Alpha Dominic's POV

The meeting room smelled of parchment, and fear.

I sat at the head of the long stone table, my hands flat against its surface, my claws itching beneath my skin as voices rose and fell around me, honestly listening to these men was a chore at this point. Elders argued about the plans that we already have. Generals reported the numbers. Messengers came and went, their boots echoing against the marble floor like distant thunder.

“The western border has stabilized,” one commander said, pointing to a map etched into the table. “We’ve driven back the remaining rogue scouts. No further breaches in the last forty-eight hours.”

“That doesn’t mean they aren’t regrouping,” Elder Karsis snapped. “Rogues don’t retreat unless they’re planning something worse.”

I barely heard them.

My wolf paced inside me, restless, slamming against my ribs like it wanted out. A low growl vibrated in my chest, unbidden.

Focus, I ordered myself.

Selena’s POVThe cell stank of rot, and a very bad smell that made me want to throw up.I descended the stone steps slowly, deliberately, letting my boots echo so she would hear me coming. I wanted Aurelia awake. I wanted her hunger sharp, her fear sharper. The guards straightened as I passed, eyes downcast, none of them daring to meet my gaze. They knew better. In this place, my word carried weight, sometimes more than Liam’s.When I stopped in front of her cell, I didn’t announce myself.I simply lifted the tray of food in my hands and hurled it at the doorpost. The sound of metal clanging against stone rang through the corridor.Aurelia reacted instantly. She lunged for it like an animal. The sight stopped me short for half a second. She dropped to her knees, fingers shaking as she dragged the tray toward her, shoving food into her mouth without even looking at it. Bread. Meat scraps. Water. She ate like someone who hadn’t been fed in days—cheeks hollow, eyes sunken, hair matted an

Alpha Dominic’s POVThe news reached me like a blade driven straight through my ribs.I was still standing in the ruined eastern hall when the messenger collapsed to one knee before me, dust streaking his armor, chest heaving as though he had run through fire to reach me. The scent of smoke still clung to the stones around us from the last attack, the echoes of fear not yet faded from the walls. My pack members was bruised, shaken, bleeding but alive.Aurelia was not.“Alpha,” the man rasped, bowing his head low. “A message from King Rowan.”My heart was already pounding too hard. My wolf stirred beneath my skin, restless, uneasy, as if it sensed what my mind refused to accept.“Speak,” I ordered.“She was seen,” he said. “Your Luna. Aurelia. Transported across the eastern ravine into Dark Rogue Territory.”The words didn’t make sense at first. They floated in the air between us, empty and wrong.Dark Rogue Territory. An area nearly impossible to infiltrate. A land soaked in blood, ru

Aurelia’s POVPain dragged me back into consciousness. It slammed into me like a wave of ice and fire combined. My breath came out in a broken gasp as my eyes fluttered open, my vision swimming, the stone ceiling above me blurring and doubling. For a moment, I didn’t know where I was. Then the chains bit into my wrists, and memory came crashing down with cruel clarity.Liam.The dungeon. The cold.I tried to move, instinctively pulling my hands toward my chest, and cried out as the iron restraints scraped against raw, swollen skin. My wrists throbbed violently, purple and red where the shackles had rubbed me nearly bloody. Every small movement sent a sharp jolt of pain shooting up my arms.I swallowed hard, my throat dry, my tongue thick. My head pounded, heavy and fogged, like I had been drugged again.“How touching,” a voice said.I lifted my gaze slowly.Liam stood a few steps away, his arms crossed, his scar catching the dim torchlight. He looked rested. Clean. Calm.I hated him f

Alpha Dominic's POV The moment Liam spoke, the ground seemed to recoil. His voice hadn’t been loud. It hadn’t needed to be. There was something in it that made the air feel tighter in my lungs. It's been ages since I heard that voice and I honestly didn't know if I was even ready to hear it at this point. This was a part of me that I wanted to bury so bad.“Well, little brother… welcome home.”The shadows around us moved. They shifted, peeled away from the cavern walls, and became wolves.Rogue wolves burst forward from every direction, above us, behind us, crawling out of cracks in the stone. Their eyes glowed an unnatural gold that was too bright. Their movements weren’t wild or chaotic. They were coordinated.Trained. Like they've been preparing for this ambush.“Protect pack!” someone shouted.I stepped in front of Lyra instantly, my body blocking her view as I shifted mid-motion. Bones cracked, skin tore, and my wolf erupted forward in a violent surge of silver and black. The so

Aurelia’s POVI knew there was going to be trouble the moment Rowan spoke Liam’s name.It was not the word itself, it was what it did to Dominic. The way his shoulders stiffened as if struck. The way the air around him seemed to hollow out, like the room had suddenly lost oxygen.“Impossible,” Dominic said quietly.Rowan did not flinch. He stood firm, hands clasped behind his back, eyes steady as stone. “The evidence disagrees, Dominic.”I watched Dominic’s jaw tighten. His fingers curled slowly, knuckles whitening, like he was gripping onto something only he could see.“He’s dead,” Dominic said again, louder now. “I watched him burn.”Rowan inhaled, long and careful. “You watched a body burn. You are not sure it was his”Silence swallowed the room.I felt it then something fracture. Not loudly. Not all at once. But deep inside Dominic, where old wounds lived.I had seen him furious. Commanding. Ruthless when he needed to be.I had never seen him unravel.I still haven't fully underst
