Camilla’s POV
I went up to my room and slammed the door behind me. Just as I went in, I heard a knock on my bedroom door.I knew from the scent that it was Leo. I wanted to turn him away, but it wouldn’t be nice.“Come in,” I called out. The door opened and he came in, smiling at me.“Hey!” He said.“Hi,” I responded. We probably were behaving like teenagers. I was shy, but he seemed bold enough to approach me.“Can I sit?” He asked.“Sure,” I responded, and he sat on my bed.“Look, I know it’s awkward, but I want to apologize for what my mother said in the dining room,” he apologized, just as I had expected.“It’s fine. One can be judged by saying how they should feel,” I answered.“No, what she did was wrong, and I wouldn’t stand for it. You must have had a misunderstanding with your mate, and that's fine. It’s not in her place to judge you,” he responded, and I knew he was a sensible wolf.“What can I say? Thanks,” I responded. We sat there awkwardly for what seemed like an eternity.“So… about the mate bond, I hope you’re not overwhelmed. I promise to give you all the love and commitment a wolf should give his mate, if you would have me,” he said. But I knew I wasn’t ready. Other wolves would fall into each other's arms and may even mate the same time they found themselves, but that isn’t me.“I want this, and I need this bond. But I have to think of my son and everything that is going on in my life. Let’s take it slow. I had just picked up my life here, and it seemed impossible to move now. And Marcel, I can’t leave him. He loves it here and…” I rambled on about my worries, and he reached out to hold my hands. Sparks flew from his touch, and I held back a moan.“It’s okay. Your father already told me not to rush you, and I completely understand. You will come when you’re ready. I wouldn’t try to force you,” he said, and I looked at him with adoration. Father must have spoken to him, which left me with the question of how much he knows. But I know it wouldn’t be nice to ask him that, so I appreciated him.“Thank you,” I whispered, and he took my hands to his lips and gave it a kiss.“If you don’t mind me asking, why did you reject your mate?” I asked out of curiosity. His mother had mentioned it, and I was curious enough to ask.“I didn’t reject her, she rejected me,” he replied, and I looked at him in shock. No she-wolf would be stupid enough to reject him. He wasn’t any ordinary wolf but an Alpha. And he wasn’t lacking in looks either.“What happened?” I asked. I could see his brow furrowed, and I could see him getting angry. He seemed lost in thought.“Look, I’m sorry about it. You can keep it to yourself if you want,” I said, and I could see him shake his head.“No, I would tell you soon enough, but not today,” he responded, and I nodded. I felt like we had both been hurt by our ex-mates. The topic of his old mate changed his mood.“It’s cool, I understand,” I replied.Soon after that, we exchanged small talk, and he ended up making me laugh. We exchanged numbers, and he retired for the night. The next morning came, and I called Erica and told her I would skip today for work and also informed her to call Revana to start the following day. Father told me that morning that Leo and his family had left earlier that morning, and Leo promised to give me a call. The rest of the day I had spent it with my son, and by evening, I wished him goodbye as I traveled back to the city for work the next day.The next day, I was in my office when Revana walked in. She had started her work as my personal assistant, and I had briefed Erica on what to be done with her.“Oh, Revana, what brings you to my office?” I asked her.“I’m sorry, but there are a lot of files to attend to, and Erica informed me to get them ready by tomorrow. Will it be possible if I drop some?” She asked.“No, those files need to be delivered tomorrow. You would have to review all of them,” I said, and I could see her frown, not that I cared.“But that would mean I need to work all night,” she replied.“Then do it, or you can quit if the job doesn’t suit your station. Here, we work hard, and we don’t feel redundant in our job,” I said, and I could see her frown. I said that I didn't care if she quit.I had informed Erica to give her twice the workload of the job. I wanted to make it hard for her here, and so far, it was going well.I wasn’t going to kill her, but I was going to make her time miserable here. I knew something was fishy in her story. There was no way she had come here to work just like that. Enzo must have pushed her out.“This is unfair. Erica told me my duty is to attend to every one of the other workers here. This is not the job description, but it’s more like slavery,” she cried out, and I scoffed.“Your mate is an Alpha. You can quit. I’m sure your pack will provide for you as Luna,” I replied.“You don’t understand them. Alpha Enzo doesn’t…” She said, and I could see sorrow in her eyes.“Alpha Enzo, what?” I asked.“I’m sorry I lied to you, but I am not the Luna of my pack,” she whispered as she bowed her head shamefully.“What!!!!” I screamed at the top of my voice as I stood up from my seat.“What?” I asked.“Did he want to pick a fight with you because of what happened in court?” I asked and Leo shaked his head.“No” he responded.“Then why would Enzo want to see you if he didn’t want to fight?”I asked.“He wanted me to take care of you and the kids,” Leo blurted out and I was shocked as I looked at him.“What?, I don’t understand,” I voiced out to him and he nobbed, “you wouldn’t, he wants me to make sure you are safe, and also the kids if he doesn’t make it back tomorrow, from the challenge,” Leo said and my eyes watered.“That selfish and prideful prick,” I cursed as I glared at the ground.“We made a plan,” Leo said as he looked at me, I was surprised and confused, these two hated each other and how is it that they were able to talk after a few months of being on each other throats?“Wait, hold on, this would be unreal, you two hate each other with passion, how is it that now your buddies,” I questioned him confused.“Because we love the same woman, and we would do a
Chapter “I am leaving for the city with the kids, I can’t see any one elsedeath because of me and even if I stay I woud pick Leo he is a better man to me than Enzo,” I informed her and she nobbed.“Well change your olans it wouldn’t go as planned, the queen said and i nobbed she was right it wouldn’t go as planned. I had to think of an alternative. If Enzo is king he wouldn’t let me leave with his kids, and besides I would be stupid enough to do that they wouldn’t be safe anywhere they would be targeted by everyone who want to get to their father and I couldn’t do that.I sat nervously beside the queen, my mind racing with thoughts of what was to come and how I was to deal with the issues of leaving with the kids. Erica emerged from the inner room, her presence offering a brief distraction from my thoughts, I had sense he inside but I ever bother to ask where she was. "I'm sorry I asked her to help with packing," the queen confessed quietly to the to me. "I couldn't trust anyone
I stood in the council chamber, the weight of the conversation heavy in the air. Every word spoken seemed to carry with it a new revelation, and the surprise on everyone's faces mirrored my own shock at the way things had turned out.But amidst the sea of astonished expressions and surprises , one stood out to me: Enzo, his smirk betraying his excitement at having seemingly won over the king and forced him to confront his fears. The king was old and frail and sometimes I thought he was sick, but I knew he was strong. Royal wolves were stronger then normal wolves. And I was somehow sure that Enzo may win over him."All of you out," the king's voice cut through the tension like a knife, his command leaving no room for argument. As everyone stood up from their seat a they prepared to leave he room. Enzo stood defiantly, his gaze locked on the king. "I wouldn’t leave till I have my son," he roared, his voice echoing off the walls of the council room. The king's glare was icy, I knew he
I walked into the council room, Enzo's hand firmly clasped in mine. Despite the tension in the air, I made no attempt to withdraw my hand from his. I wanted Ti show tte king how much we didn’t fear him. I could see Leo eyes narrowe at me as he looked at the hands that were in Enzo’s own.I expected him to be pissed off and anger but to my surprise he nobbed at a me, and smirked. I don’t know what it means but I guess he wanted me to know it would traumatize the king to see both men fighting for me and the kids. Two men he hated and fears and had the power to bring down the werewolf kingdom to its knees ,’a she would do nothing but watch his throne but as he had crossed the line when he took my child. The first time he Locked Ene in a room poorly kept room where Marcel contacted an illness,we had let it go bit these I knew it wouldn’t go by so easily until he sumit to our demands. The room fell into an uneasy silence as all eyes turned to us. One of the council members rose to his feet
I stormed out of the forest, my heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination, Leo and Enzo by my side. My clothes were stained with sweat and blood, a testament to the battle we had just fought and the pains am I endured for days at the rogues camp, I haven’t even had the time to bath or thale at of. My self since I came back.“Let’s gets going, were are the cars,” I asked Enzo who seems pissed off off by the whole thing.“I suggest you change your clothes and take a bath,” Leo suddenly said and I turned to look at him. I scoffed at the idea. "My child is in the hands of a monster, Leo. I couldn't care less about appearances right now," I snapped, my voice tense with frustration as I marched into the cabin. I had to changed on Erica and Marcel before I leave.I couldn’t care how I look, I haven’t changed my clothes in three days or take a a bath. But I didn’t care so many thing occupied my mind that I couldn’t comprehend. As I went inside the room, I found Erica was holding Mar
As I walked out of the room, the first person I laid eyes on was Erica. She nodded at me, Marcel asleep in her arms, his tiny hands wrapped around her. "Where is Desmond?" I asked, concern evident in my voice."He's in the room, I took him there and put him to sleep," she replied with a solemn nod.“Thank you, i really appreciate,” i thanked her and she had a guilty smile onnher face i knew she have been eavesdropping on my argument with Enzo.“Indindt mean to, i was just passing by,” she suddenly said as if she had the thought in my head, i filled my eyes, the was no need for her to feel guilty, the room wasn't sound proff and it safe tis at everyone was a were wolf so everyone heard everything.“Don't apologize, i know you didn't mean to,” i responded as i walked closed to her and patted her back.“This yound man fell bored and fell alsoepp, i have to put Him to bed,” she responded docing off the topic of discussion."Then let's go," I responded, following her lead as she guided me
