Chapter Four: Unknown Creature

~Tiffany~

“Is anything the matter Tiffie,” Gina asked as she looked at me with concern, I guess I was so lost in my thought that I had not known I was bashing him loudly.

“No, I'm fine, just a little bit upset” I answered but her eyes said otherwise.

“Ok fine you got me, it's AJ” I confessed

“AJ?” She gave me a questioning look

“Yes, it's him, but it's not really much of a big deal. I have settled it” I tried to make her understand.

“Oh! No, you can't say that, anything that has to do with AJ or any vampires or hybrid is a huge thing for us, he is a MONSTER OK and he is OUR ENEMY don't you forget that also tell me exactly what went wrong today” She prattled, of course, she feared that those bastard had done something to me, her bestie.

I explained everything to Gina.

She heaved a relieved sigh.

“That's good, it's a good thing he's avoiding you, and that's what you guys would be doing during biology class till I find a way to get you out of that awkward situation” Gina muttered as she closed her eyes for a while before opening them.

“Let's go in then, I'm famished,” Gina grumbled as she held my hands as we entered The Beanery, it was a place Gina told me she hangs out with her friends.

We sat down in the third row near the window, waiting for someone to take our orders.

“So the norms Gina,” A thin fair cute guy with long lashes asked Gina with a smile, while the latter had a blank face on.

I must say with the way he looked at her it seems both had some quite complicated chemistry.

Should I ship them in?

“Yes, the norms, Xavier, Tiffie, what would you like to take?” She directed the question to me while still looking at him.

“Chili Cheese Dog and coke would be ok” I replied.

“Will be right back in a sec,” The guy smiled glancing at Gina, hmm I smell something fishy.

“Got a thing for Normie?” Apparently, Gina told me the humans were called the normies while the supernatural ones were called the Mystics.

“What? Why are you staring at me like that” Gina flustered.

“I didn't do anything, you are the one feeling guilty here,” I teased. Gina was trying to say something when her face went dark.

She was angry.

“What happened,” I inquired, feeling uncomfortable.

Of course, I was scared, the way she looked at me made me anxious, to top it all Gina dressed like a badass with those dark purple lipstick, a black choker, a black leather jacket, a black crop top, and leather jeans.

Only her hair was the odd one out, so her reaction screams deadly.

“These fucking bastards are here” She gritted her teeth, with her hands fisted.

“Calm down Gina, perhaps, they are not here for us,” I made an effort to reason with her and calm her down, but that wasn't helpful to either of us.

“Fine, since the normies are here, I won't do anything, let me go to the bathroom to calm down, their existence irks me” she scoffed and rose from the chair, then walked away.

The looks I was getting behind my back made me feel uneasy. Yes, I was aware that some people were staring at me, but I could not look back.

Therefore, I'll act as if I had never known.

‘I did nothing wrong so why are they glaring at me?’ my subconscious said. I wanted to confront them about their uncomfortable glare, but all of them just stood up from their chairs and went out in a hurry.

I looked at the exit and saw his flaming red eyes.

Fuck, I jolted up, that shit scared the hell outta me.

~AJ~

My eyes began to get red, and I could smell death and blood—either someone was dead or was dying. We went outdoors to see where that was coming from after I mid-linked my group.

“The woods” Dexter pointed out and we all ran inside the woods, to find out exactly where it was from.

“Stop! ” I ordered and they all did as they were told.

“The police are there already, I need you to hypnotize them for a while Jessica” I informed, she looked at me and nodded her head before leaving. When I was sure the coast was clear, we dragged the body to the woods.

“Four long scratches on the stomach, nothing was brought out, works of a long fang...look at those marks on the neck, what does it look like?” Jackob examined

“It looks like a bite, a bite like that of a vampire,” I replied, immersed in the bite mark, trying to figure out who did it.

“Yes, but that's not a vampire bite, you see those marks on the neck, the teeth are more than ours, so it's definitely not a vampire, and looks like a scale,” he said, bringing out a half foot shiny teardrop shaped scale, which lays staggered but not overlapping.

“What scale is this” I queried

“That I do not know, this is quite different and similar to a dragon's, but we can't call it a dragon scale either since it's not overlapping” he answered with squinted eyes.

“Then who did this,” Dexter asked, sounding like a rhetorical question with curiosity in it.

“Before we can identify the perpetrator, we need to find what kind of species it is” I chirped in.

“Carry the body to the vault; we need to continue our research there; Jessica send those cops back to their station and replace the dead body with another one” I commanded, Jessica did as she was told and I left with the other pack members.

‘Why do strange things keep happening, who the hell is attacking my town?’

‘Is it a lone creature acting rampant or there is more to this and what kind of creature is it?’ A different thought entered my head. I can't bother my dad right now since I am the one in charge. I need to prove to him that he made the right choice handling the pack over to me.

It hasn't even been a month and still, something is already attacking the pack.
