Halima wakes up beside her husband. She quickly makes to get out of bed but is dragged back by her husband. She lands on his bare broad chest and he mouths a good morning into her neck.
She blushes crimson red then tries to get up again but gets dragged back by Sa'eed, "where are you going? We just got married yesterday fah, and you want to leave me already?"
"I'm not going anywhere fah. I just want to use the bathroom."
"why don't we use it together?", Sa'eed says wiggling his brows.
"kai Innalillahi, let me just go and do my business and come back first."
"ahap, sai kiyi business din mugani ai {do the business let's see}. You're not going anywhere. What do you want to do in the toilet sef?", Ya Sa'eed says turning Halli such that their faces are just inches away.
"see question o, meye akeyi a toilet kuwa? {what do people do in the bathroom?}." Halli says attempting to raise one brow.
Sa'eed says counting them with his fingers, his eyes looking heavenwards as if he's thinking "ana kashi, fitsari, wanka... {people defecate, urinate, bathe...}"
"eww, Ya Sa'eed!!!" Halli says hitting his chest playfully.
"haba wifey, do you want to injure your husband? Shaa ai it's not painful sef, wannan hanun naki kaman taliya {this your hand that's like spaghetti} it won't be painful." Halli glares at him then stands up feigning hurt.
She strolls to the bathroom and takes her bath. She comes out in a white robe and looks around the room for Sa'eed. She shrugs and enters their walk-in closet.
She rememebers something her mother once told her about dressing "in the morning wear a traditional outfit, in the evening when he's about to come back from work wear an English clothes then at night before bed wear a fine nightgown not all these cotton mickey mouse top and trouser o."
She smiles then picks a black and white atamfa sewn into a paplon blouse and six pieces skirt. She applies minimal makeup which she has learned to love instead of heavy makeup. She then ties her head tie in a baby chakwai style leaving her packed hear bare.
She goes out and still doesn't find Sa'eed. Entering the kitchen, she starts making avocado toast and chai. Once she's done she dishes the food and takes it to the dining, after setting the dining she turns to go and call Sa'eed.
As she places her left leg on the first step of the spiral staircase she feels two muscular arms wrap themselves around her waist. She gasps and tenses but then relaxes.
She smirks then starts shouting "wayyo, kwarto, kwarto, kato, kato, Ya Sa'eed kwarto { adulterer, adulterer, fornicator, fornicator, Ya Sa'eed adulterer}." The hands release her and she turn wiping the smirk off her face.
"sweetheart it's me." Ya Sa'eed says trying to make eye contact with her. She hugs him then drags him to the dining room.
Once he is seated he drags her and she lands on his laps, her face turns crimson red and she smirks almost immediately and the blush disappears.
She places her hand on his broad chest and starts rubbing it, he shivers and her smirk grows wider, once she's reached his sides she starts tickling him knowing he doesn't like being tickled, he looses control when he's being tickled.
After series of laughs he tries to take her off him but she balances herself more on his thighs to which she feels a shiver run down her spine but she doesn't show it.
They fall off the chair and Ya Sa'eed also starts tickling her, they continue like that, their breakfast long forgotten. After some time they both get tired and they lay there on the cold tiles, Halima on top of Ya Sa'eed listening to his steady heartbeat.
Three minutes later Sa'eed calls Halima's attention, she responds with a hum and he says "i have our honeymoon tickets here, our flight is in three hours."
Halima quickly gets up and hit Sa'eed on the chest, "why didn't you tell me? i didn't even pack." She quickly stands up and touches the avocado toast, it's turned cold.
She glares at him then humphs. She goes up the stairs and he follows her, "baby, sweetheart, darling, honey, sweetums, cookie, the sugar in my tea. Wait, why am i begging you? Ai it was your fault."
Halima quickly drags him and they both lay in the bed, "I'm sorry, our flight is in three hours why don't we go have some fun around the airport area? But what about our clothes?"
"chill now ah ahn, we have clothes waiting for us there." Ya Sa'eed says smirking.
"where are we going?".
"somewhere on planet earth."
"oh, please tell me, please, please, preety please with a cherry on top and whipped cream." Halima begs pouting.
"ah, where did you here whipped cream there kuma? ". Halima shrugs and enters the walk-in closet, she picks a white beaded viel and drapes it over her head.
Ya Sa'eed gives her a once over then picks her up bridal style. She looks at him bewildered then says "ah ahn, su Ya Sa'eed romantic person." He glares at her and she lets out a hearty laugh.
Once they've reached the car, she opens the door and they drive to the airport. They complete all the formalities and board the plane.
Santorini, Greece.
Halima looks around and mouths a wow. After they complete all the formalities they sight a blue car holding a placard that reads Mr and Mrs Sa'eed Abba.
They enter the car and drive off to a hotel. Once there they enter and Ya Sa'eed talks to the receptionist. She's a blonde lady in her late twenties. She's shamelessly gawking at Sa'eed.
"I'm Violetta, welcome. How may i help you handsome?" Halima quickly snaps her head in the direction of the receptionist. Handsome?, Halima mutters to herself.
"uhmm, i booked a romantic suite under the name Mr Sa'eed Abba." Ya Sa'eed says feeling Halima's hot glare on him and the receptionist.
"okay let me check." the receptionist smiles showing her pearl white teeth. She gives Halima a disgusted lookand Halima scoffs.
"here's your key, your room is number 345 on the third floor, you'll find the..." she's cut off by an obviously jealous Halima
"i think we can find the elevator by ourselves, right Habeeby?" He nods in affirmation and starts to walk towards the elevator.
Halima stays back and eyes the receptionist then says, "look, he's married and doesn't plan on having another wife, not even in the next life, so keep your eyes to yourself or i might just have to grouch your eyes out and make you have Violetta eye soup." The kind of tone Halima used could kill, it's deadly that the receptionist started sweating despite the blowing air conditioner in every nook and cranny of the hotel.
Halima walks away seeing that she is satisfied with the reaction she got from the receptionist. She walks over to a sign pointing left that says, elevator, third floor. She walks there and sees Ya Sa'eed.
"What in the Jahannam!!!" She shouts.
Verily, whatever has a beginning, must have an end. ~Meemxy Two days later... "Sa'eed, if Halima doesn't wake up before Wednesday, then you're marriage is automatically severed. Even if she does, unless she says she's willing to stay with you, it's a lost cause." This has been turning itself in Sa'eed's head since on Saturday - the day Halima put to birth, and today is Tuesday. Meaning that, in less than twenty four hours, Sa'eed's marriage with Halima will be severed automatically and Halima will become a divorcee. Neither the baby nor Halima are in any good condition. Halima slipped into comma the moment she gave birth while the baby, being born premature at eight months, is at the Special Baby Care unit (SCBU) and on life support. She can give up the ghost anytime though she has started opening her eyes from time to time.
It's been sixty eight days since the divorce. Halima has been counting and so far, she can't wait to finish the ninety days of torture. She was very foolish to think they could work out again, to think she was thinking of going back to withdraw the divorce issue, what a whimsy thought! One week after they got back, Halima had thought about it, this divorce shouldn't have happened. But it has happened and she is the only one that can change it. She went to Sa'eed - since they aren't living in the same rooms - only to hear the conversation that changed her mind.Halima walks through the corridor, determined steps are what she takes. She just needs to talk to him and then they'll go to the judge and forget the divorce issue."Yes, have you seen those girls? They look even younger in person. Fahida and Kamila. Very pretty girls. Your wife, oops, ex-wife would look like an old woma
"Daddy, Abba, please talk to Mummy. Wallahi I don't want to go back to that house, please." Halima is full verge on crying. The two men turn their faces to the side, showing Halima their napes. Their wives have told them to stay out of it and from the way they said it, they know there's more to it so they have to stay out. Halima wails and turns on her knees to Hajjo and Innayo."Ammi please help me. I will die if i go back there. You've always told me you love me, please show me that love now." Halima holds unto Innayo's skirt and sorrowfully, she turns away from Halima. She knows about Halima's pregnancy and she'd be damned if she's the reason why her grandchild doesn't get to experience the love of both of his or her parents. Even if Halima and Sa'eed won't reconcile, they should attempt to, so that whatever happens with the child in the future, would be both their faults alone and no one else's. Having no other choice, Halima turns to her mother.
The glow that's radiating off her skin is enough to tell anyone that she's the bride. Her smile alone shows how happy she is with the marriage. Despite the fact that she doesn't have a family, she's not worried at all, not one bit. She's contented and happy with the family her husband to be has provided her with.Looking in the mirror Lash's smile widens, even wider than a grin. She feels and looks extremely beautiful, happy and contented. Today is the daurin aure. Today she'll finally experience the happiness of a bride, a married woman. Her wedding events have been the talk of Abuja for the past two weeks. Instagram, snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube you name it. The wedding is trending on very social media platform; AiNayn is all over the web. Hussaina took it upon herself to see to it that the whole world knows about her brother's wedding. She created an Instagram and Twitter account and tag with the hashtag #AiNayn making
Halima hugs her mother and her father before they enter the car. She doesn't even look outside because she doesn't miss Nigeria, not one bit. She only misses her family and friends. Who's she kidding? She hardly has any friends but she's going to change all that now. She has already made a friend back at France, she's a Nigerian and she lives in Abuja too. They even exchanged contacts. They drive directly to the Abba Sulayman house as per Halima's nagging that she wants to see her Ammi, Teemah, Amalie and Afnan. Innayo was discharged two weeks ago and she's actually getting very better now.The Abba Sulaymans want to even start planning Amal's wedding. It's just Halima they were waiting for and according to what Fatima said in the morning, Hamza's parents are coming for the sa rana next week. They arrive at the house and Halima doesn't even wait for her parents. She just enters the house like she does a
It has been two good weeks since she last set her eyes on Zulqa, or even heard his voice. She isn't even bothering herself. Just staying indoors, eating, sleeping, taking care of her self and treating herself well. She can't let anyone dull her shine, she's HumyLash, no one, absolutely no one can dull her shine.Skin care routines, exercises, comedy videos, religious videos and healthy foods are what she is worried about right now. If Zulqa and her are meant to be, then they will be no matter what, and if they aren't, tyen it's probably for the best, Lash has been telling herself.Lash turns on her bed, hearing the sound of her phone ringing. She feels all over the bed, trying to figure out where the hell her phone is. She finds it and uses the fingerprint sensor to accept the call that's coming through. They exchange Salams with the person on the other end."Aisha, can I come to your house?" Lash sits
