I Miss You

"Come on Green, I'll take you home. Where is your home?"

Green was still shut her mouth, wondering how to respond. Whether to accept both the lecturer and her friend's brother offer or to reject that good will. After much thought, Green finally chose a second option, choosing to go home on his own, and so Green had promised Alta not to go near any other man.

"I'll leave alone Cher, thanks for your offer, Sir," said Green politely.

"It's been late afternoon Green, it's cloudy outside. What do you want to back home with?" asked Cherry, her eyes pointed to the sky which suddenly turning dark.

Green's eyes were on Cherry's side, it was true what she had said, and it seemed that it was going to rain soon, but Green insisted on going home on her own.

"I can ride an online transportation, Cher."

"Why choose to pay when someone offers you for free, Green?" Cherry asked without understanding Green's thinking.

"Cher, please I don't feel good about Mr.Langit," Green whispered in order Langit wouldn't hear.

Langit looked the interaction of two women in front of him. He could see Green talking to cherry in a whisper, but he could still hear it.

"It's okay, Green, let me take you home." Langit opened up, breaking the debate between the two.

Green looked at Cherry with a gaze of begging for help, but the one whom she begging to did not understand the code. Green thought what would happen if she was alone in the car with his lecturer, and what if Alta found out? It was certain that the man would be furious or maybe break up with her, and Green did not want it happen, Green loved Alta so much, she would do anything to keep the relationship with him.

"But...Sir" said Green still with her refusal.

The thunder thundered, the sky turned darker. It has not rained yet but the signs are showing, it is used by Cherry to lure Green back.

"You heard that sound, right? It's going to rain Green, or are you going to stay here?" asked Cherry which was answered by Green with shaking her head immediately.

"Then you have to come home with my brother, you just calm down, he is kind" Cherry said with a small laugh.

Green seemed to be pondering, if she had accepted Langit offer it would be the first time she had been taken home by another man, and what about her promise to Alta? But Cherry was right, the sky was going to be darker and it looks like rain was about to fall, she didn't have much time to think. Eventually, Green decided to accept Langit offer, after this she would apologize to Alta and explain everything, Green was sure he would understand.

"Don't I trouble you, Sir?" asked Green carefully.

"Not at all, come on."

Green looked at Cherry, she immediately nodded curtly. "All right, Cher, I'm back."

"Take a care, Green. Kak, be careful, drive my friend home until the house door, take care of her!" Cherry threatened Langit which answered by a simple reply.

"Okay, my talkative sister."

Before the end of the breakup, Cherry hugged Green tightly enough, she whispered her "If you need anything or you need a friend to talk to, you can come finding me, and we'll be friends from now on. You want to be my friend?"

From behind the embrace, Green nodded her head. "Thanks a lot, Cher."

"No worries" she replied, letting go of the hug.

After a few minutes of hugs, Green and Langit walk side to side, only a short time since Green had chosen to walk behind Langit.

"Let me just get the car."

Green nodded briefly, Langit raced up to get his car in a neat parking garage. For a few minutes Green waited, finally Langit came back with his black car. the guy came downstairs, opened the door for Green. "Ehh Sir, don't bother," Green said in a bad tone.

"It's hardly a bother."

"Thank you, Sir."

Awkwardness filled their way to home, Green felt awkward next to Langit. While Langit was at rest, he drove in peace. No one opened the conversation, silence dominated them both, Green or Langit both busy with each other's thoughts.

The rain fell perfectly, the sign given by the sky was not merely a sign but something tangible, as evidential as the rain coming down heavily.

After a few minutes of driving, Langit started the conversation, "Green, where's your house?" asked him who did not know where Green's house was.

"Go straight, Sir, then turn right, into the alley."

Langit nodded and then drove his car in the direction of Green. "This alley?" asked Langit again.

"Yes Sir, that's right."

Langit pulled over his car, along with Green about to prepare for descent, but Langit prevented it. "It's heavy rain Green, how about waiting for it to calm down?"

"I brought an umbrella, Sir." Green reached into her bag, looking for that umbrella she used to put there. But this time she seemed to have forgotten her umbrella, Green panicked and took out her entire bag, and sure enough she didn't find anything.

Langit who witnessed Green's panic only gave a slight smile, it was obvious that she was uncomfortable around him, whether it was her lecturer on the campus where Green was studying or something else.

"You got it?" asked him that caught Green's expression as if trying to remember something.

"There should be here Sir, but I seem to have left it at home, I forgot to put in," explained Green.

"Well, just wait here for a while. Unfortunately, there is no umbrella in my car either," Langit suggested.

Green looked out the window, it was true what Langit said, and it rained down. Green could have made it through the rain, but it was a long way to her house. If she walked her way through, she could be sure to find her clothes and her whole body soaked, not to mention how sick she would be when she has much to do the next day. Again, Green was letting go the situation, she decided to wait a while for the rain to stop, just like Langit had said.

"Green..." called Langit.

Green looked up at him "Yes, Sir?" She answered in half Shouting for him to hear her.

"Why choose to analyze my novel?" asked Langit started more conversation. He thought Green was the kind of woman he needs to step up, she was not gonna start a conversation with anyone new.

"Because of the quotation on the novel cover," Green answered curtly.

"Just because of that?"

Green nodded. It's true, she did not lie about the answer.

The quote stated on the front cover do interest her to read Kilas Balik novel in its entirety. From the corner of her eyes, Green could see the slight smile in Langit, and she accidentally saw the man's dimples. Realizing that what she was doing was wrong, Green immediately looked away, she looked forward to the water splashing from the sky, she always loved the view. To see the drops of water falling from the sky would bring her peace, her thoughts again turned to Alta. She remembered how much he hated rain, so much different from her.

"Dear, it's rain, let's come over there." Alta took Green by the hand and took her for a run, while Green stopped her steps, enjoying every drop of water pouring down her face.

"Dear, come faster, you're gonna get sick."

"Are you worried that I'm sick?" asked Green with a growing smile.

"Of course I'm worried dear." Alta again took Green by the hand, covered the woman's head with his jacket so that rain would not soak the head of woman he loved.

The moment that Alta and she were in high school suddenly came up to her head, Green smiled at the moment, and it seemed only yesterday that they had decided to date, and now, it is going to be four years dating, it's really fast.

"You all right, Green?" asked Langit ruining Green's daydreams.

“Alta, I miss you.”
