Sara’s POV

The next morning, Zack emerged from his room looking tired and distant. It was not until later yesterday I discovered there was an adjoining room. We had another day of scheduled outings, but the atmosphere between us had grown even colder. We went through the motions, posing for photos and engaging in superficial interactions, but the facade was becoming harder to maintain.

At one point, as we stood on a picturesque street corner, Zack turned to me with an intensity that caught me off guard. “Sara, we need to talk.”

I nodded, feeling a mix of apprehension and relief. We found a quiet café and sat down, the photographer giving us some space for the first time.

Zack leaned forward, his expression serious. “I can’t keep doing this.”

I looked into his eyes, seeing the frustration there. “It’s been hard for me too.”

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “We need to find a way out of this. I can’t keep pretending.”

I felt a lump in my throat, my emotions t

Sara’s POV Days turned into weeks, and the atmosphere between Zack and me began to thaw. Our interactions, once marked by tense silences and cold shoulders, started to show signs of warmth, albeit small and infrequent. Each morning began with tentative attempts at conversation. At first, it was awkward and forced, but gradually, we found common ground. It started with the little things. Over breakfast, we'd talk about our schedules for the day. "So, what's on your agenda today?" Zack asked one morning, breaking the silence that had settled over our shared meal. I looked up, surprised by the question. "Um, just the usual. Sorting documents, paperwork. Nothing too exciting," I replied, trying to keep my tone casual. He nodded, taking a sip of his coffee. "We’ve got a meeting with the board. Should be interesting." "Good luck with that," I said, offering a small smile. "Thanks," he replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. These small exchanges

Sara’s POV The intensity of Zack’s kiss was overwhelming, I responded in kind, but just as quickly as it began, I pushed him away, my hands trembling with a mix of confusion and anger. "One minute you’re kissing me, and the next minute you’re distancing yourself," I said, my voice shaking. "What do you want from me, Zack?" He stepped back, his expression flat. "It was a mistake," he said coldly. "It won’t happen again." His words hit me like a punch to the gut. I felt tears welling up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall in front of him. Instead, I turned away, my heart breaking. "Fine," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "I won’t let you affect me again." Zack didn’t react. "Sara, this is just business." I spun around, my anger flaring. "Really? Because it sure seems like you’re enjoying watching me suffer. This is just business but you’re kissing me when there’s no outsider here." Zack’s face remained impassive. "This marriage is a business arrangement, not

  • Arrogant CEO   Chapter twenty eight

Sara’s POV Since Zack and I got married, we have established a routine of going home together every evening. Despite this regularity, our rides home have been marked by a pervasive silence, creating an atmosphere that is undeniably awkward and uncomfortable. Our lack of communication during these journeys has only served to heighten the strangeness of the situation, making each trip home feel like an uneasy ritual. However, today's events deviated from our usual pattern. After completing my work for the day, I meticulously gathered all my belongings, ensuring I didn't forget anything important. Once I was certain I had everything I needed, I made my way out of the office building. Typically, Zack and I would leave together, but today he seemed particularly reluctant to leave his office. I decided to wait for him outside, by the car that is always parked in the same spot, right in front of the office building. The car, a familiar sight in my daily routine, felt almost like a b

  • Arrogant CEO   Chapter twenty seven

Sara’s POV The ride to work was tense and silent, much like the days that preceded it. Zack and I shared the backseat, but not a word passed between us. The silence was deafening, a chasm growing wider with each mile. When we finally arrived at the office, Zack turned to me, his voice cold and distant. "We have a meeting with Derick in a few minutes. Prepare the conference room." I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. The thought of facing Derick again after our last encounter made my stomach churn, but I pushed the feeling aside and focused on my tasks. As Zack headed to his office, I remained outside, organizing the necessary documents and setting up the room. Time passed slowly, each minute feeling like an hour. Finally, Derick arrived, his presence instantly filling the room with an air of unwelcome tension. As we exchanged polite greetings, I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling his presence brought. The meeting started smoothly, discussions about business strategies an

Sara’s POV Back at the penthouse, the loneliness and confusion gnawed at me. Zack’s cold demeanor in Paris still lingered in my mind, and I needed a distraction. I decided to browse social media, hoping to find some clues or at least divert my thoughts. Opening Instagram, I went straight to Zack’s profile, scrolling through his posts and tagged photos. It was like stepping into a world where he lived a completely different life. One post after another showcased his professional achievements, glamorous events, and stylish outings, all portraying a confident and charismatic man. The stark contrast between his online persona and the man I knew in private was jarring. That’s when I stumbled upon a photo of Zack and Mr. Smith. Curious, I clicked on Mr. Smith’s profile. His bio revealed that he was a renowned stylist and fashion designer. I browsed through his posts, which showcased his work with various celebrities, including Zack. One post caught my eye—it was a behind-the-scenes
