Chapter 06

Chapter six

Arthur

Zoey sat right in front of me on the bed, pouting with her hands crossed over her chest. I laughed as I watched her, finding her angry face cute. I moved from my place on the chair and went to sit beside her on the bed.

I hugged her to my side trying to comfort her and make her happy again, but she shrugged my hand off her shoulder. I put my hand back on her shoulder, but she shrugged it off again.

"Oh, come on Zoe. How long do you want me to keep apologizing to you? You know it wasn't my fault that I got married to someone else." I moved closer to her so that there was no space between us.

"Don't talk to me. That's not why I'm angry right now. I'm still angry about that, but that's not the reason right now." She said looking away.

"Okay, so what is the reason?" I asked, turning her around to face me.

"You told me that you wouldn't waste time in divorcing her, but till now you're still with her. I should have known you were just bluffing when you said that."

"I wasn't bluffing, Zoey. The thing is I can't divorce her right now. My father is still the alpha. He'll make sure I stay with her till the end or he won't make me alpha after him." I sighed and removed her hands from their folded position and held them.

"I have to continue this way, at least until I become Alpha."

"But then she would become Luna and rule over the pack with you. What if you fall in love with her? What do I do then?" She said

"That doesn't matter. I could always divorce her after I am made Alpha and most importantly, I will never ever fall in love with anyone that is not you. You're the only one for me and nothing will change that." I said and placed both of my hands on either sides of her face.

"Don't let that bother you, okay? You are going to be my Luna whether anyone likes it or not." I said and she sighed, finally calming down.

Zoey and I had been dating for years now. I loved her more than I loved anyone in my life. She meant the whole world to me, but always seeing her sad because I was married to another woman was heart breaking for me.

She had been patient enough to wait all this time, but now I was bringing up another excuse to have her wait for me again. I would have been angry the same way she was if I was in her situation.

"I have another solution." She said and I turned to her looking her, wondering what her solution could be.

"We could always kill the girl." She said and I gasped, looking at her with a shocked expression on my face.

"Why would you even think of that?" I said, frowning.

"That's an easy option we could just cover it up as an accident or a suicide, or something like that."

"It's just another option that we could consider. We would have to wait years for your father to die before you can divorce her and make me Luna and I don't think I can wait that long. Watching you call another woman your wife is painful to me." She said, her frustration creeping into her voice.

"I know that, Zoey, but Hazel never did anything wrong to us or even me. She was forced into this the same way I was, so let's not use that against her. She might be just as unhappy as we are."

"It was just a suggestion." Zoey grumbled.

"It was but it was a really insensitive and awful idea. Please don't say something like that again, okay?"

"The way you're talking it seems like you like her." She said, raising one eyebrow.

"I just understand the situation better, that's all, and she's a really nice person so I don't see why I shouldn't be nice to her. I tried to reason with her.

She cleared her throat and nodded. "Okay, if you say so, then I choose to believe you."

"That's my girl, now gimme a kiss. I need to start heading back now."

"You see!! You can't even spend a long time with me because of that girl. You hardly spend enough time with me already." She complained again.

I rolled my eyes and groaned. "Stop being unreasonable, Zoey! We've just talked about this." I said and she pouted.

I sighed. "Okay, I'm sorry for shouting at you, but you have to understand. I'm a married man now, I can't be away from home a lot. Please try to understand me, my love."

She sighed but didn't say anything.

"Come on, I'll come see you tomorrow. Is that okay?" I said and her face brightened up and she smiled and nodded.

"Yes it is." She giggled, hugging me.

I wrapped my hands around her waist and pulled her close to me, basking in her warmth.

She made me happy, no matter what she did.

I pulled back from her and placed a kiss on her forehead before placing a light one on her lips a pulling back. She wrapped her hands around my neck and chased my lips, kissing me deeply, not wanting to pull away. I removed her hands from my shoulder and moved back.

"That's enough, I should get going." I said and detached myself from her, standing up from the bed.

"Walk me to the door." I said holding out my hand.

She took it with a smile on her face and linked her arm with mine as we marched downstairs to the front door. We stood in front of my car and I looked around to check if anyone was outside before I gave her one last kiss on her lips and climbed into my car.

I smiled as I saw her waving at me throughy side mirrors as I drove off. I really hoped that the plan we had would work out and we would end up together and happy.

The drive to the house didn't take long as I reached there in about twenty minutes. I got out of the car and entered into the house.

I need to talk to Hazel.

I walk into the house and see one of the maids cleaning the dining table and I walk up to her.

"Where is Hazel?" I asked her and she jumped back as she stared at me, shocked.

I guess I scared her.

"Good evening, Arthur. Sorry, I didn't see you there." She bowed.

"That's no problem, I was the one who scared you. So, do you know where Hazel is?"

"She should be upstairs in her room right now." I nodded and left where she was heading to Hazel's room.

I knocked at the door when I got there and it opened up a few seconds later. Hazel was standing there in a short, cute dress and she had a hair band on her hair holding her hair back as she looked, curious about who it was.

She looked cute.

My eyes widened at the thought and I mentally slapped myself, calling myself to order.

"Hey, Arthur, I didn't know you were back. What are you doing here?" She asked opening the door fully.

"Yeah, I just got back and I need to talk to you about something." I said and she nodded.

"Okay, would you like to come in?." She stepped aside, gesturing for me to go in.

"Thank you." I said and stepped into her room.

It was the first time I was entering into Hazel's room since we got married. Her room looked really cozy and neat there was no stray piece of clothing lying around on the floor or anywhere.

"You can sit there." She gestured to the chair in front of her dresser, while she sat on the bed.

"I really hope you don't take offence in what I am about to tell you." I said.

She laughed a little. "How can I know when you've not even said it?" She raised an eyebrow at me.

"Well, we've been married for a couple of months, and things are going well, but this isn't what I want for myself." I said and she frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean.i have to tell you something before it's too late and it ends up badly for both of us."

Well, not just from staying married to you, but also from Zoey's constant complaints.

"What are you trying to say, Arthur?" She asked, and I noticed a strain in her voice.

I really didn't want to do it, but I didn't have any choice. I didn't want to catch her unaware with a divorce when the time came, that was why I wanted to tell her, so she could prepare herself.

"I don't think this marriage will work out, Hazel."
