Calla in her bedroom, couldn't help but think about all she heard from Dominic. Jer question lingers but no answer can come forth at the moment.

Devastated, she picked Harper's letter and the one placed on her wall.

“What exactly do you know, Harper? I'm running wild here and a calm word from you will be better to take off this burden.”

She said, staring at the papers.

She was ready to give up all that she owned to get her head straight into the game.

The letter sounds as if Theo didn’t do it with his own intentions. Dominic’s words are saying Theo had left intentionally. He had an option but chose the path of leaving her, maybe to be with his partner; maybe not.

Without so much stress. She chose to call in the maids that pledged their allegiance.

“Guards, please call the maids in my wing.” she said without jittery.

In a calm voice, “it's time to stop feeling sad and throwing tantrums. I need to find myself and fight for the twisted truth I may be living in,” she said to herself.

  • Alpha’s last choice.   Peace treaty.

Calla was back in her room ready to put her things together and leave the next day.The maids were packing a lot. Going in and out of her room just to make sure she lacks nothing. One would think she was going away finally.“Don't you think this is too much?” Calla asked at the sight of the number of bedspreads she saw.“I got information that where the warriors are moving to are just being developed and you might have to sleep in the cold. We can't afford you being sick upon your return.” Theresa answered.“What is that jar?”“Oh! Those are snacks prepared by Cecilia. They can last for a week without having a bad day. I hope you will enjoy it.”“You guys don't want me to return? These are a lot that you've packed here.”“You should be comfortable since we won't be with you. We are just ensuring that.”“I appreciate that. Where is Harper? I haven't seen her since we got back from the meeting.”“I hope she is not crying just as she cried to sleep yesterday. I had to sleep in her room.”

  • Alpha’s last choice.   “Her pack and parents accepted it”.

Calla, not doing too much head to the meeting of the elders with Harper who was mildly dressed as well. This is like a costume to them had they had planned to be on their best behavior and so, they are starting with the dressing. Something the elders would never have imagined would come their way. They entered the hall in silence and Calla took her seat next to Dominic’s chair while Harper chose somewhere far away. The elders couldn't help but whisper to one another, “is everything fine?”Calla smiled because her plan is in motion and it's working.Every of the elders that came in after her including Lord Sam were surprised to have her in the hall waiting. In a few moments, Alpha Dominic entered and his face dampened.Calla noticed the surprised look and that must be because she came in earlier than usual. This was her earliest. She always meets him on the seat. She didn't bother to look at Alpha Dominic directly and avoided any eye contact or body language conversations with him.“Ho

  • Alpha’s last choice.   The content of Alpha Dominic’s letter.

“Alpha Dominic sent a message. He asked for it to be delivered officially as it is your first official duty.”Calla was confused but took the red envelope to check what the content might be. She froze as she reads it.“Why am I being sent to the border?” She asked rhetoricallyThe maid who brought the letter, took a bow and left.“Calla, what's happening?”“Have it.”Harper took it and read through.“Why would Dominic do this to you. I am sure he is trying to punish you or maybe trying to add cold towards you.”“This is not Alpha Dominic's words, the elders make their move first.”“How do you know?”“Dominic might be cold, however he is considerate. This must be because he doesn't have a choice and he's hoping I would reject it.”“You trust him that much?”“This is not about trust. I had a sprain yesterday. I'm certain he wouldn't want me to go there but tomorrow morning.”“If you say you trust him, who am I to say otherwise. However, men can be tricky. You never can tell what they th

  • Alpha’s last choice.   Calla’s POV continued.

Calla's POVHarper's statement was too vague for her to comprehend.“How do I become a player when I am originally a pawn?” She asked, confused.“You have to beat them at their own game. If you don't do that, you might end up being their pawn till your last breath.”“So what do we do?” Calla asked.“First is you control them rather than have them control you.”“You are still speaking in the language I'm not certain I get very well. Can you be more straightforward?”“This is exactly what I don't like about giving you instructions, you just don't get to be patient enough and by doing that, I can't control how you consume information.”“Okay, I'm sorry. Let me listen properly now.”“Good! You need to leave the board as a play tool. Now that you are aware of being played, the first thing is play along. Give them reasons to see they could still play around you while you stylishly turn the game in your favor”“Okay, Alpha Dominic is smart, but he still sees me as a weak Luna, and I'm not ev

  • Alpha’s last choice.   Alpha Dominic’s POV..

Alpha Dominic's POVHe went into his study and picked up some books. However his mind kept getting divided. He thought about the method to use to make sure he was able to read but none was coming forth.“What exactly is Calla's problem? I just wish to know. I need to work on my ability to read minds. Maybe that will help me in her case. I'm starting to get fed up. She is just an annoying brat who will not let anything slide.” He was saying to himself flipping through pages of books as though those lines were there.“She was starting to impress me, however her recent behavior shows that it's a no go area for me else, I'm going to be in trouble. I just want to know who I am with. Maybe the moon goddess can put some love in our midst. I'm thinking too far.”Dominic wasn't settled. He stood up and paced the room.“What exactly is her issue? It doesn't look like she hates me but she doesn't like me either.”He dropped the book, his hands on his waist, “when I heard it was her, I thought it

  • Alpha’s last choice.   Dominic shows care.

Calla was refraining from showing her smile to Dominic.Dominic on his own was invested in getting her to her room.He didn't even know she was smiling. The ice cubes arrived just in time.Dominic laid Calla on her bed and was checking the knee down to ankle to be sure where she feels pain or where might be swollen.“You shouldn't stress this leg after today. I don't know what caused you to twist your ankle so much.”“It was an oversight.” Calla answered“Are you sure or you are trying to avoid me?”“What's there to avoid in you?”“I am fearful enough for you to avoid me. Probably your worst enemy.”“I am not afraid of you. And yes, I'm not avoiding you.”“I am sure you won't even have a reason to think you have a mate somewhere now that your friend is around.”“Did I smell jealousy in the room? I'm not sure.” She jest“I'm not jealous. I'm just saying. It's not as if there's something special that I want you to do. Staying in your corner is sometimes better.”That didn't sit well wit
