LOGINValerie’s POV
A few minutes passed. Alpha Xavier didn’t respond. He simply stared at me, his expression blank and unreadable. Then a soft chuckle escaped his lips as he shook his head in disapproval.
“I can’t,” he said quietly. “You know what Alpha Sebastian is capable of if he finds out you eloped. I don’t want this to start a war at least not because of a woman.”
My lips trembled as I bit down hard, fighting the tears burning my eyes. My vision blurred anyway as the tears gathered.
“Please,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “I don’t want to die here. Please help me. I promise I won’t be a burden to you.”
All I could do was hope, pray that he would save me from this hell. He fell silent, deep in thought. For a moment, confusion flickered in his eyes. I could tell he was torn considering it.
“I’ll help you,” he finally said. “But you must keep your promise.”
Relief crashed over me like a wave. A weak smile touched my lips as the tears I’d fought so hard to hold back spilled freely. Alpha Xavier stepped closer and gently wiped them away.
“You don’t need to cry, Valerie.” He paused, then grabbed my hand firmly.
“Come. We need to leave now.”I jumped out of the bed, but dizziness hit me instantly. My knees nearly gave out, and I had to grip the bed for support. After catching my breath, I followed closely behind him.
As we slipped out of the clinic, I realized none of the guards were around. Slowly, cautiously, we moved down the hallway, our gazes shifting left and right. Alpha Xavier held my hand tightly, and for the first time in a long while, I felt safe.
We finally reached his chambers. He glanced around one last time to make sure no one was watching before shutting the door. I watched him scan the room, but before he could speak, a knock echoed through the air, My hands began to tremble.
Alpha Xavier pointed to a wooden box, signaling me to hide. Without hesitation, I climbed inside, carefully closing the lid. My heart pounded as darkness swallowed me.
Then I heard his voice, Cold. Familiar, Alpha Sebastian.
“Who were you talking to?” he asked, scanning the room,Alpha Xavier said nothing.
“As much as we’re in your pack mansion,” Alpha Xavier replied calmly, “you should learn to knock before entering. It would save you from unnecessary embarrassment, Sebastian.”The tension between them was suffocating. I pressed my hand over my mouth, terrified he would hear my breathing. I prayed silently that he wouldn’t find me.
I didn’t know how long I stayed in that box, but suddenly, I heard the door slam shut.
I let out a shaky breath of relief and reached to open the lid only to hear footsteps. Two guards entered the room. Panic surged through me as the lid was shut again.
Cold sweat covered my skin. The box was tight and uncomfortable. My legs were numb, my body aching. But if this pain was the price of freedom, I was willing to pay it.
“Be careful,” Alpha Xavier muttered. “I don’t want to ruin the gift I brought for my mother.”The guards lifted the box, struggling under its weight. I could hear their heavy breathing as they carried me away.
Suddenly, the box was dropped.
A sharp pain shot through my back, stealing my breath. I wanted to scream—but I didn’t. I bit my lip hard, tasting blood. Freedom demanded silence. Freedom demanded pain.
Just as the box was about to be loaded into a carriage, someone called out to Alpha Xavier,My heart stopped.
“My lord,” a guard said, “I’ve been ordered to search every item leaving this pack.”
Tears streamed down my face. I knew this was the end.
“Are you accusing me of theft?” Alpha Xavier growled. “Or suggesting I would steal from my own pack?”
The guard froze, then quickly bowed. “Forgive me, Alpha.”
He apologized and walked away.
I stayed still in the darkness, my body shaking, but for the first time, hope flickered inside me.
Soon after, I felt the wooden box being lifted into the carriage. The horses neighed, and the wheels creaked as we began to move. Only then did I release the breath I had been holding.
I didn’t know how long I stayed inside that dark box, minutes, hours, maybe even days. Time had lost all meaning. Suddenly, the carriage came to a halt. The lid of the box opened, and I felt a hand gently stroke my cheek.
I jolted awake as pain shot through my back.“You’re safe now.”
His words shattered me. Tears filled my eyes as I slowly climbed out of the box. Every joint in my body screamed in pain, my legs weak and trembling, but I forced myself to ignore it. As I stepped out of the carriage and lifted my gaze to the open sky, my strength failed me.
My knees gave out,I stared at the sun, its warmth washing over my face, and I broke down completely. This was the freedom I had dreamed of. The freedom I had prayed for. At last, it was mine freedom from chains, from pain, from slavery.
Tears streamed endlessly down my face as I bent down, picked up a handful of sand, and closed my eyes. I inhaled deeply, as if trying to breathe freedom into my soul.
“Freedom… at last,” I whispered, my voice weak but full of truth.
I had escaped the grip of Alpha Sebastian, Helen, and even my own parents. Now, I would begin again with a clean slate. I would write my own fate, and one day, I would take my revenge on those who broke me.
Alpha Sebastian’s POVXavier was far too confident, and it showed in the way his men charged recklessly toward mine, their battle cries tearing through the air as steel clashed against steel and wolves howled in fury. The battlefield became chaos within seconds, dust rising, bodies colliding, the metallic scent of blood thick enough to choke on. I stood at the center of it all, my grip tightening around my sword as I locked eyes with him, knowing this was no longer just a war for territory it was personal. He had insulted my Luna, my crown, and my pack, and for that, there would be no mercy; I moved first, our blades colliding with a force that sent vibrations through my arms, neither of us willing to yield as sparks flew and the ground beneath us trembled from the sheer intensity of the fight. We circled each other like predators, each strike faster, heavier, more desperate than the last, and with every movement, I could feel the rage inside me growing, fueling me, sharpening my ins
Alpha Xavier POVI knew something wasn’t right. Sebastian’s silence wasn’t something to ignore,it was dangerous. He wasn’t the type to sit back and do nothing, and that alone told me war was already at my doorstep. I was still deep in thought when the doors burst open, slamming hard against the walls as one of my betas rushed in, breathless and pale.“Alpha Xavier… they—” he gasped, clutching his chest, struggling to speak. “They are here.”For a split second, the room fell silent, then everything exploded.“Get everyone ready!” I roared, my voice echoing through the hall. “No one stays behind. We go to war today! We will bring chaos upon them, we will tear through their defenses and take what is ours!”The warriors let out loud, thunderous growls in response, the sound vibrating through the walls like a storm about to break. Weapons were grabbed, armor secured, and the once quiet pack ground turned into a frenzy of movement. Still, I noticed hesitation. A few of them stepped back, ex
Helen POVI knew everything was over the moment Valeria ordered that I be thrown into the dungeon. At first, I thought I could still manipulate her by using the bond we once claimed as sisters to soften her heart, to make her release me and my parents. But I had spoken too much, pushed too far, and now there was no turning back. Deep down, I knew I wasn’t getting out of this alive. Still, I refused to accept it so easily. I convinced my parents to try one last time, to make her listen, to bargain with whatever we had left. When she finally came to see us, I tried to use the only leverage I had left. I told her we knew about her real family, hoping it would shake her, hoping it would buy us freedom. But nothing went as planned. The nights that followed were nothing but torment. I watched my mother groan endlessly in pain, her body growing weaker with each passing hour. I watched my father break apart, blaming himself over and over again for everything that had happened, for trusting m
Valerie POV“It was him,” I said under my breath, my eyes widening in shock and disbelief. For a moment, I actually thought my mind was playing tricks on me. If anyone had told me that the same man I met years ago in Crestwood Pack would one day be standing right in front of me like this, I would have laughed it off without hesitation. And yet here he was.“My lady,” he said respectfully, bowing his head in courtesy. That familiar voice only made the confusion inside me grow deeper. I didn’t waste another second before rushing toward him.“How did you get here? How did you even know I was here? Have you been following me all this time?” I asked quickly, my tone sharper than intended. A soft smile appeared on his lips, calm and almost too composed for the situation. He slowly shook his head and straightened his posture.“Not at all, my lady,” he replied evenly. “I’m not here because I followed you. I was informed. I received a message from Elder Howard some time ago. Strangely enough,
Valeria POVSlowly, the courtroom began to empty. One by one, the elders and guards took their leave, their footsteps fading into silence until it was just me and the aftermath of everything I had done. I stood there, unmoving, in the middle of the lifeless bodies of the people I had once called family, those I had trusted, those who had broken me in ways I could never fully explain. All for power, for greed, for control. Now they lay still, their ambitions buried with them, All except Helen. She was still alive, barely. Her body trembled weakly against the cold floor, chains binding her wrists and ankles, her strength completely drained. The guards moved to drag her away, but I raised my hand, stopping them instantly. They exchanged confused glances, but I didn’t bother explaining.“Leave her,” I said calmly. “I’m not done yet.”They stepped back. One of them handed me the chain, and I yanked it harshly, dragging her closer to me. A weak cry escaped her lips as she struggled to stay
Valeria POVI rushed out of the chamber, only to find a guard standing at the entrance. For a moment, my heart skipped, but he quickly bowed and reminded me about the council of elders’ meeting. That was when it struck me, I was no longer just Valeria. I was now the acting ruler of the pack while my mate was away at war. Pushing every lingering thought aside, I quickly changed into a simple dress, nothing too extravagant, and made my way to the courtroom. The moment I stepped in, the atmosphere shifted. My father, his wife, and Helen were already kneeling at the center, guarded and waiting. I didn’t spare them a single glance as I walked past, my steps steady, my expression unreadable, until I reached the throne. Only after I sat down did I lift my gaze and even then, it was brief. I could feel Helen’s eyes on me, burning with something fierce, but I ignored it.Silence filled the courtroom as everyone waited for me to speak. This was the moment their judgment. A faint smile lingered
Valerie POVI lay quietly on my bed, staring into space, my mind replaying everything that had happened to me. Every betrayal. Every lie. Every pain I had endured. My heart burned as I thought about revenge, how perfectly I would carry it out. I wanted them to feel exactly what I had felt. Slowly.
Alpha Sebastian’s POVEver since Valeria returned to the mansion, I had done my best to make sure everything she needed was provided for. Whatever she asked for, no matter how small or how big, I made sure it was granted. Tonight, at the ball, I wanted to show her just how much I cared about her an
Valerie POVThe days passed by quickly, yet I couldn’t brush away the thoughts of what Helen had said earlier. Her words kept replaying in my mind over and over again. I knew exactly what she was capable of, and I also knew that her threats were not something to be taken lightly. Still, now that I
