Chapter 3

"Kaedence, did you hear me?" Looking at my father I felt a wave of heat come across my face when I lashed back "Excuse me!? I have trained my whole life to become alpha of this pack, I've worked 100 times harder than anyone else to get here, and for what just to hand to over to the golden child because of some stupid fucking tradition?" cursing made my father leave his seat, "now young lady you will not speak to me in that tone or use that language in my house do you understand?" I snapped back "Oh I forgot I am not the chosen one in this family I don't get to say or do whatever I want" I felt my mother's grip on my hand get tighter. I shot this evil look towards my brother, "you knew, you knew about this and didn't tell me?" He went to go speak but I shut him out "no you don't get to talk to me. I've always had your back, picked up your slack, and have made you into the warrior you are today! with out me you would be nothing!" I hissed. My father slammed his hand down on the table and a slight whimper left my lips. "quite!" he shouts you will not talk like this in front of your mother or our guests!" he continues "Now apologize for your behavior" I just look at him with anger. "NOW!" he commanded. I whimeper and apologize. As my father sits back down I couldn't help but feel Devllin's eye on me I look at him just to see this side smirk on his face rolling my eyes at him my father continues to talk.

"Kaedence, your efforts to prove yourself to run this pack have not gone unnoticed. Now I understand that we should have told you sooner, but you were also training your brother to be just like you. If we would have told you, you would have stopped training. I am sorry it has to be this what but what is done is done! You will make a great addition to Alpha Harrisons pack". As those last words left his lips I began to see red, This was no ordinary dinner they were setting me up! They were arranging the rest of my life for me. "Harrisons pack?" I snapped " I am to marry Harrison?" I spat. My father shot me an angry look. "No" he snapped back " you are to marry Devllin, he is becoming Alpha in 2 weeks and will need a Luna by his side to help run things." 

Just as my father finished his sentence, I stood from the table and shouted "I will not do this!" , and turned to run upstairs. "Kaedence!" he shouted "Sit down now!" He commanded, stopping me dead in my tracks, I turned and sat back down. He looked over at me and tells me "You will do this and you will be leaving first thing in the morning, understood?" I sat in silence not looking at him or anyone else at the table. "DO YOU UNDERSTAND!" he shouted. "Yes Alpha" I whispered. Taken back by the fact I called him alpha instead of father he excused me from the table and told me to go pack.

Leaping from the table my mother still holding my hand tightly mind-links me "Kaedence dear I will be up shortly to help you" I cut the link off and jerked my hand from hers. I swear I could feel her heartbreak as I did this. I ran to my room and slammed my door. I could feel Dillion try to push a mid-link but I shut him out. I sat quietly on my bed and cried for what felt like hours, I hear my father and mother tell Alpha Harrison and Devllin goodbye. I watched out my window as they got in their car, before getting in Devllin looked up at me with a side smirk almost as if he felt bad for me. "yeah right, he doesn't feel bad for you" Tia says "Hes practically going to hold you prisoner" she snaps. "And you thought he was cute" I chuckled at her. "Yeah well he is cute, maybe being his prisoner won't be such a bad thing after all" she laughs. Pushing Tia to the back of my head I hear a knock on my door. "Kaedence, can I come in?"
