27| Kai and Nyla.

Kieran and I run into the woods and shift to our wolves at the same time. I glance at him. Kai has beautiful brown fur and is so much bigger than Nyla. Nyla used to be even smaller than this when we were at Alpha Jaxon’s pack. But she has now added a little bit of weight, as we now eat better, unlike before when we used to survive off scraps.

Without hesitation, Kai comes close to Nyla, smothering his body against hers as they both howl happily. I want to tell Nyla to move away from him, but I stop myself. Kai is not the one who offended us—it is Kieran. So, I’ll just allow them to have their moment together.

They begin running together, playing with each other as they go.

“This is the best day of my life!” Nyla screams in my head.

I chuckle at her. I am just glad that she is happy. They continue running far and wide, circling trees as they go, Nyla’s excitement warming my heart.
