Chloes’s pov.

I watched as Mendy shared an intimate hug with Liam, and my heart couldn't help but ache with hurt. It felt like a dagger piercing through my chest.

Then, Scott passed right by me, heading towards Liam, as if we had never met before. It was a painful blow, considering how I thought he treated me like a brother. What had happened to our bond? Why was he suddenly acting like a stranger?

"Welcome back," Scott greeted Liam when he finally reached him, causing Liam to break the hug with Mendy. Liam replied with a simple "Thanks," and Scott nodded in response.

"Scott," I called out under my breath, and he turned back to me with an annoying look on his face. Mendy also shot me a glare, as if I was some insignificant creature. It felt like a betrayal. We used to be like a family, but now they were acting distant and cold. If it had something to do with Liam, at least there was nothing between him and me anymore.
