Chapter 13

BRENDA

Ethan arrives a few minutes after welcoming my guests. I'm glad he's already home on time for lunch and after hugging and kissing me, he shakes the guests hands and I can tell how uncomfortable he feels when Brianna stands up to hug him.

I ignore everything as I set the table for lunch and I invite them over to eat, my eyes discreetly checking Brianna out. She's fidgety around Ethan and she's trying her level best to impress him, trying to start a conversation and all.

Since I don't want to dwell on it, I focus on setting the table and immediately everyone takes their place, I sit down next to my fiancée and we all serve our food and then eat in silence.

Nothing much transpires all that while and I'm surprised at how quickly I move my mind from Brianna's flirting nature and focus on other things.

After lunch, I help the house manager to clear the table and after we're done, I join the rest in the living room. To my relief, Ethan is not in sight and I heave a sigh of relief knowing that my sister didn't get a chance to flirt with him.

She's busy playing all loving and caring to her new catch and I silently pray that she loves him for real... not for his sake but for his little kids' sake! I don't want anyone to break their little hearts, having gone through losing their mother at such tender ages!

We chat for a while, still keeping an eye on Brianna who can't keep her hawk eyes off the staircase leading upstairs. I know she's anticipating Ethan's return and when he finally shows up, descending down the stairs, she shifts uncomfortably, discreetly letting go of Steve's hand and pulling her dress a little bit up to expose more skin!

Ahhh! How pathetic of her! Can't she see that my man is not interested? He's taken and committed for Christ's sake!

Well, I'll just ignore her since the job I'm offering her won't allow her anywhere near Ethan at all! She'll work closer to me and since I'll be there to monitor her, she won't try anything funny. Stephen too will play a great role in ensuring that she doesn't whore around since they're already an item!

I pray that with time she'll realise that she just had an infatuation with Ethan and she'll eventually drop it when she stops seeking her. Besides, the job I'm offering her will keep her busy to the core!

Ethan sits on the couch next to me and he joins in our conversation.

We continue chatting, with Steve telling us how happy he is to have Brianna for a girlfriend. He seems smitten already and he can't stop praising her and how well she's bonding with his kids. According to him, Brianna loves Brandon and Natasha like her own! Deep down, I'm praying that this is real because if it's not, then Brianna will have me to content with! I won't let her hurt the kids even if they're not in any way related to me!

After what seems like eternity with Steve praising his girlfriend and everything about her, I finally get the chance to inform Brianna about the job offer in our establishment.

Her job designation will just be simple...to supervise the receptionists, sometimes taking their places whenever one of them is absent. I have two ladies at the reception and since I don't want Brianna to be deeply involved in my company, I prefer to give her light duties as an alternative.

The ladies at the reception, Clara and Sophie have an off day each once a week and I'll instruct each of them to be quite vigilant whenever one of them is not around. I don't want Brianna to mess my clients or my company at all!

Since she didn't have any formal training or experience, she agrees immediately though she can't help but ask if the staff will differentiate us and if it will be okay to work in the same establishment as her boyfriend something which I have a ready answer for her.

“You wear heavy make up, I wear little or no make up at all. You like applying plum red lipstick while I love nude lip gross....how will they confused us?” I explain and she nods in understanding, having realised that I know what she's upto. She won't work with Ethan...she'll never work with him under my watch! She'll never get near him unless I'm out of the picture!

Having gotten into an agreement, we settle on the payment and we agree that she starts on Monday, however, I can't stop stressing the fact that they should keep their hands off each other while in the office!

Steve and Brianna leave immediately after having dinner with us. They both promise to see me in the office on Monday and I'm finally glad that I'm left all alone with my love who has been uncomfortable all through in Brianna's presence.

I noticed all this but I won't air my concern since he didn't show any interest in her suggestive conversations, neither did he dare look her way at all! Wow! I'm so proud of my man.

I note with concern as he gulps a whole glass of champagne as we relax on the couch in the living room, there after heaving a sigh of relief. It's like his freedom had been confiscated from him through out the day...

“So?” he asks and I chuckle with humour.

“So?” I repeat and since I know the cook and house manager have retired to their rooms, I draw closer to him and sit on his laps, rubbing my tiny behinds on his crotch. At this, he moans in ecstasy, placing his hands across my waist to my belly and caressing it lovingly as he shifts under me....this time in pleasure.

“Why are you doing this to me my love?” he asks and I grin, knowing he won't see my reaction. “Let's go upstairs, okay?”

Ooops! I thought he'll never ask! After teasing his crotch for the last time, he holds my waist and helps me up and immediately I'm on my feet, he keeps his grip on them and walks behind me, leading me upstairs....

Tonight, shit must get down!
