Chapter 27
The teleportation had been as swift as an eye blink. Ava quickly gained her senses and found herself upright inside what seem to be a tube walled by a solid screen of light. From beyond the confines of her prison tube, she could see the control station of the ship manned by three person crews, their backs facing her. The ship's interior was dark if not for the ship's wide cockpit window, stretching from corner to corner, which afforded her an exterior view as they traversed through Earth's landscape, passing by mountains and dirt plains in great speed.
Something glistened in the corner of her eye as she stared out. On the far side of the space shone another tube of light that's slightly narrower - a glowing, round crystal, the size of a fist, floating in teh air within it.
'Is that... could it be -' her thoughts beckoned.
Even without the long arm of the Trident that used to hold it, she could recognise it. Her head tilted slightly to its side as she gaped at it

All four materialized; half their bodies submerged in a murky forest swamp. But as the crashing alien spacecraft they've just been on hurtled above their heads with a booming sound and in great speed, their first attention was towards it, their necks arching up in quick motion. Ava stepped inside the familiar door and marble floors. In the gloomy, spacious room among strange artefacts, stone furniture and unusual architecture of embossed wall prints and luminous blue light lamps, the thing that stand out the most to Lindsey is the unusual sword monument situated at the far end of the room. To a massive block of stone, a sword is thrust. From the looks of it, the heavy blue bladed sword wrapped in cobwebs had spent many centuries plunged in there, waiting for its Arthur or so as Lindsey imagined. It had curious carving on the blade, the profile of a lightning, Lindsey deduced.Lindsey settled on her knee before it and studied the inscription written on the stone but to no avail as the language was scripted in alien characters. Four sleek WDF spacefighters landed on the spacious grounds of the Kinski farmland against the light of dawn breaking in the horizon. Somewhere round the coordinates of Earth space are the vanguards of WDF spacefighters ships strategically positioned everywhere, Lt Phil Wilson and his men knew all too well. But the view from the exteriors of their cockpits had been nothing but the seemingly peaceful blanket of stars for the past couple of hours.Ava had successfully eluded them all - the three men realised.They had flown in silence for most of the 3 hours in space, their ships flying at their max hyperspeed of 30 kiometers per second, waiting for a command from HQ for their unprecedented situation, knowing that the enemy fleet is just a couple of hours trajectory from where they are, probably aware, in one way or another, of the rogue Earth unit that seemed to be headed their way. The three pilots slammed their speeding ships to an abrupt halt as they took in the uncanny scene all around them, their vessels shifting to its humanoid form as they did, but watched as Ava's ship sped its way to the fortress.Then they looked up as the swarm of ships above them began to break up and dislodge in a downward motion as the Zhinras advanced swiftly to intercept them from below.The three men quickly realised they are witnesses to an unprecedented war erupting.Firepower flared from each of the clashing side. The mother fortress looked like a massive, basalt rock in space - a clear-cut, uncomplicated structure, so marvelled Alec, Phil and Sanders. Like a nicely carved out piece of an asteroid that broke off.They watched as the ship opened up to receive them, a huge mouth into what appears to be the hangar, beckoning them inside. Ava's ship had gone in first and the boys followed suit in their spacefighters, into this dark space tunnel. As the hangar gates begin to slid back to a close, effectively separating them from the vacuum of space as well as their pursuers which the Zhinra fighters had engaged on their behalf, the sound of machinery grinding and whirring invaded their senses, even in the comfort of their cockpits.They all switched into their battlesuit mode and floated on, sans thrusters, towards the light at the end of the tunnel."Guys, I know this is pretty much an inappropriate feeling right now, but I am pretty much amazed to be inside an enemy ship rig
