WRONG FEELINGS.

Daphne's POV.

“Do you like what you see?” Gabriel asked, holding his cock in his hand.

My heart shook as I glanced at it. I gulped, my body vibrating to the thump of my heart.

“Well, she can think whatever she wants to.” he said, stroking my face with a hand. “She means nothing to me now.”

My skin crawled with sparks of dread. I wouldn't have thought that he had fallen out of love with Emily. Whenever he was with her, it seemed like she was the only woman he could see.

Perhaps, I knew that he had always wanted me from the onset, and maybe I did too. But all that died the very moment Emily was announced as his mate. That ought to have been me. But then, I couldn't do anything about it because I didn't want to hurt my sister.

She'd only asked me to bring him his dinner because she'd a few things to attend to, and had promised not to stay long. Initially, I refused with excuses that I also had something to do. But then, a part of me wanted to see him. So, I had no choice than to bring him his meal.

If I'd known that it would turn out this way, then I would have arrived much earlier. Besides, I should have known that something was wrong the very moment I got to his room and realized that the door was opened. I walked in, and swept my eyes all over the place, but I couldn't find him.

But then, he was hiding behind the door. It was as if he knew that I waa coming. Few seconds after I walked in, he shut the door, and began to take off his clothes.

“I–I have no idea what you're talking about right now.” I stuttered, evading his gaze as I lowered my head. “Please, just let me go.”

“I wish I could,” he said, trailing kisses down my collarbone. “But I can't. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time.”

I panted softly as I felt his lips on my skin. It was as if my body was on fire. He lifted his face to me as he noticed that I was struggling to catch my breath.

“Are you alright?” he asked, pressing his body against mine.
