Georgia’s POV

“Okay,” I said, pulling my apron. She gave me a weak smile, barely a curve of her lips. I frowned, leaning in a little. “What happened?”

Leah let out this small breath, like she’d been holding it in all day. She shook her head, but then her eyes softened and she confessed, “Karl. I’m still feeling sad about everything.”

She trailed off and sat on the couch and i

Followed behind, her gaze falling to the table. “I really wanted him to meet you and the twins.”

There was a pause between us. I felt it, like this quiet ache in my chest, not for me, but for her. She didn’t deserve that. Not the disappointment, not the excuses, not the hollow feeling she was clearly carrying.

“Leah,” I said gently, but she just shrugged like she didn’t want to talk about it anymore.

“You deserve better.” I said.

“Don’t,” she whispered. “If you tell me I deserve better, I might actually cry.”

That hurt. It actually hurt to hear her say that, because she did deserve better, and she knew it but r

Kael’s POVI sat on the cold bench in the open field, my head buried in my hands, my thoughts filled with panic and regret. My chest felt tight, like I couldn’t breathe. Every time I closed my eyes, Lyssandra’s voice echoed in my mind.“You’re responsible.”The words replayed like a broken record, over and over, cutting deeper each time. How could I have been so reckless? How did I let it get to this point? “Hey.”The familiar voice made me look up. Karl was approaching, his expression a mix of concern and curiosity. His steady gait and calm demeanor were a sharp towards me.“What’s wrong?” he asked, coming to stand in front of me. His eyes searched mine, and I could tell he wasn’t going to let me brush this off.I hesitated, my throat tightening. “I… I messed up,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.Karl frowned, crossing his arms. “How bad?”“Lyssandra,” I started, swallowing hard, “she’s pregnant. And… she said I’m responsible.”For a moment, Karl didn’t say anything. His

Georgia’s POVI walked out, heading to Leah. Reaching our room, I pushed the door open, my breath catching in my throat as my chest tightened painfully. Tears streamed down my face in hot, relentless rivers. The ache in my chest was unbearable, like my heart had been cracked open with a blunt knife and left to bleed. When I reached the room I shared with Leah, I hesitated for a moment. My fingers trembled on the doorknob as I tried to gather myself, but it was no use. The moment I stepped inside, she looked up from where she was seated on the edge of her bed. Her book fell forgotten to her lap as her eyes widened, taking me in, disheveled, tear-streaked, but otherwise unharmed.“Georgia… you are awake?” She exclaimed happily but just then, she noticed my tears. “You’re…you’re okay?” Her voice was high-pitched with disbelief as she stood, her brows knitting together in confusion.Leah’s shock shifted to concern in a split second. She rushed toward me and wrapped her arms tightly around

Kael’s POVI slammed the car door shut and took a deep breath, the cool evening air doing little to calm the storm brewing inside me. The weight of confronting Raveena pressed heavily on my chest. Raveena had gone too far this time. Trying to harm Georgia was crossing a line I couldn’t ignore.I approached the front of her room door. I pushed it open and the door swung open, and there she was, Raveena, her expression a confusion. “Kael?”“Cut the crap, Raveena,” I snapped, stepping into the foyer without waiting for an invitation. “We need to talk. Now.” She arched her brow but didn’t stop me. Instead, she closed the door and sauntered in, gesturing for me to follow. I didn’t sit; I wasn’t planning to stay long.“You went after Georgia,” I said, my voice sharp. “You tried to hurt her.”Her smirk widened. “Oh, come on. A little spat, that’s all. Don’t act so dramatic. I didn’t do such.”“Dramatic?” My voice rose, echoing in the spacious room. “You tried to push her out of the pack,

Georgia’s POV Karl led me up the staircase, leading to his room. The moment we stepped inside, the door clicked shut behind us, and he motioned for me to sit on the edge of his bed.I hesitated, the air between us heavy with an unspoken tension. My legs felt stiff, but I sank down. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes burned with something I couldn’t quite place.“Karl,” I began, my voice trembling slightly. “What’s going on?”He stood in front of me, his hands clasped behind his pockets. The way he looked at me made my stomach twist. It was as though he was bracing himself for something monumental.“You’ve changed,” he said, his voice low and steady. “You’re not the same as you were days ago.”“What do you mean, I’ve changed?” I asked, my heart pounding.“You’re… immortal now.”What? How’s that possible? For a moment, his words hung in the air, heavy and incomprehensible. I stared at him, my lips parting, trying to form some kind of coherent response, but the shock rendered m

Georgia’s POVI am now outside, gathered among the pack members. The evening came sooner than expected. Earlier, Kael had left the room alongside Raveena. But now, Raveena has gathered the pack members as she declared me a witch. She dragged me by the wrist and pushed me to the ground as I gasped and winced in pain.“Listen up everyone. She has committed treason. She tries to kill me with some witch powers.” Immediately, they all murmured in surprise as I shook my head. “No, no that’s not true.” I declared but no one paid attention.Where was Kael? Did he even know what his sister was doing to me?I had barely seen him hours after he left the room. After the unsettling events of the afternoon in the room, I thought he’d at least check in on me, but his absence left me vulnerable. The sound of gathering voices pulled me from my thoughts. My stomach twisted as I turned toward the source. I could see pack members congregating near me as they spoke with no emotions.“How could you?”“S

Georgia’s POVI am still in Kael’s room. My hands rested on my lap as my heart pounded The truth was, I am confused. Few hours, I had made love with Kael and fell asleep and now, I am acting strangely. What is happening to me? Shortly, the heavy click of the doorknob turning made me and Kael look towards the door.Raveena stepped into the room. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders, framing a face that wore an expression I couldn’t quite read. Surprise was obvious in her eyes when she saw me sitting upright, my skin no longer pale and clammy but healthy and strong.“You…” Her voice wavered for a split second before she caught herself. She smiled, the kind of smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “You look… good.”“Thank you,” I replied cautiously, keeping my tone neutral. My eyes stayed fixed on her as she approached further into the room.“I brought some tea,” she said, setting a tray on the table. Her voice carried a false warmth that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Kael’s POVI was halfway through sipping my morning tea, eyes still heavy from the restless night, when the door to the sitting room flew open with a sharp creak. “My Alpha!” a frantic voice pierced through my thoughts. It was Marella, the young servant girl. She looked as though she’d sprinted through the halls without pause. Her eyes looked anxiously as it met mine.“It’s Miss Georgia,” she gasped.Georgia? “What about her?” I stood up so abruptly the chair scraped across the floor.“She…she’s awake! She’s in your chambers, sitting up… eating!”For a moment, I simply blinked at her. Her words crashed over me, but they didn’t settle. They echoed inside my skull without making sense. Awake? Eating?“She’s awake,” Marella insisted. “I saw her with my own eyes, chewing on the apricots you left last night!”I didn’t wait for anything more. My legs moved before my mind could catch up, rushing past Marella and down the corridor, nearly knocking over a vase on the way. My heart thudded, m

Lyssandra’s POVI knew I shouldn’t be doing this but I had to give it a try.The moment I stepped out of my room, my heart was already racing. But I couldn’t help it, not when every second without him felt like drowning. The hallway was dark, lit only by the glow of the moon through the high windows. I stopped in front of Kael’s room. My hand trembled as I knocked once but they were only silence. Then I opened the door anyway.Kael was standing by the window, shirtless, his back broad and muscular as it caught my attention. His head turned slightly, his eyes catching mine coldly.“What are you doing here?” His voice was low, warning, and sounded dangerous.I stepped inside, shutting the door quietly behind me. “I couldn’t sleep,” I said softly. “I kept thinking about… the last time.”His expression didn’t change. He didn’t move. Not even a breath betrayed him.“Just came to check on you.” I said, approaching closer. “The last time… I couldn’t stop thinking about it.” I added. He look

Karl’s POVI ended the call with Healer Bastian and dropped the phone onto the desk. My pulse throbbed at my temples. What was Raveena playing at? I needed to confront her.I left my room, each stride fueled by a steady undercurrent of rage. I reached Raveena’s quarters within minutes and lifted my hand to knock, then paused for half a breath to calm my nerves before striking the door sharply three times.“Come in,” came her voice from inside, soft and sing-song.I pushed the door open.Raveena was reclining on a velvet chaise, legs crossed delicately, a porcelain teacup in hand. Beside her, Lyssandra perched on the edge of a cushioned stool as they both turned to see me. “Kael.” Raveena called. The moment Lyssandra’s eyes met mine, her smile widened. “Karl,” she said warmly. “Nice to see you.”“Lyssandra,” I said with a curt nod.She stood gracefully and smoothed her skirt. “I’ll give you two some space.” She added, sensing the shift in the air. She glided past me, her perfume brus
