LOGINJordan seemed amused by my words and glanced over his shoulder at the men behind him.
“I thought I’d made a better impression on you that night.” He crossed his arms, and the others stepped away, leaving us alone.
“A lot has happened since then.” I stood up, refusing to appear fragile in front of him.
“You humans have a terrible habit of needing to justify everything.” He sounded bored, and I grabbed his arm, forcing his attention back to me.
Somehow, he noticed I wasn’t the same. My hair was no longer as long, and my expression lacked the confidence it once had.
“Say what you want and leave.” His tone was sharp, his patience wearing thin.
“Let’s go somewhere else, please.” I pleaded, trying to make him understand the urgency clawing inside me.
“Greyson?” He looked toward the waiter behind us, who handed him a silver key. “This way.” We walked to the back of the bar, where a small, hidden door waited. He unlocked it and stepped aside to let me pass.
As I entered, I realized it was a small office. A narrow desk, a large armchair, and in the corner, a brown leather couch completed the space.
“Don’t tell me you came all this way just to talk.” Jordan pressed against my back, his nose brushing my hair. His right hand settled on my stomach, pulling my body against his.
I stepped away, trying to keep the overwhelming attraction I still felt under control.
“I can’t.” I turned to face him, watching his expression darken with annoyance.
“Then say what you want and leave.” His response irritated me, but I swallowed the words burning in my throat.
“I need your help.” I said it all at once. I studied his face and grew even more irritated at the mocking expression there.
“I thought you had money.” He walked past me and dropped into the armchair, turning to face me.
“What I need, money can’t buy.” I bit my lip to keep from crying in front of him. “If it could, I would never have come looking for you.” Anger laced my voice.
“I don’t see how I can be useful.” He folded his hands on the desk, watching me.
I pulled my phone from my pocket and opened a photo. It was me and Benjamin on his first birthday. I placed the phone on the desk and slid it toward him.
“He needs your help.” Jordan looked at the photo, confused, then back at me as if the pieces were starting to fall into place.
“Are you saying this pup is mine?” My blood boiled at the way he referred to my son.
“Watch your mouth, you idiot. Don’t call my son that.” I slammed my hand against the desk, and a cruel smile curved his lips.
“I don’t think he’s mine.” He pushed the phone back toward me and leaned into the chair again.
“You don’t get to think. I know, and that’s enough.” He stood, bracing his hands on the desk as he leaned in, face to face with me.
“If you don’t need money, then what do you want?” I stepped back, grabbing my phone again and switching to another photo. This time, Benjamin lay in a hospital bed, tubes in his nose and wires attached to his small body. I pushed the phone toward him once more.
“My blood isn’t compatible.” He picked up the phone, studying the image far more carefully this time. “He has a rare form of leukemia. The doctors don’t even know what it is.” His eyes lifted to mine. “My son is dying, and you’re the only one who can save him.”
Jordan set the phone down and stepped away, processing my words.
“If you want payment, or any kind of deal, I’m willing. I’ll do whatever you want. Just save my son.” He turned back to the phone, still deep in thought.
“How can you be sure he’s mine?” The question ignited my anger, but I needed him to understand.
“I haven’t been with another man since that night.” He turned fully toward me. “The moment I found out I was pregnant, everything became about him. Nothing else has mattered since Ben got sick.”
“And you only thought to tell me about this child now? That seems a bit illogical. I’ll think about it.” He shrugged and headed for the door.
“Think?!” I said, stunned.
“You really expect me to take your word for it, human? I’ll conduct my own investigation. If he is my son, I’ll help him.” He opened the door, but I stepped in front of him and shut it again.
“You don’t believe me?” I pressed myself against the door, blocking his way.
“No.” He leaned closer, his face inches from mine. “I don’t believe humans.” He inhaled my scent, something sparking in his expression. “Your scent has changed.” His jaw tightened with a sharp click. “How did I not notice?” His irritation deepened.
“Jordan, please.” I dropped to my knees in front of him. “Please, I don’t know what else to do.” I lifted my face to meet his, the air thick with his superiority. “I’ll do whatever you want.” My voice broke.
“Get up, weak human.” He stepped back, and I collapsed forward from the sudden loss of support. “I said I’ll assess the situation myself. Send me the boy’s medical tests. I’ll take them to a doctor I trust. And if,” he emphasized, “if that boy is my son, I’ll do whatever is necessary.” I stood, trying to hold back my tears. “But that will come at a price.” My eyes locked onto his.
“What price?” I asked, already knowing I wouldn’t like the answer.
“If that boy is my son, he will be raised by me.” My jaw dropped instantly. “You’re far too weak to train him.”
“He’s not a dog to be trained.” I snapped, stepping toward him.
“But he is the son of an Alpha… and he will be trained as one.”
BenjaminI walk through the company corridors, observing every detail with a mixture of admiration and responsibility. The bustling offices, the meeting rooms where major decisions are made, and the diligent employees carrying out their daily tasks remind me of the journey my family has taken to reach this point.I remember the days of my childhood, when I used to visit this place with my parents. It was fascinating to watch them in action, discussing business strategies and mapping out plans for the company’s future. Now, as the heir to the Jones-Reynolds dynasty, I feel the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. But I also feel a deep gratitude and pride for what my parents built. Under their leadership, the company thrived, expanding into new markets and reaching new heights of success. I am aware of the great challenges I face, especially now that I have just become CEO of this empire. As I watch the employees working in harmony, I reflect on the core values my parents always t
JordanI stand before the altar, my heart pounding hard in my chest as I wait anxiously for Celine to appear. The church is filled with pack members and a few of Celine’s closest friends, all gathered to witness this special moment. Photographers and reporters capture every detail, but my eyes remain fixed on the entrance of the church.Ton stands at my side as my best man, watching my every move and overseeing the security of the entire place. Even though our enemies were dead, I didn’t want anything to ruin this moment.“Is she almost here?” I asked him, nervous.“Almost, my Alpha.” He smiled, noticing my unease, and spoke quietly into the earpiece. “Benjamin is about to walk in.” I held my breath as the instrumental music began to play.Benjamin entered the church accompanied by two older children who represented the entire pack. His elegant little suit was identical to mine, filling me with pride. He smiled when he saw me at the end of the aisle and tried to run toward me, only to
CelineBeneath the mantle of moonlight, I walk through the dense canopy of trees, each step echoing in the silence of the forest. Elowen had prepared the herbs and potions needed for my offering at the Wish Tree, and now, following her instructions, I make my way along this solitary path. The route is familiar, but tonight there is a sense of anticipation in the air, as if the forest itself is aware of the importance of my request. As I move forward, I feel my heart beating stronger in my chest, a mixture of hope and apprehension taking hold of me.At last, I catch sight of the imposing figure of the Wish Tree ahead. Its branches stretch toward the starry sky, its presence radiating an aura of power and mystery. This is where I must make my petition to the Goddess of the Moon. This is where I must plead for her blessing. With a deep sigh, I approach the tree, feeling the pulsing energy of the place. I feel small before its grandeur, yet a sense of determination strengthens inside me.
CelineSeveral weeks had passed since we defeated the witch, and life was slowly returning to normal. Jordan was handling some pack matters, while Elowen and I stayed home, dealing with daily chores and, of course, company business. Benjamin was at the wolf daycare, learning to navigate his new discoveries.“I’m still not sure if we should hold our wedding in Seattle, Elowen,” I commented as we organized some paperwork scattered across the living room table. “My life is here now.”Elowen looked at me, her eyes full of curiosity. “Are you worried about something specific?”I shook my head, a little hesitant to share my fears. Still, I knew I could trust Elowen. “The excessive attention we get when we’re there,” I admitted, feeling a knot form in my throat. She gazed at me with understanding and placed a comforting hand over mine. “I get it, but it’s always been like that, Celine. The spotlight turned to you two because of the merger news between the construction company and the lumber
JordanI ran toward the place where Celine had taken Benjamin to keep them safe while we dealt with the witch. My heart pounded hard in my chest after that victory. When I finally spotted them through the glass door of our house in the distance, a sigh of relief escaped my lips. Celine stood there, holding Benjamin in her arms. Both looked frightened but safe.I reached them in quick strides. Celine opened the door and ran toward me. I shifted into my human form and pulled them into my arms.“Thank the Goddess,” I murmured, breathing in their scent, my voice thick with emotion. “Are you all right?”Celine looked up at me with eyes shining with relief and smiled—a smile that lit up my entire soul.“We’re fine, Jordan,” she answered, her voice soft and reassuring. “Benjamin woke up a few minutes ago.”I held them even tighter, feeling an enormous weight lift from my shoulders. I looked at Benjamin, who was smiling, nestled between us, and a wave of calm washed over me.“What happened?”
JordanThe tension was palpable as I watched the witch’s spirit direct all her fury at Elowen, who held the objects that could destroy her. Wrapped in a protective veil of magic, the hybrid kept us safe from the spirit’s advances. We knew we were at a disadvantage, but we could not retreat. Celine stood at my side, cradling Benjamin in her arms, her eyes brimming with tears as she waited for my instructions.“Celine, you need to take Benjamin and get away from here,” I said, my voice low but firm. “Elowen, Ton, and I will deal with the witch. We’ll keep her occupied while you find somewhere safe.”Celine hesitated for a moment, but then nodded, her motherhood warring with the strength of her wolf. She kissed Benjamin’s forehead and began to move away, though not before casting one last worried glance in our direction.“We’re going to destroy this spiteful creature, my Luna,” I promised her, knowing the words were meant as much for myself as for her.As soon as Celine withdrew, I turne
