INICIAR SESIÓN“Alpha? What was he talking about?” Jordan’s words echoed in my mind, leaving me confused and shaken.
“What do you mean by that?” I managed to say, even as my legs trembled and shock wrapped around me. “You’re going to take my son away from me?” I asked, resigned, though a thread of desperation laced my voice.
“If he’s mine, then yes. That’s exactly what I’ll do.” The devilish smile returned to Jordan’s face, feeding on his satisfaction with the situation.
“Go to hell!” I shuddered, bracing myself against the desk. “You and your damned blood. I never needed you, and now you’re threatening me? Don’t bother, I’ll figure something out.” As I tried to walk away, Jordan grabbed me roughly, pulling me back.
“You should have thought about the consequences before, Celine. Now I’ll find out the truth, whether you like it or not.” His voice dripped with hatred as he stared at me.
“I order you to stay away from us.” I said it sharply, meeting his gaze head-on, but the defiance in his eyes only seemed to fuel his desire to challenge me. I yanked my arm free.
“I don’t even know why I came here.” I walked to the door and opened it, turning back to face him. “The day I thought you were someone I could trust was a cursed one.” I slammed the door behind me and ran out of the bar. I got into my rental car, letting the tears fall freely down my face.
Jordan was an option, but I wouldn’t let him be the last one. There had to be another way to find a compatible donor for Benjamin. I wiped my tears with the back of my hand and grabbed my phone, calling my assistant.
“Diana, I need you to do me a favor,” I said, still sniffling as desperation tightened around my chest.
“Of course, Ms. Jones. Is everything alright?” my assistant replied.
“Find someone who can locate possible donors for Ben.” My eyes stayed fixed on the steering wheel as I spoke. “Anyone. Legal or illegal. I don’t care, as long as my son has a chance to survive.” There was silence on the other end of the line. “Diana?” I lifted my gaze and froze when I saw Jordan standing in front of my car, his arms crossed.
“Ma’am, the signal is terrible,” she said, while I kept staring at the man ahead of me.
“Just do what I asked.” I ended the call and fastened my seatbelt. I started the car and backed out of the parking lot.
I drove as fast as I could to the local airport, where the company jet was waiting for me. The emblem of Jones & Associates Construction stretched across the side of the aircraft. The moment I saw it, relief began to spread through me again. Soon, I would be back with my baby.
I handed the car over to my security guard and headed toward the pilot, who was waiting by the steps.
“You’re back sooner than expected, ma’am,” he said, greeting me.
“Just get me out of here, Carter,” I replied, taking a seat in the beige leather chair. “Benjamin needs me,” I muttered.
He looked at me with pity, and I shot him an irritated glance. I hated when people looked at me like that.
As soon as the jet took off, I pulled out my phone to check my messages, but nothing could hold my attention. Nothing except Jordan’s threatening words, still echoing in my mind.
I started searching what it meant to be an Alpha, and the results brought up countless references, one of them describing a wolf that leads a pack. I let out a small laugh at the thought.
“Was he insane?” I muttered, still amused by my search.
Everything about Jordan radiated leadership, but him believing it had something to do with wolves was absurd. My biggest mistake had been thinking he could help me in any way.
I kept reading and found multiple studies about werewolf species that supposedly still walked the earth, and that the region where Jordan lived had once been one of the most prosperous for their kind.
“He’s insane… and I’m worse for even considering this.” I shut off my phone, even more irritated.
When I finally arrived in Seattle, I went straight to the hospital, my heart tight with anxiety and fear. Benjamin was getting worse, and I couldn’t lose him. As I stepped inside, my mind was a mess, but I had to stay strong. I had to be there for my son.
A doctor, with tired and serious eyes, approached me while I waited anxiously in the reception area.
“Are you Benjamin’s mother?” he asked, his voice calm, though sadness lingered in his gaze.
“Yes, I am,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
The doctor nodded and led me into a private room. He began explaining Benjamin’s condition, but his words blurred in my ears. I struggled to maintain composure as he spoke about my son’s worsening state. Every word pierced my heart, and I felt powerless, on the edge of despair.
“He needs a compatible bone marrow donor as soon as possible,” the doctor emphasized. “Time is running out, and we don’t have a suitable match in our database. We’ve done everything we can, but we’re not seeing any improvement.”
I swallowed hard, fighting back the tears threatening to spill. Benjamin needed a miracle, and I would do anything to save him.
“Please, doctor… is there anything else we can do?” My voice trembled as I begged.
The doctor sighed, his expression heavy. “The only option now is to find a compatible donor. And quickly.”
His words echoed in my mind as I considered my next move. I had already set my assistant in motion to find potential donors, but time was slipping away, and I couldn’t rely on that alone. I had to find a way to save my son… even if it meant making a deal with Jordan.
In either case, I would lose my son.
But in one of them… he would still be alive.

Jordan’s POV“Do you want me to go after her, my Alpha?” Hector, my beta, asked.“No.” I spoke quietly, watching her jet take off. “She’s more powerful than I thought.” I turned to face him. “I want you to find out the truth about what she’s claiming. If that child is mine, then I’m the only one who can cure him… and I want him under my control.” Hector nodded and stepped away, leaving me alone in the empty stretch of the airport.I walked back toward the pack in my human form, trying to remember exactly when I had let myself slip… and ended up getting that woman pregnant. It had been rare for me to feel attracted to someone of that species. They were always weak and petty, bound by rules and fear. I could sense their weakness just by their scent. But Celine had been different. My attention had locked onto her the moment she walked into my bar. No one dared to look at her because they knew I wanted her. She carried a strength few humans possessed… and it stirred something in my wolf.

Jordan seemed amused by my words and glanced over his shoulder at the men behind him.“I thought I’d made a better impression on you that night.” He crossed his arms, and the others stepped away, leaving us alone.“A lot has happened since then.” I stood up, refusing to appear fragile in front of him.“You humans have a terrible habit of needing to justify everything.” He sounded bored, and I grabbed his arm, forcing his attention back to me.Somehow, he noticed I wasn’t the same. My hair was no longer as long, and my expression lacked the confidence it once had.“Say what you want and leave.” His tone was sharp, his patience wearing thin.“Let’s go somewhere else, please.” I pleaded, trying to make him understand the urgency clawing inside me.“Greyson?” He looked toward the waiter behind us, who handed him a silver key. “This way.” We walked to the back of the bar, where a small, hidden door waited. He unlocked it and stepped aside to let me pass.As I entered, I realized it was a s
Returning to that place was like reigniting one of the most intense nights of my life. I never imagined that visiting somewhere so far removed from my social circle, in such a small town, would turn my life upside down.I remember that the moment I walked in, I felt out of place. The people around me didn’t seem to notice my presence, and that unsettled me at first. With time, I realized they didn’t care about my background or my story. They were there simply to escape the complexities of the world.I chose a seat near the bar and asked the waiter for any strong drink that could push away thoughts of Lionel. After six years together, he had suddenly decided he wasn’t ready for a more serious commitment. That breakup shattered me. My plans of building a family had been reduced to ashes. At thirty-six, I had imagined myself in a stable relationship with children around me, but all that remained was an inexplicable ending to what we had.The loud music filled the space, masking the turmo
