ELARAToday is the D-day. The day I will be crowned as the Luna of the Mountain Shadow Pack. The day I will be married to the love of my life. I cannot wait to be his. Forever.Isla and Vivianne are helping me get ready for the coronation. Isla has just finished doing my makeup, while Vivianne is doing my hair. I feel really pampered right now. I am truly blessed to have Isla by my side. I’m not sure about Vivianne, though. I don’t know why I’m still finding it hard to trust her, even though she has shown that she has repented.I am staring at my reflection in the mirror. I look really beautiful. I know that. The beige dress compliments my skin tone. It is a floor-length gown made of flowing chiffon, featuring delicate gold embroidery along the neckline and sleeves. It is simple, yet regal. I cannot wait for Kieran to see me.A knock suddenly sounds on the door.“Who is there?” Isla calls out.Kieran clears his throat. “It’s me. I am coming in now,” he says, and the next thing, the d
KIERANI want to be done with the stupid bet so fast. I don’t even take it easy on Vivianne as I am running at high speed.“Alpha, take pity on me. Remember, you are not competing with an Alpha, but a Beta,” Vivianne mind-links me.“You are the one who wants to race with an Alpha,” I reply as I continue moving fast.“This is really stupid. You forced me to do this. What do you think our Luna would think if she finds out that we are running with Vivianne?” Kai grumbles in my head.I know, right? I know I am making a terrible mistake right now. I should have just declined. The plan is to run to the west border and back to our starting point. As we continue moving, I suddenly catch the faint scent of a rogue. What the fuck? The borders are heavily guarded.Without hesitation, I change back to my human form. I have to catch whoever that is; they shouldn’t have gotten far.Vivianne changes back to her human form, her eyes widening as she looks at me.“Alpha, what happened?” she quickly ask
ELARA“Oh my... this is absolutely beautiful!” Isla beams as she holds my hand for the umpteenth time, admiring the ring.We are having lunch in the kitchen with the twins. She wouldn’t stop reeling since I showed her the ring.“And it’s diamond. Girl, that Alpha is in love,” she beams.“Isla, I have heard that from you at least a hundred times today.” I chuckle.“Oh, you have?” She laughs, before turning to continue eating. “I am just so happy for you. I mean, look at us. Our lives have totally turned around. I thought we didn’t have any hope when we were at Nightingale.”“Oh, don’t make me emotional right here,” I tell her as I try to force back tears. Indeed, our lives have completely turned around. If Kieran hadn’t come to our rescue, we’d probably still be slaving away at Jaxon’s pack. That’s if I haven’t been killed already.A tear drops from her eye, and she quickly wipes it with the back of her hand.Holding her hand, I mutter, “We have been through a lot together, and that is
KIERANAfter Elara leaves, I glare at Reid. “What is so important that made you interrupt us?”“We found someone around the pack borders. A rogue,” he tells me.“Where is he? Did you capture him? What was he doing there?” I quickly ask him.“He was just pacing around. He didn’t have any weapon on him.”“Did you capture him?” I ask, and he nods.“Where is he? In the dungeon?” I ask as I begin moving towards the dungeon.“Yes. But he doesn’t seem to be a threat.”“Have you interrogated him?” I ask.“Yes. He said he was only looking for a pack that’ll accept him. He didn’t know how the Alpha would take it and was scared of approaching the patrols.”Some Alphas get offended whenever a rogue approaches them for asylum. They believe they are filth that was discarded by another pack and, as such, can’t contaminate their pack with them. Some even go as far as killing the rogues for daring to ask them for asylum. Thinking about that reminds me of the time I banished Elara from the pack, and a
ELARA"Please marry me," he repeats, his eyes fixed on me.My heart is hammering against my chest, tears flowing down my eyes as I stare at Kieran. He didn't have to do this, but he went out of his way to make me feel this special. That shows his unending love for me. I love him. I love him so much and—"There's no one else I'll rather do life with," I mutter, allowing the tears to flow down my cheeks."Yes, Kieran. Yes!" I beam, holding my hand out.A wide smile spreads across his lips as he takes my hand and slides the ring onto my finger."I promise to never let you down," he says as he stands on his feet and wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him.Without hesitation, he presses his lips to mine and kisses me slowly, passionately. I stop thinking about every other thing as I am consumed in the moment. Then he pulls away and looks into my eyes. "I love you.""I love you too," I sob. This is the happiest I have ever been. He makes me feel loved, special, and treasure
ELARAThe car parks in front of one of the five-star restaurants downtown. It is one of the establishments owned by the pack. It generates a great amount of revenue for the pack annually. I know that because Kieran used to tell me about all these things before he banished me.After getting down from the car, he wraps his arm around my waist, leading me into the restaurant. The securities, waiters, all bow their heads in respect as we walk inside. They are all part of the Mountain Shadow pack.Looking around, I notice that aside from the staff, we are the only other persons inside the restaurant.“Kieran, where is everyone?” I ask him.“The restaurant is closed for the public for tonight,” he tells me as he leads me to one of the round tables and pulls out the seat for me.I calmly sit down and he walks to the other side, settling on it.“Why?” I ask him.“For security reasons. I can’t have strangers around, knowing that there is someone out there after your life. For all I know, it c
