Although I was tired, my mind was excited. I couldn’t wait to get out of here and just live a simple life with Adan.

I stayed awake waiting for him and Lucius to come back while Patrea dozed off in my bed. She told me she hadn’t had a decent sleep in days just thinking about the things that could go wrong, and now that it was over, she just wanted to sleep the night away.

I initially offered her her own room, but she refused. She was not comfortable in the tower, and she knew she would not be able to sleep if I were not around.
