Chapter 14

Amelia woke up with the light from the window staining her face.

She sits up and saw Helga and Maisy fixing her clothes. They noticed that Amelia woke up and smiled.

"Young madam, you're awake," Helga said.

"Young madam, your eyes are swollen," Maisy said with a worried look on her face.

"Oh my, Maisy, go get the ice pack," Helga said, now noticing Amelia's very swollen eyes.

Amelia touched her eye, "is it that bad?" She asks.

"Very!" Helga and Maisy said in unison.

Amelia stood up and walked to the vanity. She saw her bloodshot eyes that looked as if she didn't sleep for days.

"Oh no," she whispered to herself.

"A-am I having breakfast with him?" Amelia asks.

The two maids looked at each other before looking at Amelia again.

"Of course, young madam" Maisy said.

"U-um. Can I have my breakfast in my room?"

"If the young madam wants to then, of course, you can," Helga said and smiled.

Damian was, as always, busy with work when someone knocked on the door of his study. "Come in," he said
