The journey from my pack Moon City pack, to the Wolf-Thorne pack where Helen had made a new life was a very short one.

It was too bad that she had chosen such a nearby place to start afresh. If she had wanted to be out of my reach for ever - if that was even possible - then she should have travelled farther away.

But all that didn't matter now. I had kept watchful eyes on her over the years. And now I needed her. And I wanted her back.

The car pulled up in front of Alpha Wulfric's residence, the leader of Wolf-Thorne pack. The gates were opened for us and my Beta drove us into one of the designated parking spots.

The sun was beginning to set, hiding beneath the thick clouds that overshadowed it, when we stepped out of the car. I looked briefly up at the sunset. I loved staring at the sunset. It made me feel peaceful and alive. But right now, there was an important task at hand.

Alpha Wulfric received us warmly, offering us seats in his vast parlour. A little boy of about seven who

A knock came on my door, I rushed to it and opened it. " You are being asked to be at the main hall," one of the guards said. I frowned, why would it be this early? I checked the time and saw that it was not so early. I had to rush with my preparations. I do not like it here and I have to make sure I do this so fast so I can leave this place. I got out of the room and made my way to the big hall; I still knew my way around because the place had not changed much. I was expecting a different look but it still had that same old look that I left behind. I walked into the hall and I could feel the eyes of people that were there. I'm sure they were not expecting it to be me, the elders looked at me in wonder. The daughter of the man they had all agreed to kill was back, and this time around, it was their Alpha needing my help with what they wanted. They led me to the front seat. It was comfortable, but I knew enemies were all around me, and I could not afford to be so comfortable arou

As he drove closer to the house, there was this fear that I felt, I was scared that he was taking me to a place where I was going to get punished for running away. I felt he was bringing me there using my son as an excuse to cage me and to own me. It was a hard pill to swallow. I could not believe that I was back to the place I had run away from so I could be free. I did not feel okay at all, I stepped into the place and ran my eyes all over the house. It has changed a bit but it still had that old look attached to it and still had that old feeling as well. The park I had played in with my father and my mother flashed before my eyes, a lot was going on in my head. " Are you okay? We should go in" Damian said. I hated his guts; he thought he could control me or drive me around the place like I was a child. " I want to remain here for now," I said. " Why? You look tired" he said. I did not want to think that he was looking after me. I did not want to think that he cared about

  • Alpha’s regret : The return of his rejected mate   Chapter 9 : Back to her former pack

Damian's POV:Helen came into the room looking dejected and it was easy to tell how much the news of her son getting kidnapped had gotten to her. I couldn't help but follow her every move with my eyes, noting how she pointedly avoided my gaze. Several years had passed and she hadn't changed much. Her gait, the way she walked, it was all very familiar. But there was a different aura surrounding her now. The air of the timid woman that would succumb to my every whims was gone. From the set of her jaw and her steely gaze, she would no longer take sh*t from anyone. This observable changes I garnered merely from looking at her thrilled me. And I so couldn't wait to decode the new Helen, and discover what made her tick. And when she finally met my eyes after I had issued my wish to leave immediately, I was not prepared to feel the primal urge rise in me to claim her, hold unto her and never let her go back to whomever the d*mn partner was! Many years might have gone by, but the things

Helen's POVThe guards at the gate received me immediately I arrived, already expecting me. I found a spot to park, beside a sleek very expensive looking car that I knew could only belong to one man.Alpha Damian. Dread pooled in my stomach. It had come as a great shock when Alpha Wulfric had told me that Damian had arrived and was waiting. Waiting to take me with him. They likely had already concluded in certainty that I would be up for their deal. I gritted my teeth. A habit I had perfected over the years. If not for the unexpected turn of events, if nothing had happened to my son, I would have been coming over with negative news. I got out of the car, walking up slowly to the big house, as a servant ran forward to meet up with me, and possibly direct me to where they all were.“Miss Helen Summer?” She asked. “The one and only.” I replied snarkily, causing a little smile to play on her lips.“Come with me then.” She turned forward.I took a deep breath as I followed after her.

Helen's POV I was hyperventilating, struggling to grasp at my reality, to accept the words I had just heard. My son…kidnapped? No way. “How? Weren't you two home together? How the f*ck*ng hell did this happen!” I screamed. “We went out to get a little something for dinner. Then…you know how Alex can be, he ran off after some bird, turned a corner to an empty street. It all happened so fast, Helen. And there they were, in the same black van you cops have spotted several times. Like they had planned it and laid in wait for us. They - they grabbed him and threw him in.” His voice broke, unable to continue anymore. “But why him?” I uttered in a strangled voice. Why him? The rogues had only injured all other little boys so why had they chosen to kidnap my little boy in my own case?“I wish I knew, Helen.”“What about the note? How did a note come about? What does it say?”“They threw the note out as I kept running after them and sped away. I called the police to go after them and
