Justine-On the afternoon of Saturday the 24th

I have had a decently busy day, and I’m always hungry. But the low rumble in my stomach is nothing compared to the need to get out of here. My mind is racing to see a certain special someone.

“Lunch at Toby’s again?” Damien asks after my fourth meeting.

“Yes, please, I have a craving,” I grin.

I’m thinking more about Lola and not the food. It’s not often I daydream, but her eyes have haunted me since yesterday. My lunches at the diner are more enjoyable with Lola in the view, not because of her looks but her smile. How had I not noticed her before?

“Are you getting a chocolate chip cookie again? That was good,” Damien gives me a knowing look.

“If the mood arises,” I say coyly. “What would you like to eat? And I’ll order it for you.”

I’m trying not to sound too obvious; I want to be alone again. But I also hate excluding Damien. He’s better company than most and makes my meals fun.
