DAMIAN’S POV

The next morning, I got ready early to leave for work. Selena had already gone to take Henry to school. At least she didn’t resist going today. , if she had, I would’ve shown her the ruthless side everyone feared, the side that made everyone call me a devil.

As I prepared to leave, my gaze fell on a sealed envelope lying on the table. Selena had given it to me, instructing not to open it for a month. I wasn’t curious, but she was sly, no longer trustworthy. I reached for it, but my phone rang…Marcus. He always had this crazy timing thing.

“Yes?” I answered, pressing the phone against my ear.

“Everything you asked for is ready, alpha” he said from the other end of the line, “It just needs your signature.”

“Good. I am on my way.”

“Alright, Alpha” he responded, “Oh, and about the meeting…”

“Reschedule” I cut him off, “I have an appointment.”

“What appointment? You didn’t…”

“Hernandez’s birthday,” I interrupted again, “Kourtney invited me.”
