The Alpha

Alpha Adrian POV

It’s been a very long day I had been in meetings all day and just want to get home and rest before I had to start it all over again tomorrow. It was already midnight and I had to be up at 4am for training and back on the road by 8am. We were maybe 30 mins from the pack house when all of a sudden something comes darting out of the woods and before we could avoid it. It was too late we hit it as the car comes to a screeching halt in the middle of the road, we all get out and notice it was maybe 10 ft in front of the in the middle of the road. My beta Lucas and My Gamma Garrett take off running and all I can hear my beta yell is “it’s a rogue she wolf she’s hurt pretty bad do you want me to take care of it”. I start walking closer when I noticed her scent, I could tell that she was a rogue but there was something different about her I could smell the scent of a rogue but there was also the scent of warm vanilla and honey. I yell NO and walk closer looking down at her with surprise and concern on my face I slowly leaned down to pick her up and all I could say was Mate.

I look towards Lucas and Garrett and notice the shear look of shock and confusion on their faces. When I look back down, I notice my mate was no longer in wolf form and had seemingly lost consciousness. I yell at the top of my lungs for Lucas and Garrett to hurry up and take off running towards the truck Lucas and Garrett close behind me. I hop in the back and grab a blanket to cover my mate while Lucas joins me and Garrett hops in the front to start driving.

We make it back to the pack house in 15 mins. Garrett’s impeccable driving skills got us here in record time. As we were pull into the garage I look down at my mate and quickly realize that her heart rate is starting to slow, and she starts to go limp in my arms. I shot out of the moving truck as fast as I could with my mate in my arms and took off running towards the pack hospital.

As soon as I got to the hospital doors, I yell for help multiple nurses and Dr.Brans rush towards me and grab my mate out of my arm. As soon as they took her, I mind linked Lucas and Garrett to come to the pack hospital. As soon as I was done doing that, I started frantically looking for Dr. Brans.

Dr.Brans is she okay I ask. No she isn’t okay her heart has stopped and we are in the process of trying to resuscitate her she has deep cuts and abrasions all over her body it also appears to like she had been chained by her wrist and ankles and someone had taken a sliver blade and started to cut up the inside of her thighs her face is also extremely swollen and bruised like she was just hit in the last couple hours she has multiple broken bones and she has a small tear in her liver as soon as we get her stable she will have to be rushed into surgery to fix the damage she explain.

As soon as I heard everything Dr.Brans had told me I felt this rage wash over me as I try to keep my wolf Max under control. I let out a deep deaf defying growl. Adrian Max says how the fuck did this happen to our mate I’m going to kill whoever did this we will kill whoever did this somebody will pay for hurting our mate like this.

I will kill whoever did this to her I will hunt them down and torture them just like they did to her as I yell, I start picking up and throwing chairs around and start breaking stuff. Alpha Adrian, you need to calm down Dr.Brans says this is a hospital calm down Alpha Adrian.

But it is too late as I start to feel Max slowly take over. Just then Lucas and Garrett rush in. What the fuck Adrian Lucas yells what the fuck is going on Garrett says to Dr.Brans. As Dr.Brans starts to explain everything to Garrett and Lucas tries to calm me I just get more and more outraged by hearing it all over again. Alpha Adrain calms down Lucas yells out not realizing it’s now Max that has fully taken over.

Just then I see her she’s still unconscious and barely breathing. I push Max back down and try to run over to her, but Lucas stops me where are you taken her, I yell. She has to go into surgery now Dr.Brans says. How long will it take? How long will it take for her to wake up? I ask. I’m unsure of how long it will take her body isn’t healing like a regular wolf it could be a couple hours or couple of days to a few weeks. As soon as I heard that I slumped back into a chair and started rubbing my eyes. Now that you are calm would you like to explain to me what happened before you got here Dr.Brans asked.

I looked up at her and slowly start explaining the very incident that brought us here tonight as soon as I was done, she just sat there looking at me blinking then says well that might explain the broken bones and torn liver but that doesn’t explain everything else. Oh, I will find out what happened and when I do that that son of a bitch will die. I have no doubt about that Alpha as she stands and starts walking away.

As soon as she was gone, I turn to Lucas and Garrett. Ok man explain Garrett says Yeah what the fuck man Lucas says. I look at both of them and say she’s my mate guys I tell them both. They both look at me dumbly. Well yeah, no fuck man we know that they both say at the same time. But what is going on with her I’m not sure guys I tell them she’s in pretty bad shape her heart stopped, and they had to resuscitate her and now she’s going into surgery. I sat there and explained everything the doctor told me and by the time I was done they were both equally pissed.

We all sit there in silence for what seems like hours when all of a sudden Lucas says but she’s a rogue. I let out and angry growl and turn to him. It doesn’t matter if she’s a rogue or not she’s still my mate, I let out a sigh but there is something off about her scent I can smell the scent of rogue but there is something else and it’s not the scent for her being my mate there is something different about her I turn to tell Lucas. I don’t know what it is, but I intend to find out.

It was already 4:30am and we have been sitting here for 4 hours it was already time for us to go to training, but we all decided not to today. We sat here all night and there was still no more updates on my precious mate. Lucas and Garrett both tried to get me to leave and head up to my room to rest but I was reluctant I wanted to be here when she came out of surgery. Garrett and Lucas both fell asleep in their chairs next to me, but I just couldn’t sleep I’m so anxious and raked with guilt from the previous night. Max, I called out are you still awake? Yes, Adrian I am how is our mate doing? He asks. I’m not sure right now she hasn’t come out I tell him, and he starts to whimper. I’ll let you know when there are any updates. He then lets out a loud howl and whimpers as he sneaks back to the back of my mind. I try to close my eyes to try and rest but I just couldn’t I need her I need to know if she is okay, I need to touch and hold her I say to myself.

“Sigh” As I try to close my eye again to rest, I feel a pat on my shoulder. When I open them it’s Dr.Brans. Dr.Brans how is she as I jump up out of my seat startling Garrett and Lucas awake. She’s stable Dr.Brans says you can go in but before you do you need to be calm; she doesn’t look the best and her condition isn’t out of the woods yet. I nod and sigh out of relief that she is stable but terrified to see her. Dr.Brans looks up at me then tells me she in room 1504 I will walk you over to her room as I start to walk that way I stop and look back and Garrett and Lucas who are standing right behind me. The look on my face tells them to follow and they nod and follow right behind me closely. They may be my Beta and Gamma, but they are also my best friends we grew up in this pack together and they understood I need them as friends and nothing more right at this moment.

We keep walking when Dr.Brans stops and turns to me. Then says remember Alpha be calm. I nod my head again and look back at Garrett and Lucas who also nod in agreement. When she opens the door, and we all walk in that’s when I see her. She so thins with light colored skin almond eyes heart shape lips and long chocolate colored hair that is so matted it makes it look shorter. She is covered head to toe in bruises which makes her skin look a shade darker. She has tubes coming out of her mouth to help her breathe and so many IVs hooked to her. I walk closer to her bed with Garrett and Lucas right behind me with a look of shock on their faces as I get closer, I just stop and collapses to my knees with tears coming down my face. Garrett and Lucas stop and help me up and try to comfort me when all I could think about is how I’ve looked so long for her and now she may never come out of this. They help me into a chair and grab two more chairs to sit next to me. I grab her hand she is cold to the touch. All I could get out was I’m so sorry cupcake I wish I would have looked harder for you and had found you sooner this would have never happened to you, but I promise when you wake up, I will never let this happen to you again no one will ever lay a hand on you again and whoever did this to you will pay for what they have done.

When I sat there for about an hour just holding her hand in silence I finally turn to Lucas and tell him cancel all meetings until further notice. He nods and says yes Alpha when her gets up and walks out to start making phone calls. I then turn to Garrett and tell him to inform the pack that I will be absent till further notice and to not disturb me. He nods and says yes Alpha when he gets up to leave, I stop him and tell him when you both are done with what I ask I want you to start looking into where she came from and what the fuck happened to her, I want the son of a bitch that did this to her to pay. He nods his head again and again says yes alpha I will inform Lucas when we are done. I nod and say thank you. And with that they were both gone, and I was left alone with my sweet cupcake.
