Blake quickly dropped his gaze upon hearing Chloe’s question. He had a pinched expression as he remembered his last year in college when he found love.

He suddenly raised his face as he stood up, facing Chloe head-on while explaining, “There is this woman I’ve loved so much that it drove me crazy but she got snatched away from me right before I could make her mine.” He paused as if to gather more courage to pour out his heart.

“I will always love her but I will never be able to have her so I decided to settle for what my parents want.” He confessed and Chloe almost jumped up in delightment as if she already knew she was the one he was referring to but she had to compose herself as the door suddenly flung open, revealing Zane who was standing right in front of the door.

He looked quite flustered by the scene but he quickly apologized and almost closed the door when he noticed who was standing before Blake.

“Mrs. Marlowe?” He muttered in horror as he slowly turned his gaze to Blake.
