DARIUS POV:

My day was already wrecked when Zixin informed me that he hadn't yet captured the rogue. It had been a week or two since he first told me about her, but I still hadn't been able to capture her in all this time. It seemed unthinkable because how could this happen in my territory? In my region, no mistakes or negligence were tolerated, so why was he being so careless as to trap a poor female rogue?

She piqued my interest. I've never heard of a female rogue capable of concealing herself from my men. There was no doubt that she was capable of capturing my attention.

But after I meet her, I intend to kill her in the most heinous way possible to spoil my perfect day.

I was getting ready for another dull but crucial meeting. I informed Zixin to notify Louise that I was going to meet him. I knew he'd be astonished after hearing the news because I rarely go to company, but when I do, it has to be for something incredibly urgent and vital.

I sat in the room, expecting to see Louise, but he was trying my patience as usual. The first and foremost thing I despised was waiting for someone who was supposed to be at our designated location before my arrival.

Annoyed, frustrated, and furious I told Zixin to go and bring the bastard here. I was sure no one could spare his life from my bare hands today. He was testing my limits which was not so good for anyone to do.

I was looking out the window when the door opened and two figures made their way inside the room only if my stare was on them I could see who they actually were but it wasn't like I didn't know. I couldn’t help when all my attention was drawn to the small yet fierce, weak yet strong woman following them inside the room.

There was something about her that wasn’t right and my sixth sense never lies when it comes to things like this. She was a mere human and anyone could tell this judging how she had no wolf scent but then why my wolf was so restless from the moment my eyes fall on her.

It was clear how scared she was when our eyes met and none of us tried to break our intense gaze. It has never happened before that I let someone stare straight into my eyes but I didn’t feel anger when she did it. In fact, there was something about her that made me want to explore more of her.

She was just a human like every other human being around me and I was the alpha. She looked innocent and pure when I was ruthless and a monster. There was nothing in common between us then what was this strange feeling I had in my body.

She broke our eye contact and I jerked off all the useless thoughts behind my head and tried to focus on the current situation that who she was and what she was doing here when this meeting was meant to stay confide.

I looked at Louise who was standing next to window like the most useless shit and enjoying the show. My gaze traveled to Zixin who explained the reason why she was there.

I didn’t know what was going inside the stupid brain of Louise because he knew what was it like to work for me and it was clear he was using the poor soul to keep himself safe but it wasn’t my place to worry for her because she was the one who agreed.

Zixin told her about my authority in this office and it was clear as water that she had no idea about who I was till now. It was enough to make some judgments as to how stupid she was to apply for the job here without doing research on which company she was going for.

I knew how difficult it was going to work with her but there was something about her that didn’t let me fire her after being hired for some minutes or an hour.

She was captive, attractive, and pretty but this was nothing I wasn't familiar with.

Zixin looked in Louise's direction unsure of whether he should start the meeting in front of this new girl or not but he like all this time ignored him. I wanted to punch him so hard that he will always remember this day for the rest of his life.

Zixin didn’t know what to do so I said instead, “Let’s focus on what we came here today.”

The purpose of today’s meeting was how to find the Tanzanite stone; one of the most powerful stones that exist in the werewolf world. Whoever has the stone considers the most powerful werewolf and Alpha. But we couldn’t talk about this in front of a newly hired employee.

We talked about random topics and once we were done Zixin told her to leave and wait for our orders to act upon things we discussed in the meeting.

All this time, my attention was drawn to one petite figure standing as if she was dying to leave the room more than we wanted her out. And when Zixin told her to leave her expression changed to that of happiness.

It was her first day and she was already slacking.

The moment she stepped out of the room I said, “Louise. Explanation.”

My voice was cold and sharp enough to dig a hole in a normal human being but Louise seemed unconcerned. I hated when he treat me like other lowly werewolves.

Zixin noticed my rising anger and said, “Louise, why do you insist to bring her here? The meeting was supposed to happen among us only.”

Jerk finally shifted his gaze towards me and shrugged, “I found her amusing.”

“That’s it?” I asked, not believing what I was hearing and he once again shrugged nodding his head.

If he wasn’t my best friend I would have already put him six feet under the ground but this wasn’t the only reason I wanted him around me.

“I did not come here to waste my time with your toy girls. Tell me about Tanzanite stone. Have you find it yet?” I asked Louise, “I guess you know how everyone is looking for it and if they get their hands on it before me-”

“Then their end is nothing but a death because only you deserve to rule this world,” he didn’t let me complete my sentence and said with serious expression on his face, “Give me few months, we are close to trace the location.”

Most of the time I didn’t like Louise but there was no one more dedicates to his work than Louise and he was the only one I could trust for Tanzanite stone.

Louise looks as if he doesn’t care about anything but this wasn’t true. He was one of the most powerful werewolves I knew who was wasting himself in useless activities. But just like everyone he also has his past experiences and a reason for everything he has become today.

“Granted! But remember just few months you have to complete the task or you know the consequences of losing.” I said, standing from my seat.

I could see him hiding his smirk as he added, “You won’t be disappointed, my dear alpha.”

In that instant, the room seemed to hold its breath, as if the universe itself were awaiting your response. But it wasn't just a query that I posed; it was an exploration of the intricate layers of my affection. My mother, with her unwavering support and boundless care, had molded me into the person I had become. Yet, you, my love, had carved out a niche within me that was uniquely yours, painting the canvas of my life with hues of passion and understanding. The notion that my concern could be compartmentalized, limited to just one person, felt foreign to the very essence of who I was. The words hovered on the tip of my tongue, begging to be spoken, yet bound by the shackles of consequence. A shadow loomed menacingly in the periphery of my thoughts – the looming peril that threatened to engulf not just me, but also the one who h

The sun began to paint the sky with hues of golden pink as a new day unfurled its possibilities. With our morning rituals completed, Darius and I embarked on a journey, our footsteps tracing a path towards a rendezvous that had been long overdue. The anticipation that swelled within me was akin to a symphony of butterflies, each delicate wingbeat a testament to the fluttering nervousness that accompanied this long-awaited meeting. As we drive, I couldn't help but let my mind drift back across the expanse of time, traversing the years that had stretched between the present moment and the last time I had laid eyes upon my mother. The chasm that had formed during that span was not merely physical but emotional, the bridges of connection having been worn thin by the relentless currents of circumstance. Yet, despite the passage of time and the erosion of familiarity, the pull to reunite remained an irresistible force, drawing me inexorably toward her.The streets we drove were lined with m

Each word he spoke was a brushstroke on the canvas of my understanding, painting a picture of his journey of self-discovery. His voice, a melodic cadence, carried the weight of profound realizations, "Life isn't a mere passage of time, a mechanical rhythm of inhales and exhales. It's a symphony of emotions, a journey of embracing desires and aspirations that are etched into the very fibers of our hearts."His eyes, shimmering like pools of contemplation, held mine captive as he continued to weave his narrative, "I've chosen to break free from the chains of monotony, to unshackle myself from the constraints of convention. With you as my guiding star, I've learned to embrace the unpredictable cadence of existence, to dance to the rhythm of my heart's desires."In that intimate moment, beneath the canopy of stars that seemed to shimmer in approval, his words carried a resonance that resonated within the recesses of my being.
