Chapter 1

Author: Aurora
My Alpha mate Damon had been keeping an Omega mistress, and he even allowed her to birth two half-breed Omega pups.

He thought he had hidden it perfectly, but I had discovered his secret long ago.

I never imagined that the Alpha who once swore to the Moon Goddess that he would protect me with his life would betray me with another woman behind my back.

I cried and threatened him that if he didn't break things off with that woman, I would get rid of their pups and make him regret it for the rest of his life.

But I had done absolutely nothing, their pups disappeared.

Damon cruelly locked me in a silver cage. When the moonlight touched my skin, I would shift uncontrollably.

My massive wolf body was pierced again and again by the spiked silver bars, tearing through flesh and muscle.

He stood there with Serena, looking down at my pathetic state from above.

"Damon, is this what you call loving me? Saying I'm your only Luna?" My hysterical questioning was met with nothing but Damon's cold indifference.

"Aria! Why are you so vicious? Serena has always been kind and never harmed you or the pup. Tell me where my pups with Serena are, and I'll let you go!"

I curled up in agony, my blood pooling on the ground beneath me. If not for the strong life force of our werewolf bloodline, I would have died long ago.

"No... Damon, I didn't do anything to her pups. I was just bluffing..."

In his rage, Damon made the cage contract even more. The spikes drove deeper into my body.

"Do you really think I will still believe you?"

But how could I admit to something I never did?

"I really didn't..."

I struggled to lift my head, only to catch the smug satisfaction in Serena's eyes. "Damon, I don't think she'll talk like this. I'm so worried about our son... A mother always cares most about her own pup... Maybe..."

I couldn't hear her words clearly, but I could see the undisguised malice in her eyes.

"No! Damon! Whatever you want to do, come at me! Don't touch our son! He's your son too..."

Damon's gaze held no warmth as he looked at me. "So what? If you don't hand over my son with Serena today, I'll make sure you and your son die together!"

I struggled desperately, only to see another identical silver cage being carried over beside mine.

Inside lay Lucas, me and Damon’s little pup.

I couldn't imagine what torment my little boy had endured. His clothes were torn to shreds, his white pajamas stained crimson with blood.

Damon lifted my chin with the tip of his shoe. "Well? Still won't talk?"

"I really didn't do anything! Damon! Our son is weak, he can't handle this kind of torture. Please let him go... I'm begging you..."

My pleas only seemed like stubborn defiance to him.

I watched helplessly as the silver cage holding my son grew smaller and smaller, the spikes growing sharper and more deadly.

"Mommy... it hurts..."

My son looked at me with pleading eyes, but I was powerless to help him.

I had only wanted to threaten Damon with that pup, to vent my anger with empty words. I never intended to actually harm anyone.

But now I had doomed my own precious son, my little treasure...

Overwhelming regret crashed over me like a tidal wave.

"The pup has been found! Where?"

A pack member rushed to Damon carrying a blood-covered pup. "In... in Aria's bedroom closet. The little one has always been afraid of the dark, probably fainted from fear..."

I thought that finding the pup would make him release me and my son, but Damon's next words sounded like they came from hell itself.

"Lock them both up! Without my permission, don't let them out!"

"No!"

My helpless cry echoed as I watched their retreating figures disappear into the distance.

Seeing my silence, Damon assumed I was refusing him. Using his last reserves of strength, he clutched desperately at the hem of my robes."Give me one final chance. Let me protect you forever and always... Even if it's just to atone for my sins, as long as I can stay by your side, I'm willing!"Every full moon, I dedicated my entire being to the Moon Goddess, listening to her divine guidance.Half a month ago, she had bestowed upon me the knowledge of how to transform werewolves into the undead.Even then, the Moon Goddess had foreseen everything that would come to pass...As the light in this man's eyes dimmed inch by inch, I knelt down to meet his gaze directly."I promise you, as the leader of all werewolves, that you will become a hero to our entire race."Damon smiled—a devastatingly sad expression. "No. I don't want to be a hero to the werewolf race. I only want to protect you forever and always."I didn't answer him. But he would achieve his heart's desire. What I hadn't expecte

Ever since Damon disappeared from my world, everything had been going perfectly. Not only had I recovered my former powers and freed myself from that toxic relationship, but my career was also flourishing beyond my wildest dreams.Countless wolves had approached me, testing the waters, hoping to become my mate.I maintained a policy of neither encouraging nor rejecting them outright. As the leader of our entire race, having admirers was perfectly natural. But a mate? What was that even worth?Nothing could be more important than being an excellent leader for my people.Werewolves and vampires have been mortal enemies for centuries. For years, the vampires had been quietly rebuilding their strength, biding their time until they could completely eliminate our kind. With our superior physical abilities, the vampires usually avoided direct confrontation. I absolutely would not allow Damon to remain in the position of my mate.Damon still refused to agree, but it didn't matter. I didn't need his agreement. As long as I was willing to pay the price.I had once been a Child of the Moon, but Children of the Moon cannot marry outside their bloodline. To be with Damon, I had abandoned my heritage, and so the Moon Goddess had turned away from me.But the Moon Goddess is the most forgiving deity. As long as I sincerely repented and paid the proper price, I could return to her side.I just needed time to gather my strength.Soon, the day of Damon's trial arrived. All werewolves were subject to the council's authority—even an Alpha was no exception.Under the council's interrogation, Damon confessed to everything he had done. Murdering a Child of the Moon carried the penalty of death. After the council announced their verdict, I appeared dressed in ceremonial robes, looking down at Damon from above. Serena still thought she could rely on her two children to stay in my house. I directly asked the butler to throw them out. They left with nothing—not a penny would they take with them.At the same time, I announced to all werewolves my identity as the Child of the Moon. The Child of the Moon represents the purest bloodline among werewolves—not only possessing overwhelming power during the full moon, but also able to communicate directly with the Moon Goddess herself.Serena and her children were instantly despised by all wolves. How dare they covet the Child of the Moon's mate!Serena was beaten whenever she walked the streets, finally forced to hide in the dark forest.Damon had been imprisoned by the council, but due to his special status as Alpha, they couldn't torture him yet.I submitted evidence to the council of Damon killing our son and demanded our mate bond be severed. When Damon learned of all this, he actively requested to see me.This time, the one locked in the silver ca

Looking at the group before him, Damon's aggressive stance finally relaxed."Elders, why have you come here?"The elders completely ignored him, staring with joy at the light emanating from my chest."Child of the Moon... the Moon Goddess has finally blessed our pack..."Shock spread across Damon's face. Legend said that the Moon Goddess would send a Child of the Moon to packs she favored. The Child of the Moon was destined to lead the pack to glory. But he quickly recovered and sneered. "What Child of the Moon? There's only a poisonous woman here who's been driven mad by jealousy!"Elder Magnus struck Damon's chest with his claws. "Fool! You can't even recognize the Child of the Moon, yet you dare call yourself Alpha?"I struggled to stand up from the floor. The light from my chest had healed most of my wounds, though pain never disappears so easily."I'm not the Child of the Moon. My son was, but he's already been killed by the man standing before you!"Damon whipped around to glare

The silence in the room was deafening. Damon stared at the burial receipt in his hands, his pupils contracting to pinpricks as the words sank in."Baby Blackwood... burial plot... paid in full..."His hands began to shake. For just a moment, I saw something crack in his expression—a flicker of fear, of dawning realization. Then Serena snatched the paper from his hands."Oh my goodness, Damon! Look at this!" She waved the receipt dramatically. "It says it's for 'Baby Blackwood'! Why would anyone buy a grave for a perfectly healthy child?"Her voice was pure poison disguised as concern. "Unless... unless this is some kind of sick psychological game she's playing to get your attention?"Damon's face went through a series of emotions—confusion, denial, and finally settling on rage. He grabbed the receipt and slammed it against my face so hard the paper cut my cheek."Aria! What kind of pathetic, twisted trick is this supposed to be?""You think I'm stupid? You think I'll fall for some fake
