Victor POV

I don’t know how long I stared at the closed door before the sounds of knocks startled me.

The door opened, and Matthew came in.

“Are you alright, boss? Your father looked like he wanted to chew me off.”

I walked the short distance to my desk and sat behind it.

“Is he still trying to buy Pepper’s shares?” I asked, dismissing his question, as I thought it was irrelevant up to this point.

I am not alright.

“I heard he tendered an offer and sent it to that lawyer. Samuel Burke, but I am not sure if Ms. Ferguson had seen the proposal or not.”

After hearing about my father’s move, I fished my phone out of my pocket to call Samuel.

I need to intercept all his plans, especially now that I heard the news that he had been relentless in his pursuit to dispossess Pepper of her shares in the company that I saved from ruin.
