto the nearest chair.I continued painting, barely glancing up. "Which one?""Your bodyguard! That Ethan Blake!" She began pacing, her heels still click-clacking against the floor. "I wanted to t

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   An Uncomfortable Bath

(Natalie's POV)I withdrew my gaze from Ethan outside the door, Charlotte grabbed my shoulder and shook it, her green eyes wide with disbelief. "Are you stupid? Why aren't you laughing with me?!""Justice has been served," I responded quietly. Her mouth fell open. "Your reaction is so bland! Celebrate with me! His whole life is ruined! All that money spent on such a prestigious major, all gone!"I let the silence linger between us, contemplating the severity of Samuel's punishment. It was fitting—he had tried to rob me of my artistic future, and now he had lost his own."Yes, Samuel Carter's artistic dreams are shattered, doomed to a lifetime of misery," I finally said. Now I understood why Florian had sent for Ethan specifically. This wasn't just about protection—Ethan was the enforcer, the one who handled the messy business of retribution.Charlotte threw her hands up in frustration. "Your reaction is infuriating! How can you always make me so mad?! You've been doing this sinc

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   The Red Dress and The Flowery Shirt

(Ethan's POV)I leaned against the wall outside Natalie's ward, scrolling through my phone with one hand while twirling a silver blade with the other. Hospital duty wasn't exactly what I'd signed up for when I joined the Nightshade pack's shadow branch, but orders were orders. And honestly? This New Zealand posting felt like a vacation compared to my usual tasks. The pack healer's clinic was quiet today. Almost too quiet. I counted five beta enforcers stationed strategically throughout the corridor – all hand-picked by me after the previous security failure. Nobody was getting past us this time.My phone pinged with another message from Zack. I grinned as I read it.*Stop sending me beach photos, you lucky bastard. Some of us are actually WORKING.*I quickly snapped a selfie with the sunlight streaming through the window behind me and sent it back with the caption: *Another day in paradise while you freeze your ass off in the Northern Territory.*His reply came instantly: *I hat

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   A Crossroads

(Florian's POV)I flicked my lighter open and closed, the metallic click punctuating the tense silence between Ethan and me. The sky outside the pack healer's clinic burned orange with the setting sun. Inside, Natalie slept under sedation, her fractured arm carefully bandaged."Is the investigation complete?" I asked, my eyes never leaving the dancing flame as I opened the lighter again.Ethan shifted his weight, his usual confidence wavering. "Yes, Alpha."I snapped the lighter shut. "And?""The information is... complicated.""Complicated how?" My patience was wearing thin. Someone had targeted my mate, broken her arm, pressed a silver gun to her temple. There would be consequences.Ethan cleared his throat. "It wasn't any particular pack, and no identities were exposed. The rogue wolves seemingly had a plan, a clear target, but in actuality, they just wanted to make a quick score and flee the territory."I raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident in my expression. "You expect m

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   Consequences and Protection

(Natalie's POV)The pack healer wrapped my wrist in a bandage, his touch gentle but firm."The bones are fractured in three places, Ms. Silverstone," he said. "You'll need to keep this immobilized for at least three weeks."Three weeks without holding a paintbrush. Three weeks away from my "Ancient Wolf Legends" project. The thought hurt more than my broken arm."Is there any way to speed up the healing?" I asked. The healer shook his head. "Even with werewolf healing, some injuries just need time. Especially ones inflicted with violent intent."I nodded, accepting the reality. The rogue wolf had broken my arm deliberately, applying pressure until the bone snapped."You're fortunate," the healer added. "The fractures are clean. Once healed, you should regain full dexterity."Full dexterity - essential for my work. At least I had that reassurance.Florian entered, his amber eyes immediately finding mine."How is she?" he asked, voice tight."She'll recover completely," the he

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   Violent Retribution

(Third-person's POV)Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! The sound of gunshots ripped through the air, shattering the tense standoff. Natalie's finger squeezed the trigger repeatedly, emptying the magazine with mechanical precision. The silver-loaded gun kicked in her inexperienced hands as she fired blindly, hoping at least one bullet would find its mark. She had never held such a weapon before. The weight felt foreign in her grasp, the metal cold against her palm. She didn't know how to aim properly. She wasn't sure if she would hit anything at all.But she had to fire. The moment before she raised the gun, a primal instinct had flared through the mate bond. Florian felt the shudder of her intention through their connection and reacted instantly. He ducked away from the rogue wolf's aim, moving with supernatural speed. The silver bullets whistled through the air where he had stood just a heartbeat before. The rogue wolf, still bent over the gold-filled briefcase, remained oblivious to the

  • Alpha's Rebellious Luna   A Calculated Risk

(Third-person's POV)An eerie silence settled over the standoff. The rogue wolf's proposal to take Natalie to the territory border hung in the air between them. Florian's face remained impassive, but his amber eyes hardened to cold stone. His silence was more terrifying than any verbal threat. The rogue wolf laughed nervously, misinterpreting Florian's silence as indecision. He tightened his grip around Natalie's neck, pressing the silver gun harder against her temple. A small whimper escaped her lips despite her efforts to stay silent."You think I'm joking?" the rogue wolf snarled. "I'll take her, and you'll get her back when I'm safely away."Natalie's hands were free of the cuffs now, but pain radiated through her broken arm, making her fingers tremble uncontrollably. The silver gun continued to burn against her temple, leaving a mark that would require specialized healing.Between the riverbank and the enforcers, the werewolf students from the New Zealand Academy of Art remai
