Eden's POV

My heart was racing. He was strong. An alpha! And I knew I shouldn’t be fighting anyone, not in my condition, let alone an alpha. I was putting my baby at risk. But what was I supposed to do?

Zane was in a coma. He couldn’t protect himself. He was defenseless. I couldn’t just abandon him.

I was no match for this man. I knew it in my heart. I highly doubted I’d be able to beat him. But I had to try.

For Zane, I had to try.

He studied my face. Then he broke out into a laugh. It was a low, guttural laugh.

“You?” He laughed. “You’re going to fight me? You’re pregnant.” He shook his head. “And you don’t even have a wolf.”

I didn’t respond. I just glared at him.

“Nonsense,” he sighed. “Don’t be a little bitch about this. Just step aside.”

He lunged at Zane then, but I ran at him with lightning speed and shoved him away. He landed on the floor, shocked. Then an amused smile broke out on his face.
