“I know we are mom. What do we do about it?” Karen asked. “ We can’t raise that money and unless we do the jerk will talk.”

“Craig should be able to. He is rich and he will be in trouble too if it came out he knew about the crime but didn’t report it.”

“Craig dosen’t have the money either.”

“Why? He is a Richards.”

She sighed. “I don’t know mom. But he really doesn’t. I am really scared! I will go to jail!”

“No you won’t! I will find the money no matter what. I promise.”

Karen nodded. Her mom always had a plan, but in case she didn’t, she had a plan of her own to fix Hal.

Hal sat sipping coffee. His bag was packed and he was waiting for Craig. In a couple of hours he would get the money and be on a plane to Europe. He was supposed to go to a meeting with his bosses but he’d called in sick. Adele would think he with his boss and that would buy him time. She may even drop the whole thing if she saw he was no longer around.
