Chapter 8

CHLOE’S POV

I was so terrified that I had no idea when I pissed on my body. The man's voice sounded like a raging war. My heart kept skipping at the sound of his footsteps. I never imagined that a day like this would come where I had to own it up to my chest and say that I'd be my own personal savior.

Suddenly, he walked up to me while holding the long gi=un by his side as he grabbed my hair from behind and moved it backward.

“Who do you think you are?” He questioned me with no iota of pity in his voice.

The question lingered in the air, a challenge to confront the truth of my own identity. In that moment, my reality told me that I had no choice but to face the darkness within myself.

I summoned the courage that lay dormant within, pushing through the fear that threatened to consume me. This was the moment to confront the shadows and to own up to the choices that led me to this harrowing juncture. I straightened my back, feeling the cold metal of the gun against my skin.
