A Mother's Promise

*Yolanda's POV*

I took a long sip of my tea and stared into the distance,the workers were working as usual,the birds were chirping,the air smelled like flowers and tea. Every single thing seemed to be in place but myself.

I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread in my heart,pulling me down and trying to make the perfectly pleasant tea in my mouth taste like mud.

I set the still-full tea cup on the tray and took out the one thing I was sure I wouldn't need again.
