Georgia’s POV

I barely had the energy to lift my head from the couch when I heard the front door creak open. The twins were finally napping. Then I heard her unmistakable voice, humming some tune outside. That was Leah’s voice. Then I heard my name.

“Georgia!” she called. I smiled, already sensing the whirlwind of excitement she carried with her. “In here,” I answered, pulling the throw blanket tighter around my legs as I tried to sit up straighter.

She walked in, her hair still a bit tousled, cheeks flushed with that telltale glow. The moment our eyes met, she gave me a grin so wide it could have split her face in two, then she flopped beside me on the couch like she was boneless.

“God,” she sighed dramatically, “I need to tell you everything, Georgia.”

I smiled softly.

She started immediately, not wasting a single second. “Georgia, I swear to you, it was magical. I’ve never felt anything like it,” she gushed, her eyes sparkling as she fanned herself with her hand like she was still

Georgia’s POVThe next day, Leah came rushing into the sitting room, her eyes filled with that kind of excitement that’s hard to contain. “He’s coming today!” she declared. “Karl’s finally coming.”I couldn’t help but smile at her joy, even if my chest tightened just a little from the nervousness of seeing Karl. But I pushed it aside, determined to enjoy this happy moment with her.“That’s good news,” I said, setting down my morning cup of tea. “Let’s make it special.”Ruth, who had been bouncing little Nathaniel on her hip while Natalie played with her wooden blocks on the carpet, nodded at us. “I’ll keep the twins busy,” she offered with a soft smile. “You two can handle the kitchen. Make something nice.”Leah’s eyes shone brighter. “Come on,” she urged, grabbing my hand with a playful tug.We moved to the kitchen. “You know,” she said, glancing at me as she kneaded dough with her hands, “Karl loves sweet bread. He always tells me how much he misses it..”“Then we’ll make the best

Karl’s POV After the call with Leah,I stood by the window of the hotel room, the thin curtains doing a poor job of keeping the sunlight at bay. My reflection in the glass mirror stared back at me with hollow eyes. I saw the man I’d become.“She will remember,” I said under my breath, barely a whisper. My throat felt like sandpaper. “Goddamn it, she will remember.”My hands tightened into fists at my sides, nails digging into my palms like I needed the pain to anchor me. Georgia’s face haunted me with an intensity that no drink, no distance, no lie could ever wash away. I saw it in flashes, like lightning in the dark. And worse, far worse I knew she remembered him too Kael so showing up wasn’t really a good idea to avoid chaos. No matter how many times I tried to bury the thought, it clawed its way back to the surface. I knew Kael had entrusted Georgia’s safety to me but I still hadn’t gotten the courage. She remembers everything we made her forget. No amount of sedatives, no fal

Georgia’s POV“Okay,” I said, pulling my apron. She gave me a weak smile, barely a curve of her lips. I frowned, leaning in a little. “What happened?”Leah let out this small breath, like she’d been holding it in all day. She shook her head, but then her eyes softened and she confessed, “Karl. I’m still feeling sad about everything.” She trailed off and sat on the couch and iFollowed behind, her gaze falling to the table. “I really wanted him to meet you and the twins.” There was a pause between us. I felt it, like this quiet ache in my chest, not for me, but for her. She didn’t deserve that. Not the disappointment, not the excuses, not the hollow feeling she was clearly carrying.“Leah,” I said gently, but she just shrugged like she didn’t want to talk about it anymore.“You deserve better.” I said.“Don’t,” she whispered. “If you tell me I deserve better, I might actually cry.”That hurt. It actually hurt to hear her say that, because she did deserve better, and she knew it but r

Karl’s POVThe night had been electric even before we made it to the hotel. My pulse still hadn’t settled, and I could feel the raw edge of adrenaline under my skin. The strippers were draped around me, their words slurred and sultry in the quiet of the night. Every brush of their hands against my arms, every sway of their hips when they stepped closer, sent a rush straight through me. I couldn’t help but smirk. For once, I wasn’t watching life from the sidelines. I was in it, neck-deep, and loving every damn second. As we pushed through the glass doors of the hotel, the warmth inside welcomed us. The lobby was dimly lit, with soft jazz humming through hidden speakers. Plush armchairs and polished floors gave it an air of understated luxury, but all my attention was on the strippers. We approached the reception desk, and I caught the receptionist, a young guy, maybe a year or two younger than me do a double take. His eyes flicked from me to the women at my side, and I saw it clear.

Georgia’s POVMorning light filtered through the curtains, I woke up early. I hadn’t set my eyes on Leah. I wondered if she was out and how come I didn’t know about it. I waited a little longer, hoping I’d hear her footsteps, but nothing came. A faint worry started to bloom inside of me. I pushed it down, told myself not to overthink, but still, my feet carried me toward her room.I knocked lightly at first. No answer.“Leah?” I called softly, my knuckles tapping the door again.Still no response. My heart thudded unevenly as I slowly pushed the door open, there she was, curled up on the edge of her bed, her knees hugged tight to her chest, tears streaking her cheeks. She tried to turn her face away the moment she noticed me, but it was too late. I’d already seen her tearing up.“Leah,” I said, stepping fully inside, my voice filled with concern, “hey, what’s wrong?”She sniffled and shook her head quickly, wiping her cheeks with the back of her hand. “It’s fine,” she whispered, her

Georgia’s POVIt had been a string of exhausting days. I could barely remember how many times I had refreshed the application page. Leah sat beside me, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her shirt.“My application went through,” she whispered, half-afraid the screen would change if she spoke too loud.I managed a small smile for her. “That’s great,” I said.“Mine had been rejected again.” I added.I kept trying hour after hour, submitting, refreshing, re-entering details as if maybe, just maybe, it would change its mind. But no. Same response. Visa Application denied.Leah was silent for a while, watching me with furrowed brows. Then, as the clock ticked past eleven at night, she perked up as if an idea had sparked.“Wait,” she said, eyes brightening. “What if you try at midnight? I have heard of midnights magic.”I blinked at her, tired. “Midnight?”“Yeah. I read somewhere that sometimes the system refreshes at odd hours. Midnight sounds like… I don’t know, magic time?”I almo

Georgia’s POVLater that evening, we made our way to a nearby restaurant. Inside, we found a quiet table near the back, away from the few other customers. A waitress with a faint scar on her brow brought us grilled venison, warm bread, and soup so rich in respect to our order. We ate, occasionally exchanging looks. I knew Leah had been worried lately, especially after our visit stirred Karl’s discontent. As we finished our meal, wiping our mouths with the thin cloth napkins, I caught a voice, low, urgent, and slightly distressed, coming from just around the corner near the bar. A man in a suit whom I assumed to be a manager or someone else, had a tired look in his eyes. He was on the phone.“Please… I just need more time.” He said but the other voice from the phone replied.“The Lycan god expects them by the full moon,” the caller said, voice sounding worried. “Two female attendants. They must be loyal, quiet, and respectful. Their duty is to care for him. No mistakes this time, I s

Georgia’sPOVThe wind was picking up now, brushing cold into our fingers against our faces as Leah and I turned from the street and began to return back to the portable hotel we were staying in.Leah didn’t speak for a while. Her arms were folded tightly, and I could see the thoughts swirling in her mind just from the furrow in her brow. I knew her well enough to recognize when she was chewing on something she didn’t quite know how to say.“I don’t want to get my hopes up,” she said at last, breaking the silence. Her voice was low, almost cautious. “We’ve had enough disappointments lately.”I glanced at her. “I know. But what if this isn’t just another dead end? What if this is the start of something better? There’s no harm in trying.”She let out a small breath, something between a sigh. “You always find a reason to hope, don’t you?”“Someone has to,” I murmured. We reached as we stepped in and closed the door behind us, locking it out. Leah kicked off her shoes and dropped onto the

Kael’s POVThe thought of Georgia’s name made a shiver run down my spine as I didn’t know how to react to this news. So I hurried out, following Leah behind. By the time I got to Georgia, she was on the ground, limp again, eyes barely open. Leah hovered beside her, trying to rouse her, panic clear in every motion. I dropped to my knees, scooping Georgia into my arms as Karl moved in to help.“Call the pack doctor. Now,” I snapped.“She’s already on her way,” Leah answered, voice shaking.I carried Georgia to my chambers. It was closer than the infirmary, and I wanted her somewhere safe, familiar. Somewhere I could watch over her without interference. The healer, Dr. Emryn arrived within minutes. A middle-aged woman with calm hands and a no-nonsense tone, she moved quickly, checking Georgia’s vitals as Karl hovered at my shoulder. I stood there useless, fists clenched at my sides, eyes locked on Georgia’s pale face.“Heart rate is weak,” Emryn muttered. “Breathing shallow, but present.

Kael’s POVShe wasn’t still moving. Not any sign.I shifted beside her, the early morning sunlight filtering through the drapes and catching on the curve of Georgia’s face. “Georgia?” I called desperately, brushing hair from her forehead. No response. I leaned in closer, pressing a hand gently to her cheek. I shook her lightly. Then harder. No movement. No flutter of lashes. No groggy mumble. Panic rose in my chest as I leaned down, placing my ear against her chest again. Nothing. My instincts kicked in before my thoughts could. I tilted her head, pinched her nose, and pressed my mouth to hers, trying to breathe life into her lungs. I did it once, twice and then the third time.Suddenly, her hands gripped my arms, and before I could react, her mouth was pushing back against mine as she claimed my lips in a kiss. I pulled back sharply, blinking in confusion. Georgia’s eyes were open now, glittering with mischief, and laughter exploded from her lips.“You should’ve seen your face!

Lucy’s POV I could hear the door slam before I even turned to the corner. Damien approached.“Damien? Calm down.” My voice was small, pathetic even to my own ears.“Get in here, Lucy.” The way he said my name, like it tasted bitter in his mouth cut deeper.I stepped into the room and immediately felt the shift in air. It was colder here, always. The thick curtains were drawn, casting the place in shadow. I crossed the threshold and stood near the door, hands clasped in front of me.He stood by the fireplace, back to me, jaw clenched so tight I could see the tension rippling up his neck. He didn’t look at me when he spoke.“You were supposed to have her here by now, it’s been days and you couldn’t do this little task I have entrusted to you.”“I…I know. I’m sorry.” My voice cracked. “There were delays. She’s harder to find than we thought.”“Don’t.” He turned then, his gaze pinning me in place like a knife through the chest. “Don’t make excuses.”I swallowed hard. “I’m doing everythin

Kael’s POVThe sunlight flashed on my eyelids, uncomfortably waking me from the heaviness of my own body. I groaned, tossing on the bed, fighting with the stubborn light that insisted on slicing through my lashes. My head pounded. A dull, throbbing pain spread through my temples like someone had cracked a bottle open on my skull. I tried to turn away from the light, clinging to the remnants of sleep. But then I felt someone lying beside me. My eyes opened in a slow, reluctant crawl, but what I saw made them fly wide open in an instant. Georgia? She lay there, curled slightly to one side, the sheets barely covering her. Her hair fanned over the pillow, her bare back rising in what should have been a gentle rhythm of breath. She’s naked In my bed, next to me.And that’s when i remembered last night's incident even though I can't remember it all. I had laid with her.I sat up slowly, the sheet sliding off my own waist. My heart thudded, once, then again, louder than before. The memory wa

Georgia’s POV Later that night, I made my way to Kael’s chamber. I hesitated for just a second, bare feet pressing against the cold marble before I raised my hand and pushed the door open without knocking. The room was dim, but the reflection of the moon light made it better. The curtains were half drawn. Kael stood near the window, shirt undone, collar open, dark hair tousled like he had run his hands through it a thousand times. He turned slowly when he heard the door creak, brows lifting in surprise. “Georgia?” His voice was low, a little rough. “You are not sleeping. Are you alright?”I stepped inside, letting the door fall shut behind me. The soft thud echoed in the silence between us. “No, I’m not alright.” I said simply and truthfully.Kael’s gaze darkened with concern. He stepped toward me, and that was when I noticed the half-empty whiskey glass on the table beside his bed. The smell of alcohol hung faintly in the air, and when he came closer, it clung to his breath.“You’ve

Reveena’s POVI stood by the kitchen door frame slightly, arms crossed as I peeked at Georgia secretly while she hum softly to herself as she stirred the contents of the pot. She moved around the kitchen with an almost eagerness, occasionally wiping her hands on the apron Kael had given her earlier in the day. It was ridiculous how proud she looked, as if preparing one meal could suddenly make her suitable to stand beside him.She didn’t even notice me lurking. But I wanted to walk in and teach her a lesson but an idea popped into my head.Georgia flipped the lid open and gave the pot one more stir, her face gleaming with a smile that made my skin itch. I watched her lean over and sniff the soup, nodding approvingly to herself. Not a single spoonful to taste the grab she had made, not even a pinch to check if the seasoning was right. Just a sniff. She really was that stupid.“I think they’ll love it,” she whispered to herself, wiping sweat off her forehead before trotting off toward t

Reveena’s POVI shouldn’t have come. The thought repeated over and over in my mind like a chant as Kael’s amber flared with a fire I hadn’t seen before, not for me, but against me.“You don’t get to decide my fate, Reveena,” he growled, each word seething with disdain. “Over my dead body will Georgia ever be my mate? Is that what you came here to force on me?”I opened my mouth to reply, to remind him of the bloodlines, the council’s expectations.“If you think I’ll let anyone, even you, dictate who I bind my soul to… then I’m sorry to tell you this, Reveena,” he spat my name like it burned his tongue. “But I’ll become your enemy if that’s what it takes.”My breath hitched. I felt my heart crack loudly, painfully as though he’d just ripped it from my chest and crushed it between his clawed fingers. He turned away from me as if I no longer mattered. His hand curled into a fist at his side, shoulders tense, jaw tight. Not because of her he is acting this way towards me.“You would thro

Reveena’s POVI made my way to Kael’s chambers with thunder boiling in my veins. That moment I saw her, draped in simple fabric, eyes lowered like a servant, something inside me twisted. Not jealousy. No. This was something deeper. A storm of disbelief and fury at the very idea that someone like her could be in his presence so comfortably.I didn’t knock as I bagged into Kael’s room. The doors flung open beneath my hands, slamming against the inner walls. Kael was by the window, but he didn’t even flinch. He barely turned his head as I entered, and that only enraged me more.“Unbelievable.” I snapped. His eyes rose to meet mine. calm, cold, and far too steady for someone who’d just been caught entertaining a girl like that. “What?”“You know what I mean,” I hissed, stepping closer. “The girl I saw claiming she’s your mate. The one with her hair tied back like a kitchen maid. What is she doing here?”Kael arched a brow, folding his hands across each other with the kind of infuriating

Georgia’s POV“Leave.” He instructed as he pulled away. I took a step forward but he wasn’t giving me the chance to come closer. “You should leave!” He ordered again.I closed Kael’s door quietly behind me. My fingers lingered on the handle, as if wanting to go back in if I held it long enough. But it didn’t. He had sent me away.I didn’t want to leave, that I could stay and just sit in silence if that’s all he wanted. But Kael was persistent. His words had been gentle but firm. “Not now. Please, just go.”So I did.I walked down the long corridor with a dull ache spreading through my chest, the kind that doesn’t explode, just gnaws quietly beneath your ribs. The pack house was quieter than usual. Even the guards I passed seemed subdued. By the time I reached the new room Leah and I had moved into, I headed towards the bed. The room was bigger than our old one, the ceiling higher, the windows wider. It was nicer.Leah was folding some of Nathalie’s tiny clothes when I walked in. The
