Amber’s pov After waking up on top of Kenzo, I left a note for Axel under his bedroom door. I know he had no right to mad at me, but I wanted to keep the peace and explain. Nothing happened, I wasn’t in the right place in my life to date anyone right now. Even though Ripley very much disagreed with this. Axel’s pov I was working in my office, reading the book Amber gave me when I spotted her from my window. It was hot outside and I could see she was sweating, a drop of sweat trickled down her back. She was wearing a crop top and she looked so good. My wolf was urging me to go to her, I needed to fix whatever was between us. I had loved spending time with Elias by myself, but I wanted to spend time with her too. This distance between us didn’t feel right. I finished the chapter on Elias. Amber’s pov After Axel had calmed down, I left his office in a daze. I had never seen Axel cry and my heart was breaking for everything he was going through. I had killed men and woman myself in battle, but this was personal. I could understand how he could snap, his father had been a horrible man. I mindlinked Kenzo to tell him I was okay, it was not my place to tell him more about Axel. "Kenzo, I am okay and Axel has calmed down." "What the hell is wrong with him?! Axel's pov I had the most awful nightmare, I was reliving the night I killed my father and this time I couldn’t stop my father from hurting my mother. Suddenly I felt a sense of calm, a feeling of warmth against my chest. I was snapped out of the nightmare and was now laying down in a field of wildflowers, feeling the sun on my skin. I had never slept so well. I woke up feeling the warm feeling against my chest leave, I heard the door to my room open and close. I was still not fully awake and felt relaxed by the scent that surrounded me. When I woke up a half hour later I wondered what had happened. Had I dreamed the scent and the sound of my door? When I went downstairs I saw Amber and Elias, I had made plans to spend most of today with Elias. Amber was looking very nervous and tried to leave as soon as I walked in. Amber’s pov Today we would join the Crimson Moon pack. The ceremony was in the afternoon and the party started around five, we would be served dinner during the party, Maria told me. Elias was so excited he woke up very early, I told him he could sleep in my bed for a bit. It would be a long day. I hadn’t been training with Ripley last night, I wanted to have a night to relax. I was watching a movie in bed, when I wanted a snack. When I went to the kitchen I ran into Axel. He was thankful that I had stopped his nightmare, but seem to think he would have to deal with them alone. We might not be mates, but if I could help him through such a debilitating nightmare I would. If my presence was enough to calm him down, why would he need to suffer alone? Amber’s pov While the rest of the pack headed to the party Axel, Elias and I went to the packhouse to change clothes. Maria had already prepared everything, our clothing was laid out in our room and then the make-up and hair person would come and help us with the rest. Elias didn’t need any make-up, but someone was coming to put the finishing touch on his hair. It all went pretty fast, we didn’t want to miss too much of the party. We all met in the hall when we were finished. My hair was pulled back with little clips, making my face stand out. The make up artists had used various shades of green eyes shadow to match my dress and my lips were a deep red to go with my hair. I was wearing my new dress with some golden heels, that I could just comfortably walk on. I wondered how long that would last though. Axel’s pov I woke up and got some breakfast, usually Amber and Elias were up around this time too. I ask some of the kitchen staff and they hadn’t seen either of them. They were both probably still sleeping, I would wake Elias up myself and let Amber sleep in. When I went inside Elias’ room the bed was empty. I started to panic and rushed to Amber’s room to wake her up to help me find Elias. I entered her room and saw the both waking up in her bed, confused by my sudden arrival. They both looked adorable though, with their sleepy eyes staring at me. I explained what happened and helped Elias get ready for today, picking an outfit for the ceremony. I knew Amber had bought another outfit for the party, so I picked the first shirt I could find and some black trousers. He looked so cute, dressed up like a little gentleman. Amber's pov Saturday morning I woke up by my alarm, I was sleeping in Axel’s room and he had me wrapped in his arm. I smelled eucalyptus and sandalwood all around me and did not want to leave at all. I tried to get out from under Axel’s arm. "Stay please. I’ll tell someone to wake up Elias and take him to breakfast. I’ll ask Maria, he seems to like her. Please, just for one morning?" I sighed. I really didn’t want to leave his warm bed and rush back to my own like I had done every morning for the last week. I turned around, now facing him. His hair was looking disheveled, I put my hair through it and tried to get it back to normal. "You’re even beautiful in the morning when you just woke up", he said.
