Chapter 66

Amelia walks with Damian towards the park that Damian had told her, with their hands intertwined. Damian was carrying the picnic basket that the maids had prepared for them before leaving. He had insisted that they be left alone with only Iago as their guard on their small picnic as they wanted some privacy and because he was certain that they would be safe. 

After picking a shaded spot on the grass, Damian laid the yellow picnic mat on the grass, then Amelia sat down and pulled the food out of the basket before placing it on the blanket. 

“It’s quite sunny today,” Amelia said, covering her eyes as she looks at the clouds. 

“Yes, it’s not really my favorite weather,” Damian said as he sliced a portion of the apple pie that Jack had baked for them and placed it on Amelia’s plate.
