Kelsey’s POV

“This is Natalie,” I announced to the circle of pack wives gathered in my living room. “My personal maid.”

The words felt delicious on my tongue. My personal maid. Like I was finally somebody important.

Martha nearly choked on her coffee. “Personal maid? Since when do you have staff?”

“Since I realized how much I needed the help.” I beamed at Natalie, who stood quietly beside the refreshment table. “She handles everything.”

The other women stared at Natalie with obvious envy. Good. Let them be jealous for once.

“Only the most important pack members have personal staff,” Martha said slowly, and I could hear the grudging respect in her voice.

My chest swelled with pride. Finally. Finally I belonged here instead of being tolerated as Dominic’s burden.

“She’s wonderful with Alexander,” I continued, gesturing for Natalie to bring the tea service. “So gentle and patient. And her references are impeccable.”

“Where did you find her?” asked Sandra, leaning forward with interest.

Penelope’s POVThe sirens woke me at four in the morning, their screaming cutting through my dreams. Before my feet hit the floor, my phone started ringing—multiple calls flooding in at once.“Eastern border,” Dad’s voice cracked through the speaker. “Three of them got through the fence. Big ones.”I threw on clothes and grabbed my gun, racing toward the border in my truck. The radio chatter painted a nightmare—three mutated wolves, bigger than anything we’d seen before, tearing through our people like they were made of paper. My fighters were scattered when I arrived. Some wounded, others trying to hide behind whatever they could find. The biggest mutant had cornered two of my people against a shipping container, its twisted spine and elongated limbs making it look like something from hell. That’s when Dominic showed up.His truck skidded to a stop and he leaped out, already shifting into his wolf form while he was still in the air. He crashed into the nearest mutant with bone-crushin

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 350: Watching Through Glass

Nick’s POVI stood at the kitchen window, watching Dominic carry Alexander around the backyard. My son—my biological son—squealed with delight as his supposed father pointed out birds in the trees.“Ba-ba-ba!” Alexander chanted, reaching toward a squirrel that scampered up the oak tree.Dominic laughed, bouncing him gently. “That’s right, buddy. Squirrel. Can you say squirrel?”“Ga-ga-ga!”“Close enough.”My hands clenched into fists. Three days of this. Three days of watching another man play father to my child while I was relegated to observer status.“Sir?” One of the junior pack members appeared in the doorway. “About the adjustments you recommended yesterday—”“What about them?” I didn’t turn from the window.“Alpha Dominic wants to review them with the border captain before implementing. He said he needs to verify the reasoning behind the changes.”“Verify the reasoning?”“His words, sir. He’s scheduled a meeting for this afternoon to go over your suggestions.”Suggestions. Not o

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 349: Desperation

Julian’s POVI saw the change in Penelope immediately after the Council meeting. She tried to hide it, but I’d been watching her too closely for too long to miss the signs. The way she unconsciously straightened when someone mentioned Dominic’s name. How her attention drifted during our intelligence briefings. The distant look in her eyes that meant she was thinking about someone who wasn’t in the room.“The Rogue movement patterns are interesting,” I said, spreading photos across her desk. “They’re definitely testing our responses, but there’s something else.”“Mmm.” She picked up one of the photos, but her focus seemed scattered. “What kind of something else?”“They’re moving in smaller groups than usual.” I pointed to specific positions marked on the images. “This isn’t random harassment anymore.”“Dominic mentioned that in his briefing.” The name slipped out naturally, like she’d been thinking about him already. “His analysis was quite thorough.”Quite thorough. She never described

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 348: Rising Tensions

Penelope’s POVThe emergency Council meeting felt tense before Elder Francis even called us to order. Scouts had been reporting activity along our borders for three days—groups of Rogues that seemed more interested in watching us than actually fighting.“They’re testing us,” Alpha Williams said, spreading maps across the table. “Looking for weak spots.”“Or they want us to think they’re testing while they plan something bigger,” Alpha Davis shot back.I leaned forward, looking at the marked spots. “What about the eastern settlements? Anything strange there?”“Nothing we’ve heard about, but that doesn’t mean much,” Williams replied. “If they’re being smart—”The doors opened, cutting him off. Dominic walked in, and the whole room seemed to change. Gone was the distracted, broken man I’d gotten used to seeing. Now, he moved like he had a purpose, his shoulders straight and his dark eyes sharp as they swept the room.“Sorry I’m late,” he said, taking his seat. “I was setting up extra patr

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 347: Powerless

Kelsey’s POVI stood in the hallway outside Alexander’s nursery, my bare feet silent on the hardwood floor. Through the cracked door, I could hear Natalie’s soft voice singing a lullaby I didn’t recognize.“There we go, little prince,” she murmured. “All clean and dry.”Alexander’s delighted babbling floated out—happy sounds, the kind he used to make for me. I pressed closer to the doorframe and peered inside.Natalie had him on the changing table, efficiently fastening a fresh diaper while he kicked his chubby legs and grabbed at her hair. When she finished, she lifted him up, and his whole face lit up with a gummy smile.“Ba-ba-ba!” he chanted, reaching for her face with both hands.“Yes, baby talk,” Natalie laughed, nuzzling his cheek. “You’re getting so big. Soon you’ll be walking all over this house.”Alexander squealed and clapped his hands together—a new skill he’d mastered just last week. Except I hadn’t been there to see it. Natalie had told me about it afterward, like she was

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 346: Consequences

Kelsey’s POVI lay against Nick’s chest, my skin still warm from what we’d just shared, listening to his heartbeat slow back to normal. His fingers moved through my hair, gentle and absent-minded. “You need to approach this differently with Dominic.”“Approach what differently?” I traced circles on his bare chest, not wanting to think about him right now.“His new interest in controlling Alexander’s routine.” Nick’s voice stayed soft, but I felt his attention sharpen. “Fighting him directly will only make him more possessive.”“I’m not fighting him. I’m just trying to be a good mother.”“I know you are.” His hand cupped my cheek, thumb brushing across my skin. “But being a good mother and being smart about your position here are different things.”My stomach clenched. My position. Not as his partner, not as someone with rights, but as someone whose place in this house depended entirely on Dominic’s tolerance.“What do you mean?”Nick shifted so he could look at me properly. “Dominic’s
