“What the hell is he doing here?” My jaw clenches as I ask Reid.

He shrugs. “We wouldn’t know until you go meet him.”

Sighing heavily, I turn my attention to Elara and give her a quick kiss on her forehead. “Go ahead with the kids. I’ll meet you in our bedroom.”

“No.” She objects without hesitation. “I want to go with you. I want to know what he’s here to talk about.”

“Elara, no. I am not taking you with me. I’ll handle it,” I tell her.

“The reason you went to his pack in the first place is because of me. I asked to go then, but you refused.”

“Because I was protecting you. I didn’t want to put you in harm’s way.”

“Well, now he came to meet us in the pack. He cannot harm me here. Please let me go with you.”

I sigh exasperatedly. “The person you wanted to see was Marcel, not his father. I believe his father is here regarding the business I proposed to him.”
