It’s been a week since Adrian stopped talking to me.

Seven long days of walking through the same halls, sitting through the same meetings, breathing the same air and pretending not to notice him.

He doesn’t look at me.

Not once.

Not even when I speak during meetings. He keeps his eyes on the screen, his tone polite, his face unreadable. Like we never shared anything. Like I don’t exist.

People have started to notice.

Whispers float around the office like dust…quiet, and impossible to ignore.

Did something happen between them?

Why doesn’t Mr. Adrian talk to her anymore?

Maybe she made him mad.

I tell myself it doesn’t matter. That I deserve the silence. But some nights, when I can’t sleep, I replay that last look on his face, the anger, the hurt and it cuts deeper than I expect.

By Thursday, the office buzzes with talk about the big presentation and the company gala that will follow. It’s for the new partnership deal with an international firm. Everyone’s excited. Everyone but me.

  • BILLIONAIRE HEIRESS' REVENGE    Chapter 133

The office felt heavier than usual this morning. The walls looked the same, the desks still lined in neat rows, but something inside me had changed.Adrian had not spoken to me in more than two weeks. He passed me in the hallway as if I were air. He joined meetings and never once looked in my direction. His silence had turned into a wall, and each day it grew higher. At first, I told myself I could handle it. I tried to lose myself in work, in reports, in emails. I tried to make it seem normal. But every hour that passed made me realize I was pretending. The more I tried to stay strong, the more it hurt. That morning I sat at my desk and stared at my computer screen for a long time. The numbers blurred until they stopped meaning anything. I felt tired, inside and out. It was not just about him anymore. It was about peace, and how far away it felt.So I opened a new document and started typing a letter. My hands shook a little. To the Human Resources Department,I am requesting a trans

Chapter 129 - Adrian’s POVI didn’t sleep that night. The city lights blinked through my window, but all I could see was Ellie’s face when I walked away. The look in her eyes — shock, confusion, hurt.I told myself I didn’t care. I told myself it was better this way.But lying there, staring at the ceiling, I knew I was lying to myself again.I turned off my phone, ignored every message, and shut out the world. No one deserved to know what was happening inside my head, not Clara, not Ellie, not anyone. When morning came, I dressed for work like nothing had happened.Suit. Tie. Watch. Mask.By the time I stepped into the office, the mask was fully on.“Good morning, sir,” Mia greeted.I gave a small nod and walked straight into my office.Ellie’s desk was empty. For a moment, I thought she wouldn’t show up.A small part of me wished she wouldn’t.But she did.Ten minutes later, I heard her footsteps, soft and familiar. She stopped at my door like she usually did, waiting for permission

ELLIE'S POV The office felt colder than usual that morning.Maybe it was the air conditioner. Maybe it was the stares.I could feel them before I even reached my desk…eyes, whispers, the kind that crawl under your skin and stay there.I kept my head down, pretending to scroll through my phone. But I heard it, soft laughter, a name I didn’t want to hear.“Did you see them?”“In his arms! All night?”“I thought she hated him…”I wanted the ground to open and swallow me whole.I sat down quickly, pulling my chair close to the desk. My heart wouldn’t slow down. I could still feel the weight of Adrian’s arm around me from last night. The warmth, the peace that had wrapped around me like a blanket after days of trouble. And now… shame.Every time I looked up, I saw people’s eyes shift away too late. They’d been staring. Whispering. When I finally gathered enough courage to look toward Adrian’s office, the door was closed. Frosted glass. His name shining in gold letters like it always did

I didn’t plan to see her again.Clara.But all morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about what Ellie said. Her voice kept replaying in my head, shaking, like she was holding something too heavy to say out loud. Now I know why she’s been avoiding me.Now I know who she really is.Clara’s sister. The woman I almost married. And the woman I can’t stop thinking about.I sit behind the wheel for a long time before I move. I don’t even know what I’ll say.I just know I can’t stay quiet anymore. When I finally park outside Clara’s house, my chest feels tight. Everything looks the same. The same tall gate, the small white car, the curtains drawn like always. I sit there for a minute, staring. Then I walk to the door and knock. It opens after a few seconds.Clara stands there in a silk robe, holding a cup of tea. She looks surprised, but not shocked.Like she expected this one day.“Adrian,” she says softly. “You shouldn’t be here.”“I know,” I say. “But I had to come.”She studies me, then steps

Chapter 125The whole day feels wrong.Even after everyone stopped talking about what they saw in the office that morning, I could still feel their stares on my skin. I could still hear the small laughs, and the side talks I told myself not to care. I told myself to focus on my work, but every time I looked at my screen, the image came back … Adrian’s arms around me, the warmth of him, the way my body had fit against his like I was made to stay there.I shouldn’t have let that happen.I shouldn’t have fallen asleep.I shouldn’t even have been close to him.By noon, I was already tired of pretending.I kept my head down, typing, replying emails, acting like nothing happened. But my mind was running wild, scared, guilty. When the office finally went quiet again, I didn’t leave. I just sat there, alone, letting the silence fill the room. My chest hurt. My hands shook. I didn’t even know why I was crying until I tasted salt on my lips. That was when I heard him.Adrian’s footsteps. Slow.
